Default New Tall Chick to 3Cs - Anyone feel like I do?

Bear with me, this is long.... REad the first part if you just want to answer the question, the second is my intro to myself...

My ISSUE is with the SEEING any changes in weight loss/fitness. Since I'm so tall, 10 lbs is NOTHING. I'm still wearing the same jeans (although looser) and sometimes it makes me discouraged - kind of like "Well, if I can't tell the difference - then why even bother". Of course my Fiancee "loves me how ever I look" (he met me closer to 190 after a cortisone shot), but I'm NOT trying to get fit for him, or for our wedding, or for anyone else - now I sound like a whining little girl, hahaha!

Does anyone else feel like this? I'm guessing more men do since height plays into it so much.

What are ways you have coped: measurements, clothing, photos, etc?

Thanks y'all!

------

So, I'm new here (I'll get my profile set up soon, soon, soon) and I've joined because I've heard such great things from my friends about the site (none of which are on the forum though - sad face).

I'm 26 y/o, 6'1" and currently 171 lbs: down from 184 in March, then I stopped caring, and now I'm down from 176 beginning August 31st). I wear a Size 12 Jeans on the bottom and 34DD on top, but dresses fluctuate between 8-14... I only have my measurement from when I was 184 - so I need to do THOSE again!

Since Sep. 1st, I've been taking photos of my self to see if I can SEE any change in my body over time... but that's the issue... SEEING results.

I've been doing this pretty basically - calorie counting, working out more ("more" not being anything specific - basically when my neck doesn't kill me).

I don't have REAL (160 is my "mini) goal in mind because this will be the first time I've "dieted" and worked out TOGETHER in maybe 4-5 years and I don't want to get stuck on a number... or a size... blah, blah, insert positive self-reflection-here.

So I guess my goal is to STILL be able to eat at a comfortable level (2,000 cal/day and maintain a basic workout routine that I enjoy (20-30min most days of the week). Whatever size/weight I can do THAT at... holla!

I know exactly what you are saying. I am 6' tall and cuurently around 162lbs. I was at 190lbs pre-kids and have lost 27lbs or so in the 5 years or so. I feel like I looked better maybe 10 lbs ago because I was much more toned and careful about what I ate. Now, I weigh less but don't look any better for it-I actually think I look worse, if that makes sense??
I'm in a medium top and usually 10-12 in pants. I wish I coul just lose my paunchy tummy and tone up my butt and thighs without woorying about what I eat etc. but I guess that's the reason why things don't work like that, right??

I used to dance in high school and I weight 175 consistently (I didn't worry either way), I was more toned, but still the same size. When I moved to SF and stopped dancing I immediately lost like 10lbs, went down ONE size and then... gained... the freshman.... 30!!!!

It's funny, I was 190-195 for a long time, I worked out, I dieted, I worked (as an employee) at gyms and fitness centers but I didn't lose weight until I just kind of "gave up" one summer - then, magically, I went back to 175. It's still my body's favorite weight, but now that I'm more sedentary (not working 60+ hours of college-to-make-my-rent jobs) I notice that it just sits differently now...
I'm not too worried about my tummy (I actually like how women look with the "pooch", it's what makes us women, lol) for me it's the "love handles" area b/c as I'm sure you know - pants don't EVER sit where they are supposed to when you'er tall - So i'm ALWAYS battling with my muffin top (mmm... muffins...)

I have a couple of friends that are smaller after kids - and I think it's all of the running around you have to do
