Way to go guys & proof of progress here

Way to go DCapulet & DaugT, staying on program and losing the pounds!

My "run" was about half walking because I am not in very good shape! But I did it. Have been getting to the gym almost every day as planned. So today (after STILL weighing in each day around the same as where I started or a pound over) I decided to try out the inches not pounds theory and tried on some pre-pregnancy suit pants that I couldn't zip up only a couple of weeks ago.

Miracles of miracles, ladies, I got them on!!!! They're not exactly work appropriate at their current tightness, but I might wear them anyway just to celebrate!

Thank you for all the support. I look forward to reading your replies and it helps keep me going on those days when I really don't want to.

DaugT 04-03-2012 07:47 PM

I really hope that scale moves for you soon. I know it's coming for me. I tend to hit long plateaus and it's what's set me back in the past and I give up. I am already talking to myself about it so I will be ready when it happens. LOL
You do doing so great through it, and that is AWESOME on the pants. What a great indication that things are happening and screw the numbers. LOL

Just got back from my 2nd Zumba of the week. Trying to go Mon and Tuesdays.

Hope everyone else is doing great so far. Eight weeks left! AH!

LockItUp 04-04-2012 09:11 AM

Didn't get my 2 lbs this week, possibly because of TOM, Idk. Maybe next week I'll get 2 plus some.

dcapulet 04-04-2012 09:54 PM

welcome to all the new posters!

daug - :high: I like your outlook.

July
- the scale WILL move!

Lockitup - TOM is lame - next week it's all you!!

I made it to the gym this morning (thankfully, because I need to be up at 5am tomorrow for commuting) and have had an OP day. I'm finding I'm not hungry - which I know is not great. I'm going to try and be on a schedule for eating.

Hoping for a good WI this week, but with TOM, who knows?

UnderTheMoon 04-05-2012 12:11 AM

first weigh-in for this goal is Friday!!!!! I havent been walking like i should, i need to get on that!

DaugT 04-05-2012 07:22 AM

Lockitup ... so close to the 2 though!! Great job! Hope you see that little extra next week.

Rose WOW that is an incredible loss for one week! Must feel great!!

porusgal You should definitely join us!

dcapulet 5:00 is early, I've been trying to make it my regular time to get up, so I can work out and it's a struggle for sure. Hoping I can make it a habit. Sounds like TOM is affecting a bunch of us this week.

Moon Hope you have a great weigh-in on Friday!

I am already thinking about the chocolate I am NOT going to eat this weekend! LOL My first holiday test. AH!

dcapulet 04-05-2012 09:48 PM

Daug - I have struggled with this easter thing. PB eggs, Caburys cream - ALL my favorites!! We got some candy for the kids (but only a small amount) and my husband wanted more! I wouldn't back down though, so we compromised. I may have a sweet treat (some no carb something) but I'm really going to try and stay away from it.

Easter dinner will be Shepard's Pie - and I will only have a SERVING SIZE of potatoes with it (a holiday first!) The way I see it, holidays are going to keep coming up and I need to figure out how to live with them.

Today's commute was ok, work was ok, but when I came home - BAM! I fell asleep and now I feel groggy and a little achy. Gym tomorrow though, and of course, WI!

Truer words were never spoken!!! I am really seeing Easter as a pre-test to the holiday season come November. We're doing the same thing... less less candy. What would happen typically here is we don't want the kids eating it all, so to 'protect' them we eat it! AH! You know, the garbage wasn't an option. :dizzy:
Got the kids a bunch of $1-store-esque trinkets to fill up the space. We don't usually do a lot of Easter anyway thank goodness. I shopped for our dinner last night and made sure to get just enough, no leftovers! Luckily I don't host a large family gathering or anything, so that helps to not completely be surrounded all weekend with food.

dcapulet 04-06-2012 09:29 AM

welcome sally and korji!

Daug
- I love your plan - no leftovers :) Right now, I'm looking for a recipe for a fruit type dessert without alot of carbs. Good luck with that, I know!

UnderTheMoon 04-06-2012 05:32 PM

Update: lost 2 pounds on my weigh in today! I have 23 more to go for this challenge :D

superchick36 04-06-2012 09:06 PM

I almost didn't get on because I still haven't lost any weight:( It is that TOM but still it's hard to go another week without seeing the scale move. I did exercise 4 times this week, plus we are going hiking tomorrow. Maybe next week will be the week I lose a pound or two.

Hope everyone else is doing good this week :)

DaugT 04-10-2012 08:21 AM

Great job, Moon! Congrats on those 2 pounds!

Sounds like you're doing wonderfully with the exercise chick !! Hope you had a great hike!!

