I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I'm the same way. For me, discomfort makes me want to eat because somewhere in my warped thinking, I view food as comfort. My problem is that I have chronic daily migraines, so I put on weight because I used the migraines as an excuse to eat. But you know what happened? I was just miserable from two things instead of one (migraine and weight, instead of just the migraine). This time, I made a decision to stop using food as an excuse. I still have a hard time doing that, but most of the times, I succeed and that's what matters.
What I suggest is finding something very low in calories to eat. Instead of eating pastry, have watermelon or a veggie and fruit smoothie. The point is, just try to eat low cal things....is gum ok? If so, that can keep your mouth busy. Hopefully, you'll feel much better soon and not have to worry about this anymore. Hang in there!
