ruralmama - it is different for everyone, but keep doing the right things and your scale will catch up.

Thanks for this post - I have been sooo good at eating on plan and haven't really had a problem with cravings, but today I wanted ALL OF THE SUGAR! I'm glad to know it's probably just TOM , not that I'm like, loosing my resolve or something.

I haven't noticed much effect on my weight. Sometimes it's up, sometimes it's down, but I don't see a clear pattern according to TOM. However, sometimes I have undeniable cravings and those are the worst!

My TOTM's are definitely frustrating. I gained a total of 8 lbs in 7 days last month. (3 days prior to my 'time' and 4 days during.) Two days AFTER my TOTM ended, I stepped on the scale and saw I'd lost all 8 lbs plus an additional 4 lbs. I just keep on track and don't even bother weighing myself until after my TOTM now.

This is really great to read even though everybody is different. I have started weighing everyday to be sure of where I am at in my progress and seeing the increases even though I was on plan was kind of disappointing. I finally figured out it was TOM weight gain of 4 lbs. I didn't really get a whoosh until days later and all I can say is Yay. Those 4 lbs I work so hard for really are gone. Now I'll pay a little more attention to my own pattern. Thanks Guys.

If you want another weird hormone related correlation, I don't lose around ovulation. That one really threw me the first month or two before I made the connection. This month I'm even up a pound due to a high sodium splurge meal and new exercise. I don't expect that extra lb of water weight to go away until the end of the weekend at the earliest.

Thanks everyone for replying and sharing your insight! I managed to survive PMS and TOM and sure enough once I had passed PMS and day 1 whoosh and I've been picking up some steam since. The biggest thing for me was that I survived TOM without binging and I continued to workout! Hooray!

im so glad i found this! even thou its a couple months old by now lol
i jumped up 5 lbs over night and was like WTF ???!! then i checked out my calendar and my TOTM is due in 6 dayish so im crossing my fingers that its just water weight.
i can live with that for now ! lol

This time around I stayed the same weight and then continued losing after. Usually I go up 1-3 pounds before and then lose during.

I can gain up to 5 pounds a few days before TOM. Then my weight is all over the place. I might lose it all the next day, then put it back on the day after that. Then lose it all again 2 days later. I find that around halfway through TOM, I lose the water weight and my weight goes back to normal until the next TOM.

I was so glad to read this thread as I seem to gain around 4 lbs that hangs around until 2 or 3 days after my TOM. Glad to see I am not alone!

No TOM bloating/gain here, but no post-TOM whooshes either.
