Happy Saturday

Good morning ladies! Congrats Angie on the 2 lbs. :dancer: So TOM hit you a little early too huh? Me too. Slight differences for me and you this week: You lost weight, I didn't. I "got some", you didn't  ROFL  Now that I think about it, I would've taken the 2 lb loss over the ya know... nah, who am I kidding? I've noticed that as we've gotten older, quantity has dwindled while quality has vastly improved. So there. I am such a goof.
So you're going to taunt us with a picture of your plate-sized honeybuns are you? drooling already... :T

Well as I reported on the challenge thread, no loss for me this week. Still holding @ 183. I haven't had an OP weekend for so long. I am going to try very hard today. I usually do great during the week then whatever weight was lost is packed back on the weekend. It takes me the week sometimes longer to get back to my starting point *sigh* .

Sandy, you're hubby is a lobsterman? That must be some tough work. Tell him I said thank you very much. I love eating lobster. I love eating crab and shrimp, oysters, mussels...I love eating, hence my presence on this site. My hubby used to fish on an aku (tuna) boat during the summers when he was a boy. He loves the ocean and sun and surf. I can't swim, avoid the sun for the most part and only go to the beach if I'm forced too. Opposites attract in our case.

Well, gotta get my butt up and moving. Kempy, Chris, Washu, Gargoyle and any other lurkers out there, have a great weekend and be safe!

MissWashu 03-08-2003 02:59 PM

 the cat washing... I have a few scratches. She got me good in one place, it actually bruised ... ok, I'll spare Angie the details... We started out in the sink, but she got all feisty so I threw her into the shower and held the door closed while I targeted her w/ the nozel. She made the most god-awful sounds... but for the most part behaved.

good year on the taxes, I guess. I also got a refund, had to pay mucho last year...

Oh, state visits would be so much fun! We'd have to go the Pike Place and have a ball. Fresh seafood, fruits and veg. from Yakima... however, we'd have to do WA before LA 'cause I don't think you'd ever get rid of me Kempy. RE: aligator meat, sounds interesting, I'm game. Has anyone ever tried Ostrich? It's a red meat, sposed to be much leaner and healthier than beef.

So, I weighed on WEd.(?) and had lost 2#, down to 173. I weigh in today, and I'm at 178!!!! :yikes: I know that I haven't eaten perfect, but I haven't been that bad... however, I have eaten alot of salty foods... and not been drinking enough water... kick me in the butt girls! I KNOW what I should be doing, but I'm just not doing it.

Chris - good to see you again! We're all so excited about the baby. When do you know 'for sure', and yeah, how long 'til it happens? It is so great that your family is behind you both w/ this too. My thought are with you. :goodvibes

Congrats on all of the losses and maintains!!!! The rest of us gotta keep movin', right. :high:

Sandy, I weighed 265.5 pounds about 2 years ago and I lost it all and got to 130 then I just kinda lost track and gave up until I got back up to 206.5 and I came here. It was pretty easy to lose it but the maintaining was harder than I thought and of course Chinese would bloat me up 5 pounds and I would get frustrated and eat again. I got to the point where I figured to **** with it if I am going to gain weight AND exercise for 1 1/2 hours every day then it isn't worth it. Now I know it was all worth it and then some. I think for me it took gaining it back to appreciate it and I intend to maintain this time no matter what. I just need to keep my cool if my weight fluctuates and stop thinking in terms of all or nothing.

MishWashu, I would like to try ostrich meat too. I heard it is very healthy. I can just hear your kitty now. MEOOOOWWWWW!!!!!My cats are so feisty today it must be spring fever.

I actually buy 2 lobsters on Saturday and pick them then split the meat into 4 portions and mix it with vermicelli, garlic and lowfat parmesan. Me and Jay eat it for Saturday and Sundays suppers. It cost $16.00 for the lobster today so I figure that is still cheaper than Chinese for 1 day.

MissWashu 03-09-2003 02:18 PM

MMMMmm, Angie I've only had lobster once, at a bbq. Straight from the cooler to the boiling water, then to the plate. by the time it was through, it looked like the lobster had won teh fight I had so many sratches and cuts. Your spaghetti sounds delightful.

Mel - how is your weekend going? I've installed a new safety harness on the wagon for you. It's made of bungee so that even if you do fall off, you get snapped right back on. Pronto.

Well, I'm just checking in on a lazy Sunday. If the weather holds I think I'll take the blades to the lake again. Hope everyone is having a good day.

melekalikimaka 03-09-2003 05:11 PM

Washu, I think the harness is working! I had a bit of an episode late last night but I've been really good today--it's a miracle for me especially on a Sunday. We're having crab legs tonight for dinner so I'm being careful right now. Thanks! We're having Seattle weather right now. Really gray skies and a slight drizzle. Looks like it's going to pour tonight though.

