Talking Get skinny for an occasion in a week TIPS??

I've successfully lost most of the weight I needed to lose, so YES I already know that if you lose 5 pounds fast, you'll probably gain it back. And that's completely fine with me. We've all been there, where we needed to fit into something for an occasion in a week, so please, no lectures!

Any tips? How do you usually go about your week when you need to slim down fast for something?

Thanks!

Diurex and get an appt at a spa for a slimming mud wrap. Iced coffee and a lot of veggies makes me poo if that helps. Asparagus makes me pee.
I would drink a lot of water coming up to the event, but day of, drink less of it-a more moderate version of what Adriana Lima does before a show
"Two days before the show, she will abstain from the daily gallon of water, and "just drink normally". Then, 12 hours before the show, she will stop drinking entirely.

"No liquids at all so you dry out, sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that," she says."
Spanx/shapers but everyone knows that one.
and some pushups right before
Eat the same amount of sodium you normally do-too much or too little can make you bloat.
Thats all I can think of for now

The most effective thing for me is to cut out carbs and sodium as much as possible. Oh, and less strength training, up the cardio. Good luck!

is it pounds you want to lose or size?

losing pounds, big deal - if someone asks how much you weight, lie and say you're five pounds lighter than you are.

if you want to lose size, however, what pixellate said plus i'll add "*impeccable* posture": you'll drop 2 dress sizes if you stand upright and confident (or at least you'll look like you have).

Wow, great tips! I need to look thin in this tight dress I have, and I just got my period and I swear I look ten pounds heavier than yesterday lol.

extreme carb cutting like the first phase of atkins, while also watching your calories.

So if I'm going to cut a lot of carbs and sodium, what CAN I eat? LOL!

I am fairly small and have dropped 5 lbs in a week for an occasion. It's not easy, but doable. It's basically crash dieting, which is not healthy at all. However, if you are reasonable about maintenance after, you don't necessarily gain all the weight back.

To do it, I basically:

- Make my diet very strict. No carbs (except maybe a little rice). Lean meats. Lots of veggies. No fruit. Pretty much no dairy. I eat things like lean beef, turkey breast, spinach, tomatoes, and broccoli.

- Intermittent Fast. I already practice IF, but I will take it to more extremes. I'll fast more (two 24-hour fasts instead of just one), and I will be very careful not to overindulge during re-feeding times. Basically, extreme calorie restriction.

- No carbonated beverages or anything else that could lead to bloat.

I agree, though, that simply practicing good posture is the better way to go. It really will make you look slimmer.

The other thing you might want to consider is good shapewear underneath your dress. It has never worked for me, but some women swear by it.

Undergarments. A good body shaper can do wonders, although uncomfortable as ****. Smooths everything all out. However, when purchasing the bodyshaper KNOW what outfit you are going to wear with it because sometimes things get pushed to different places. Full body shapers work best but can make it so you have to undress completely to use the restroom.

Heels.

NO sodium or alcohol between now and then, lots of water. Cut way back on carbs. Basically you are talking lean bland protein and steamed veggies.

Except for the rice - this is what you want to do. You'll probably only be eating 500-600 calories a day. This has a name it's called PSMF. Chicken breast, tuna and shrimp provide the most protein with the fewest calories. If you're not already taking fish oil pills now would be a good time to start.

As for the water weight ... Continue with your normal sodium intake and normal water intake or increase your water if you're not already drinking a lot. 2 days before the event cut back sodium. 1 day before the event cut out sodium as much as possible and add back in a moderate amount of fruit while cutting back water big time. Only drink when you're thirsty. You should wake up the next day without bloat but also without looking totally depleted.

Shapewear and a steak day. Two eggs in the for the first meal, an apple and large steak for the rest of the day, lots of water. It is usually good for a few pounds of loss and flushes my system better than fruits and veggies. I don't recommend it for all but small weight corrections or an inch of bloating off, but it has worked well for me given the above caveats.

If you have more than a week, go Atkins Induction with your eating in terms of food/low glycemic load, that works amazingly well, too.

ETA - basically exactly what Banananutmuffin and John said

If it were me I would simply go on a 10 day water only fast. I have done this several times and it is perfectly safe provided you:

1. Let your doctor know and get his OK and guidance.

2. Do not even think about it if you are diabetic or have any medical conditions affecting your endocrine or digestion systems.

3. Do not do this if you do not have sufficient fat to burn as energy in lieu of food .

4. Do not go longer than 10 days.

This is by far the fastest way to lose weight but you will find it very difficult to accomplish unless you are very determined and have enough will power. Most people do not. If you are interested I strongly suggest that you Google "10 day water fast diet" and do your homework before beginning.

Larry,

Shapewear, spanx, whatever will pull you in and hold you there for this occasion. Instant and hassle-free.
