You know, the best part of this, though, is that you realized what was going on and STOPPED. You didn't use this as an excuse to go back to bad habits and now you're working on making changes to prevent it happening again. And seriously, a whole year without binging is just amazing!!!!
So think of this as part of your learning curve.
FWIW, I've also been having a rough time lately. My parents visited and I hear you on the overeating around the holidays and how it's considered 100% acceptable. It's hard to deal with and it's so easy to just join in when everyone else is stuffing themselves. Add to that I'm on my second business trip in the last couple of weeks so I don't even get to have much say over my food and I don't have access to my gym anymore. It's been hard but it's just something to get through. I figure until after everything settles down I just need to do the best I can and not let myself get overwhelmed with guilt. There really isn't anything else I CAN do at this point.