It's not been a lazy weekend for me at all. I *****ed about it in my journal...we've been cleaning up the clutter big time at our house. I kind of like the physical activity though. Makes me feel strong. Roar! Also makes me feel really punchy--like I want to kick my bonehead BIL's butt!

Anyway, just took a breather and thought I'd check out the posts. Have a good rest of the day all.

HONEYBUN!!!

Here is the honeybun. I am not trying to tempt anyone but I had to show how big they are. Sorry!!!

angieME 03-09-2003 06:20 PM

APPLE FRITTER!

Here is an apple fritter. I really don't see how people eat a whole one.

peekabooangel 03-09-2003 06:31 PM

Okay Angie, is that a small plate or a big one (dinner plate)
and my dh says could you fax one over and he will taste test....LOL

angieME 03-09-2003 07:47 PM

It is a big plate. The styrofoam ones you can get for suppers at Walmart. Tell him if I could I would be more than happy too. hehe

angieME 03-09-2003 07:52 PM

I guess I have to cave and buy some new sneakers. With all the walking we have been doing this weekend my pinky toe has rubbed on the next one over and boy doesn't it hurt now. It rubbed the skin off. OUCH. I had to do the bike tonight and I hate the bike!!

Wow Sandy, You are almost to 20 pounds gone. Good job!!! Don't you just love the feeling of seeing the scales go down. That always drives me to the next day. Maybe I am weird.

SvelteChicky 03-10-2003 08:59 AM

Bad Bad Angie, tempt us like that!! Yummy pictures, you must have a great camera. My pictures never make my mouth water!!

Well, I'm back again, hoping to make myself check in, even though i'm so side tracked lately. I am very proud of you guys though. I see your stats changing, wow angie, you're doing so great, get a more updated picture, will ya? I remember the first time you updated our picture, you looked so different from the first one... you seem to change in your face a lot... you look wonderful darling!

I stepped on the scale, and to my surprise, the exercise is continuing to up my metabolism: I"m weighing in at 147 pounds, even with PMS! Thank you Jesus!! I can't believe it. Cause hubby made a very traditional english country dinner Sat. night, for me and my dad, who was here for dinner. I felt like a giant grape. But, i guess the exercise and good food choices is still giving me results. I kinda figured i'd get to my goal,a nd then maintain it, but it looks like my body has another goal in mind... what a fabulous day!!

We're so grateful to our family and friends, because they continue to support us in our baby dream, and we'll show you our web page when it's up and online, probably June, if not sooner. I'll let you in on it when it's there. Pray for us girls. "ll check back in later! Ciao Bellas!

angieME 03-10-2003 10:34 AM

Wow Chris, still losing huh? That would be great to step on the scale and get a pleasant surprise like that. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I'll have Brit take a pic soon. I have to recharge my battery pack. I don't think my face is changing alot now. I think I lost all the weight in my face first.

Kempy, How was your weekend?

Noelle, How did you do with your BBQ yesterday?

Sandy and MissWashu, good morning girls.

essey 03-10-2003 11:00 AM

You people are doing so good. I weighed myself and nothing. Oh well!! I am not going to give in. I did my walk this morning and my job searching. Hopefully I will not have to search to much more. My boss called me and does not want me looking for a new job she is hoping I will be called back soon.(ME TOO) Hope everyone is well.
I made a strawberry cake this weekend. It required oil and eggs. I put in the oil but used only egg whites. It looks yummy but I don't dare to touch it. The frosting alone has got to be 200 calories per serving. I did not put any butter in it. Not much fat but alot of calories.
Lunch is rolling around and I am starved.

angieME 03-10-2003 11:25 AM

essay, I don't even use the oil in cakes and they come out the same. I just up the water alittle and use egg whites. I make a glaze too for frosting. I usually do cocoa powder, milk and confectionery sugar. I make it really thick and them microwave it for 30 seconds to make it thin and spread it on the cake and it will get harder as it cools so I don't use any butter. YUM. I can't even tell it is lowfat. I eat a piece every Saturday for a treat.

Kempyd 03-10-2003 12:51 PM

We sell Ostrch sticks here. They are called Ostrim. They kind of taste like a slim jim but with out all of the fat and grease. I love them, very low in fat.

You guys have been on a roll this weekend. We got busy around the house so I couldn't get on line. We are trying to get ready for next weekend so we are doing all of the things to the house that need to get done now. We still need to go bug a large piece of luggage. I really don't like to spend money on that.

You guys are really doing good. I love to hear all of the positivness going on on the thread. I will be back later when I get more time to chat.
