Don't Want To Stray!

  • Hi everyone! I need a little bit of inspiration. Two years ago, I had lost 100 lbs. It was the best time of my life. I've kept a lot of it off, but now I've noticed maybe 20 lbs has come back. It sucks when you have to get back on track, but I am motivated to lose those lbs, plus more. I eat fairly well, just am not as strict as I was before. I need some inspiration and helpful tips to get me excited again about weight loss. I'd love to find a buddy too! Anything can help! Thanks all!
  • Congratulations on all the weight you have lost! It's a really good sign that you caught the gain at 20! Personally, I had lost from 193 down to 142, then gained back up to 193, then had 2 babies and ended up at 236! So you're in pretty good shape IMO. It is hard starting back up; I found, for me, that just jumping back in with both feet and committing to it worked well. I kind of just did it, and the motivation followed, then it went away, and came back, and went away again (I don't know where it is right now, but I'm keeping at it even with no motivation whatsoever). The good thing is that the commitment stayed even with the motivation ebbing and flowing. I also try to just look at the next 5 to 10 pounds, looking at the whole thing got way too overwhelming.

Well, hope that helps, it felt rambley! (spell check is telling me rambley is not a word, but it should be)
  • I lost 60lbs when I was younger and was hovering around 160 for a long time. I thought I was so fat and hideous, mostly because I was a teenager and alot of my friends were stick thin and wearing super hot clothes.

Now that I'm older I wish I was 160! I gained back all the weight lost and a ton more.

I'm heavier than ever and it really sucks thinking about how little I appreciated being in the 100's and how I was so close to goal then! But that's not the way to think about. Don't worry about the things you can't change, like the 20lbs. You can't go back in time and stop it from happening. What you can do is stop from gaining more and start losing that 20lbs again.

You'll likely appreciate your goal weight more the second time around.
