Wow, just realized I was competely MIA yesterday!

Getting ready work-wise for my upcoming few days off has been nerve wracking. Never seems to fail when I want to leave we get super busy and my Mom freaks... oh well, I either leave, or have my nervous break down here at my desk.

The deck is coming together beautifully. I hope I can last physically though... my shoulder is killing me! Hopefully we can get most of it finished up today and tomarrow so I can recoup for company on Saturday.

Enough mememe...

Flower - CONGRATULATIONS! Yes, we need details! The church is beautiful, very old fashioned, gothic-y looking.

Kaylets - Good question of the day - 2 answers, "no" to dinner alone and "yes" to movie or vacation. You said they have the a/c on - wasn't it just snowing or raining there???? Brrrrrr.....

Frogger - Good luck on the bra. It seems with wedding under-stuff there's not many choices. You have the corset-type or plain ol' bras. I agree, you corset upon corset would probable feel a bit "confining" (an understatement!).

Hugs to everyone. I'm off as I can feel my shoulder twinge just from typing - how bizarre is that?

Quiet thread today!

Weighed in today. Was at 213, the low point of my recent up and down odyssey. Was VERY HAPPY to be at the low point. Hope to lose a pound soon that I have not lost before. That makes a total of two pounds down in two months. But beats up.

Then the day went to **** in a hand basket. While dh was at dialysis, he had someone call and tell me to cancel his surgical procedure. He was to have gone to hospital today but some tests results got MESSED UP. Again. And the nephrologist told him to canel everything until she gets some results worked out. Then it was a mess until it was worked out what to do about his blood thinners, etc. So I'm back to giving him shots in his tummy.

And now I seem to be working on a sore throat and cold thing. Tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow....

Some interesting development, Punkin, re the post you mentioned the other day. I was reading in 313, am going now to read what happened in 312 since I checked it the other day.

'night, all.

anagram 04-09-2003 11:46 PM

OOps, no it wasn't in 312. It was the Fat**** thread you had mentioned and now that's gone.

Ta-Dum! Thursday

The brink of Friday!!!

Well am off to Baltimore this coming Tuesday....with the munch demons....will have to find something else to occupy my little mind and hands in the car/van.

Have been MIA also...sorry, but have been lurking. Was down with a rotten respiratory thing, which now just sounds like a smokers' hack. It was trying to get me before the play but my sheer force of will kept it at bay...until after the event. I wonder why that same force doesn't work so well with the hand/mouth thing?

Play went well...we raised over $1900.00 profit over the 2 nights...and had a great time preparing and performing it...no picts yet.

Flower...congrats! Frogger...I sense your excitement....Eydie Queen of Pilates  Arabella...sounds like you got a worse case than I did...I'm still popping 4000 mgs of Vit C daily, Kaylet..love the Q of the day...I have both by the way...Friends, that is...Anagram hold firm...you are doing great in the midst of a stessful atmosphere... hi Punkin! wsw, Scooby and all posters and lurkers alike!!!!! This thread is hard to keep up with...probably why I like its' diversity and wit etc....

We have 2 weddings coming up. Our Frogger and our Flower are getting married!

:D

Anagram, 2 pounds in 2 months is definitely progress! I'm still in Plateauville. All these hospital/lab mistakes---Kaylets is right, eveidently they don't know who you are!

Kaylets, about today's question: I have both older and younger friends, maybe more older. I have noticed with my young friends [the ones in their 20's] I feel more 'mothering' or 'mentoring' to them than my older friends. Ah, the weight of experience---but then my older friends are always telling me how young I am!

Anagram, I checked the thread that Punkin had mentioned and my heart really went out to her. She posted another thread titled 'breakdown' and I couldn't find it yesterday. Hope she's okay.

Ceara, nice to see you! Hi Punkin, wsw, Scooby, Arabella, Amarantha, and all. Wow, I felt like the lady on Romper Room with her magic mirror there. Anybody remember her or am I dating myself? :D

anagram 04-10-2003 09:17 AM

Yes, nice things like weddings coming up are balm to me right now. And saloon girls, and all sorts of other interesting things ye Springettes are into.

Eydie, I had missed the breakdown part. But check out the 300 lbs and still trying #313 for more on subject.

I certainly remember Romper Room, both my KIDS went there - how's that for dating?

Questains - re looking in the mirror - not often enough. I usually check when I'm leaving the house but if I don't go out often enough, when I do look, it's an unbelievable mess. For me, it would help to look more.

Friends - most of my life my friends have been a bit older. Now that I'm older, they're closer to my age or a bit younger. my newer friends are younger, the longtime ones are about my age, and many of my older friends are gone. Must get to sorting out my day now that I won't be spending it at the hospital.

