Default What have been your accomplishments with health and fitness this past year?

New Years day is 6 weeks away, and I thought it would be fun for all of us to boast about our achievements we've done and milestones we've hit over the past year..and listing things we hope to accomplish next year...

This year I:

-Got down to the lowest weight I've been since middleschool when I was also 5 inches shorter, and managed to hit a normal BMI
-Stuck with running 5-6 days a week and developed a love of actually doing it. Seriously...I look forward to it everday
-Managed to elimate soda and fast food all year, with only 2 slipups on the soda...
-Got into my size 12 jeans, and size 10 dresses and skirts
-Become fitter then I've ever been
-Learned to be happy with my body for the first time in my life

Things I hope to achieve next year:

-Go all year without having a little slipup of putting back on ten pounds after getting to relaxed with my diet
-Run my first marathon on St. Patricks Day
-Become more dedicated to lifting weights and sticking with it
-I want to physically be able to do pull-ups on that pull-up machine at the gym

Can't wait to read some of your guys accomplishments

This year I:

Turned 70

Lost 40 pounds

Have gone from no exercise at all to being able to walk for an hour and do some simple strengthening exercises.

Next year I want to:

Live to be 71

Loose another 20-25 lbs

Make exercise a permanent part of my life.

Like they say, Simple but not Easy.

My reboot started March 5th, so most of this applies since that day and not necessarily the whole year.

Beginning of the year I lost 10lbs by just by changing from drinking pop to water and giving up snacking on a candy bar everyday at break.
Than over the summer I decided to try to lose even more weight by walking and counting calories. I so far lost 30lbs from doing that. So technically I lost 40 this year.
I went back to the size I wore in high school. THAN I went few sizes smaller than I was in high school!
I went from having a BMI that was obese to overweight.
I've walked 16 miles (other days I normally did 14) in one day and I wasn't tired. Would have walked more if I woke up earlier but I knew if I didn't turn back and head home it'll be dark before I got home. I want to hike the Appalachian trail one day so that's a very very good thing.
I feel better, happier, and more awake. I don't dread getting up in the morning and facing the day.

This coming year I want too;
reach my goal
maintain
buy all new clothes. I wear clothes until they are completely worn out. Which mine are. But every few weeks it seems like I'm going done a size so I'm just buying two pair of pants and few shirts just for work. And every two months buying a pair of jeans. I don't want to spend all that money just for them to be replaced!
Reach healthy level in my BMI.
Be able to weight lift at least my goal weight.

I wore the same size clothing the entire year and maintained a pretty decent level of fitness for a middle aged chick.

This year...

I decided to do something about my "issues" and got the jumpstart that I needed to lose over 30lbs.!!!

I renewed my love of running and I'm ready to start preparing to run another marathon...

Next year...

I AM GOING TO GET DOWN TO GOAL!!!

I am going to finally run another marathon... Which will be my 7TH MARATHON!!!

That's it for now... I'm pretty sure I'll have my hands full with just those 2 goals

By far my biggest accomplishment has been committing to exercising 4 times per week -- and doing it! I'm finally getting a clue at age 55.

This year I:
-Lost 80 pounds
-Got to the lowest weight I've ever been (at least since I was a kid)
-Became a vegetarian
-Actually walked into a store, grabbed a pair of jeans in a size, walked into the fitting room, and had them fit. No more trying on all the pants in the store and still walking out empty-handed.

Next year:
-I will maintain!
-I will exercise regularly
-I will cut back on eating processed foods.

This year I've :-

lost 32lb (so far)
got back in to my size 16 (UK) jeans
managed to help put the dog agility equipment out where my son goes
met the brother I never knew I had
welcomed my new Grand-daughter to the world
was actually asked advice from my elder son
had the courage to tell the 'gods gift to women' that actually he wasn't and there was no way on gods green earth that he was going to get me into bed before my 50th birthday (boy did that feel good!)

I know most of these arnt weight loss related but they are to me, if I hadn't lost the weight I have I'd never have had the courage to do some of them

Next year I plan to get down to 10 stone or 140lbs which ever comes first
