Default Cabbage soup

I made some cabbage soup I put different veggies and spices in it. I had two bowls of it and it's pretty tasty. I'm going to see how this works, I've heard quite a bit it about it, people claim to have lost weight from it so I hope it will be the same for me. I'm new to this site and when I registered I was 256 today I am at 248. I'm going to post my weight loss progress; hopefully this will be motivation for me to stick to it. I have to say although I'm looking to lose weight by eating cabbage soup I don't have a set amount of pounds I'm looking to shed from the soup. None the less I will be posting my results...I need this to work because I want to be able to pick out a beautiful dress for my graduation and not have to settle for what fits; I'm so over having to settle for what will fit instead of being able to fit what I like.

If this is just some quick fad, "I need to lose ten pounds quick" scheme and then you will return to regular eating, ok fine whatever. Lose the ten or so pounds and then get back to a balanced diet, but this is not a diet you can do long term. It's not something you can do month after month and then MAINTAIN that loss.

What happens, even if you can get to your goal of 160, when you start to eat real food again? What is your plan for KEEPING the weight off?

You need to find a plan that you can live with. You need to find a way to not regain the weight. Eating a cabbage diet is probably not it.

I do love cabbage, and I love cabbage in soup. But I agree with Berry that if this is a cabbage soup diet it is not sustainable. First off, I'd get tired of it. Second, how often do you eat the soup and where else are you getting nutrition? For me, variety is necessary to ensure I'm not bored and hit all necessary vitamins, proteins, fats and carbs.

Often I have a bowl of soup with a salad or side of fruit for lunch. But basically, for me, it's about reducing total calories to a level to consistently lose weight at a safe rate while maintaining an adequate amount of nutrition.

Find what will work for your for the rest of your life.

I like cabbage soup, and keep some in the freezer, for days, when I've had all my good food and need a snack. It is a good low cal, healthy option.

However, it's not a lifestyle or plan. One can not live on cabbage soup alone.

Our bodies need more than cabbage/veggie soup.

I understand why you don't want to *settle* for the dress, however, in the long run, you will be happier, if you find a good balance of healthy nutrition, exercise and the now and then cake or drink or what ever, that you can sustain for life.