Really feeling pretty good this a.m. despite sore throat, runny nose and all of yesterday. Even feeling "thin" - maybe I'll sneak in a little unofficial weigh. You know I want to but then if it's bad maybe I won't feel as good. Nah! it's only a scale.

flower 04-10-2003 10:23 AM

Okay...food has been ordered. We are having the reception at my favorite park. I have the food ordered.
Cold Hors'
Smoked Salmon
Fresh Fruit
Petit Croissants with Turkey, Ham and Roast Beef
Oriental Chicken Salad Boats

Hot Hors
Honey Chicken Wings
Lil Dogs in a Blanket
Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Kabobs

and for good measure Tuxedo Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Water, Fruit Punch, and Ice Tea

a little something for everyone

I know...not a darn thing diety...but I didn't pick it, I am just gonna eat it. :) It was a gift. I totally appreciate the gesture. The cake has been ordered, chocolate with strawberry filling. Licence is done, rings are done. I have to color my greys and pluck my eyebrows and maybe get a tan. I have a few good girlfriends who are definately gonna be there. Chris's best friend from Vegas will be there, as will our moms. Who cares if anyone else shows up! :) Nope...no dress yet. I will be looking on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. If nothing, I have 5 days in Vegas before the wedding to find something. I do well underr pressure. Now, if my allergies/sore throat would go away!!!

anagram 04-10-2003 10:41 AM

Flower, it all sounds so yummy! The strawberries and cake especially.

Punkinseed 04-10-2003 10:42 AM

 everyone and happy Friday eve!

Last full day of work before my mini-vacation. The gang from CA come up Saturday! :cb:

Feeling much better physically - shoulder is almost 100% improved thanks to a few Relafin (Rx anti-inflamitory). Combined with going to bed last night at 7:30pm - I'm feelin' pretty darned good today!

Weeeheeeellll.... looks like our "Fat B****" poster was a big 'ol wolf in sheep's clothing (aka "liar liar pants on fire"). Gods I hate people that feel the need to do that crap. Makes you a bit less enthusiastic to give advise in the future.

Anagram - I'm so sorry this has happened to you n' hubby. Isn't it time for a break???? Goodness....

Kaylets - I'm lovin' your Q of the day! Gotta say, I used to be the older friend, but now they're more mixed... I get a kick out of you posting even when you're running late - true dedication!

Ceara - I was wondering where you'd gone! Feel better soon. I'll send you some virtual Riiiiiicolaaaa!

Eydie - Romper bomper stomper boo! I was mesmerized by that show!

Flower - The menu looks delish! Now, the "diety" comment - oh pullleeez! Goddess willing, you're only going to do this once - enjoy and calories be damned!

:grouphug: everyone! This means you too to Amarantha, WSW, Wildfire and all the others that've been quiet!

Time to scoot...
Terri

This is a backdrop of the park. http://www.co.clark.nv.us/parks/Images/Parks/park14.jpg
Thats what I was thinking about with the calories too. If my nephews eat all the strawberries, I will kill them though! I am really hoping since it is so early, my step sister won't be bringing them. They broke my front window of my house as we were moving out and I never got an appology! Nasty children. They are 17,18 and 9 now... Well, off to feed my child, and myself. Tummy is growling.

deleted2 04-10-2003 12:20 PM

Flower, the chapel is beautiful, the park is lovely, and the food sounds incredible! It's going to be great!

Punkinseed, I feel like a fool over that person. She got the b**** part right anyway! [oooh, did that sound harsh?] And 'poof! begone!' to her!

Did Tae Bo for the first time in months this morning and I must say that I did very well. I've been working on my stamina.

Raining like mad here, and I'm off to work. I have to do another reception tonight for about 25 people---hopefully I can stay away from the really caloric stuff! :) Weigh-in tomorrow for me. I hope the scale gods will be kind......

Kaylets 04-10-2003 08:25 PM

Thursday evening!

I looked in the car mirror tonight and said- If you are meeting people you havent seen for months tomorrow, you need a haircut tonight!
So-- ran out and am glad I did because I don't really look enough either and wind up giving the wrong impression.

Flower- sounds terrific! And yes, of course, this is one of those days that it doesnt matter one bit whats on the menu!

Don't ask me why but somehow, I smelled a rat when I read it- I know its so easy to say that now that its been proven the poster was a phony but it just seemed like too many personal details for such a "new " poster. But what do I know??

Gotta run- hot tub and YaYa Sisterhood awaits.

Kaylets 04-11-2003 06:08 AM

Finally Friday!!

Hello all!

Big Nor'easter bearing down on us with very, very heavy winds and flood warnings-- At least its not snow warnings! It makes me
sore and achy and I am cranky today. Trying to make the best of it but I sure wish I could call out !!
BUT-- What can you do??

Today's thought is:
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared with waht lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today's question is:"If you could increase your IQ by forty points by having an ugly scar stretching from your mouth to your eye, would you do so?" Question #116 from the Book of Questions, Gregory Stock, Ph.d.

Take care all!

anagram 04-11-2003 09:01 AM

Sorry you can't stay home, Kaylets. I have the achies too but am hoping my hot shower will help. Cold thing still raging. Nasty, gloomy day at the moment.

Punkin, Queen of the day, enjoy your dear friends from CA.

As for the question, no, never. I'm not vain. But it wouldn't be worth mutilation.

Empress, if you're lurking, hope the workload's not too bad this weekend. You are missed.
