  • Pictures of Scarlet Johansson is enough for me to want to get my butt on the treadmill.
  • Love that idea!
  • I did pretty much the same thing, except it was beads strung on a ribbon. I pinned it to the curtain in the bedroom right by the scale. Ten beads of one color, ten more of a different color, etc, - 100 beads in all. It was easy to see progress. I still have it pinned there with the last 10 pounds waiting to move over if I decide to lose more than 90. I don't move anything back and forth in maintenance as long as it stays in a couple pound range. I agree 100% that visual cues like this help keep us on track. Thanks for sharing the photo. And great job on the loss so far.

  • That's the coolest idea ever. I love it! Looks like I'm buying a couple vases on pay day.
  • I LOVE this idea! My sweetie and I are going mall-walking today (we are trying to do fitness dates. ) and I think I'm going to stop by the 99cent store to get something similar . . . but purple because that's my color! hehe

As far as visual inspiration, I am finding Tumblr a great resource. I am following tons of healthy weight-loss Tumblrs (trying to avoid some of the scary thinspo ones or ones that are mean to fat people). I am also about to create a Digital Dreamboard at digitaldreamboard.com. I used to have a cork board in my old apartment, but since I moved I don't have one. So this is the next best thing for me to visualize my dreams. Another simple thing I have been doing is making my wallpaper on my PC something inspirational. I love lots of little visual reminders throughout the day. Thanks for sharing, peachiee77, I love this topic!

ETA: I made mine in purple vases from the 99 cent store, but it felt both good and kinda crummy because I couldn't fit stones in there for all the weight (150lbs) I have to lose. :S But I did get 120, so that's a start! hehe
  • This is a great idea! I'm a visual person as well so I might try this and see how it works. Thank you for sharing.
  • Stealing this idea, Thanks!

I think I'll keep my vases/jars in the kitchen! lol
  • If only there was a way to have someone who you can't have, but would love to see naked and they did a strip or removed a piece of clothing for x amount of pounds.... that would work for me lol
  • I love this! Maybe I'll try it with quarters and then at the end of it all go buy myself something fun!

    Thanks for the inspiration! :-)

Hahaha! Hilarious!! Best Chuckle of the Day Award, goes to collingwood!
  • I really love your idea! I have to go to the dollar store (¥100 store) today, anyway, so I think I'll pick up the goods to make myself a nice visual display of my progress.
  • It looks awesome!

What an inspiring idea! Do you have any tips on how I could visually motivate myself to work on my dissertation? I'm such a slacker.