Only down a pound this week, battling TOM stuff myself. I am pretty excited about having a very successful Easter though!! No chocolate was eaten.. that is a miracle for me! LOL We made a carrot cake, had a piece, and DH took the rest of it to work yesterday so it got out of the house! And no leftovers... so had our meal, our cake, and moved on with life. Feels great!! :broc:

Awesome job moon!
Superchick - you rock for showing up to post. I hide too sometimes - no shame here, just game :)
Daug - Congrats on the 1lbs lost, and more importantly, for handling Easter so well. It's just plain tough - how to eat "normally' without going overboard? Sounds like you got moderation!

I went to the gym last night, and yesterday was a totally OP day - feels very very good. TOM seems to FINALLY be gone, and I'm hoping to see a good loss this Friday :) Have a great day all!

Yesterday was not 100% OP - nothing off my plan, but a little more food and sodium then I normally eat. I felt gross this am.

Today - ALL OP, gym already, but I nearly cut the tip of my thumb off! Still, doing much better today ;)

I have a two-part goal, first part is weightloss (of course!) which has been happening every week, some weeks better than others. The second part for this challenge is to walk 4-5 times a week. This seems to be the harder part for me! I get so busy that i just dont feel like it and want to nap instead. BUT, this week i rocked it! I found a bike/walking trail close to home and I walked it to the end, walked around a neighborhood, and walked it all the way back home on Tuesday. I walked for over 2 hours at a 2 mph pace. Today I walked the same trail from my starting point, to where it ends, and back. I walked for 75 minutes at a 3 mph pace :D ITS A START!!!

superchick36 04-12-2012 09:50 AM

Way to go Lockitup, Dcapulet, DaugT and UnderTheMoon.

I have been doing good this week working out and longing calories so I'm hoping for a pound or two weight loss for my weigh in tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day!

julyfirefly 04-12-2012 02:34 PM

The good: A bunch of people have asked me if I have lost weight recently.
The bad: Scales still stuck.
The ugly: I went in for a doctor's appointment yesterday (reviewing an MRI they asked me to get a couple weeks ago) and was told I have to have surgery on the 26th and --if it goes well--be on crutches for 2 weeks and in recovery for a couple months after that. If it goes badly, they wake me up and tell me I have cancer and they might have to amputate! Eek. Thankfully they say it's very rare and probably all the biopsies will be benign and they'll just take everything out. So am going with that. But, whole thing is really putting this in perspective.

dcapulet 04-13-2012 09:29 AM

July - to you! I really hope everything goes well with your surgery. Sending love and good wishes your way!!

wow, firefly, talk about a lot to take in!! Very relieved to hear that cancer is a very rare possibility! Please keep us updated on how you are doing through it all.
This weightloss thing is tough enough without having a major health issue getting in the way as well. :(
Many positive thoughts for you that you have as quick and smooth a recovery from the surgery as possible!:hug:

superchick36 04-13-2012 09:37 AM

I weighed in this morning and am 1# lighter. The scale hasn't moved in a while so I won't complain that it wasn't more. I worked every day this week and logged all my food and can definitely see where I need to improve. Next week will be better.

julyfirefly- Will be praying your surgery goes well and that they don't find any cancer.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

DaugT 04-13-2012 11:40 AM

Way to go on the weight loss UnderTheMoon and Rose426. You both rock!

julyfirefly 04-14-2012 01:49 PM

Thank you everyone! So frustrating to be waylaid mid-challenge, but at least I am in relatively good health going into the surgery, so it was not all for naught. And I'm going to keep going to the gym right up to surgery since the condition isn't particularly painful for now. After that, it will be back to the pool. Yay to seeing the scale move ladies!!

DaugT 04-17-2012 11:25 AM

Congrats Moon and Rose!! You guys are both doing so awesome!!! I think I'm going to throw a party when I'm in the 180's!! LOL!!

julyfirefly Sounds like you're in great spirits and have a great plan to keep things going as best you can with the cruddy hand you've been dealt.

Down 2 pounds this week and feeling good. My cravings have diminished SOO much!! They honestly used to control me, I could not function until I fed that craving. So It feels good to be the one in control over them. Hoping it stays that way!
Really hoping to pull a 3 this week... this is my one 'cycle not screwing up the numbers' week... so gotta take advantage. LOL
Been keeping up with my Zumba, dance class, and have done 8 days of the 30 day shred so far.
DH and I had a date this weekend, and it felt great to check out the menu beforehand, figure out all the calories, and go in knowing what to order, and what I was getting myself into, we even included sharing a dessert! YEY! :D
