Default Not seeing a difference

So Ive lost 19.2 lbs so far on my weight loss journey.. but I see no difference in my body at all. Maybe a little in my face-looking thinner but overall I feel like I look the same. My clothes felt a little better after the first like 6 lbs but I havent seen or felt a change since then. Its frustrating because Im working so hard and Im thrilled that the scale is moving but I want to see results as well. Has this happened to anyone else?

we are always our worst critics. Your cloths should be "bigger" if you haven't already take a before pic and every 10 lbs take a new pic. You will start SEEING the difference !

GREAT JOB on 19.2 !!!!!!

Yes! Don't give up! It happened to me when I lost the first 30lbs, I felt great but like you, I didn't see a whole lot of change happening. Despite that I kept going and I've finally begun to see more definition in my face/neck, hands and feet. The more you keep going, the thicker parts will start getting more defined as well, you just have to stop thinking too much about it because it'll drive you insane lol You're doing a good job, don't give up

Maybe too late now, but before/after pictures can work great for this. A lot of times it can be hard to tell because we see ourselves all the time.

You may be shedding fat from your organs; which is the BEST!

Firstly congrats on your progress! And yes, I have had this happened to me before, mainly because I feel like I have a weird body shape and when I start losing weight my middle area sheds the fat really really slow, so I don't notice my clothes fitting any better. You could do aerobics to shape your body or take Pilates classes. It will certainly make you feel better.

Weight come off slowly from all over our bodies. It is harder for us to see the changes in ourselves because we are looking in the mirror every day and don't notice the small changes. If someone hasn't seen you for awhile they will notice. Before pictures are great as a comparison. I never had any because I avoided the camera when I was overweight.

Congrats on your loss so far Pretty much repeating what everyone else said above but it does take time. And when you first start out it takes a bit longer because there's a greater amount of area to lose weight. Keep at it and you will see a difference. Take pics every 10 pounds or so in the same outfit...you may not see a difference between each 10 pounds but you definitely will between each 20. Your doing great

Also, take your measurements--another great way to keep track of small changes. Congrats on your loss so far!

thanks for responding everyone! You all were completely right. I think I was just a little frustrated because day to day I dont see a difference.. but I looked back at some photos of me a few months ago and I can TOTALLY see a change in the way my body is looking. And even if I cant feel it the longer I stick with it the better Ill feel.

In my past experience, the heavier you are the more you have to lose to see a difference. When I went from 194 to 146 I didn't see a difference until I lost 30 lbs. Then as I got smaller the changes were more apparent every 10 lbs I lost.

Keep at it and you will start to see your hard work pay off

Take some pictures!! It can be hard to see a difference in yourself. Also, try going out and trying on some clothes in the next size down Sometimes we get so used to the fit of our clothes that we don't realize we are in a new size!

Oh yeah this. I remember when I went from 190-170...everyone ELSE saw a bit of a difference, but I didn't notice anything. I just saw that I needed to go down a size in clothes. Well, my mom did. She yelled at me and gave me some of her 10s and 12s, haha.

When I got down into 140s and lower, changes were apparent every five pounds or so. At this point if I lose ONE pound people notice.

This is the "paper towel" theory.. kwim? Its like a roll of paper towels.. When its big, you're all like 'i have so many left, hah!' and then when its all of the sudden small, you SEE EVERY TOWEL as it gets smaller... The more weight you lose, the less paper towels youll have... all of the sudden itll be like.. WOAH. Where did I go?

Trust me. One day, itll hit you. It took me about 60lbs, lol.

Keep going!!

You're doing a great job. Don't pay so much attention to clothes size. (yeah right I know)

I'm about the same starting weight/height as you and didn't drop a single size until 250. Larger sizes span more lbs. apparently. Don't let it it discourage you. It WILL happen.
