  • Quote: Use those rocks consisted of hurtful words as stepping stones to achieve your goal that much faster.
    I LOVE THIS!
  • Good for you for not taking it too personally...but I totally understand the frustration of working hard and not having your body reflect it necessarily.

As for the scumbags who make comments to people, I really feel sorry for them. Clearly they're miserable and lack social skills. Miraculously I've only had comments made to me a handful of times despite being obese almost my entire life, so when it happens I'm shocked and immediately identify that behavior as something that civilized people don't engage in. I never take it as something indicative of most people or even many. Yea, it feels like a slap in the face, but ultimately the problem is with them.

    Stay strong
  • He's a jackass. YOU are the winner here.

I know the high road is to ignore it, but my impulse is always to snap back: "I can lose the weight; can you lose the rude?"
  • Quote: What a jerk! One time a few years ago I was at an outdoor concert in line to get a drink and this guy has the nerve to cut in front of me and says "make you sure order a Bud LIGHT sweetheart" It totally ruined my night and I'm not proud to say when he got his beer I grabbed it out of his hand and threw it in his face! Luckily most people aren't like this idiot. Almost makes you feel like carrying around a sign saying "leave me alone I AM losing weight!" Keep your chin up - you can do this!
You may not be proud but I am!

To the OP - congrats on resisting a binge. May you have many more victories (without humiliation as a trigger)!
  • Quote: You are strong and YOU can lose weight where HE can't fix being stupid

    Hang in there!
Exactly! You can and are changing your life which is AWESOME! Keep up the great work!!
  • Your should have said "I can lose weight, but you will always be ugly."

OR, you could have looked around as if you were looking to see who he was talking about!
  • All of you guys are right. I'm doing this for me anyway, it doesn't matter what anyone else says. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing. And try to focus more on that and less of what people are thinking or saying.
