Default Intermittent Fasting and Mental Focus

Hi Intermittent Fasters!
I've been doing an eating window for a couple of months now, and it works for me, on a lot of levels. The main area that it's not working is mental focus. Around 1-2 PM, I just run out of gas. I can do really basic mechanical things, but thinking creatively (which I need to do because of my job) is out of the question. Whatever I'm working on, my mind drifts to food. My body does not feel hungry, but I'm so distracted mentally.
My window is in the evening, from 4-10. I do this, because after I eat a meal of any decent size, my body just starts to drag and feel tired, so it doesn't work for me to eat in the middle of the day. Plus, I like being able to go to dinners without having issues.
Anyone have a similar issue? Suggestions?

For me, if I eat late at night, I will wake up in the morning with zero desire to eat anything at all. Maybe try a protein drink a little bit before bed? It might keep you feeling a little more centered during the fasting window.

I know how you feel with the dragging thing..Maybe adjust your window and eat several small meals during the beginning of the window so you don't drag?

@doopdoop I tend to have my bigger meal towards the end of the window, and I get up early (around 6). The bottoming out doesn't happen until later. Maybe I should make sure I have more protein in my meals though.

@Angelique Maybe it would help if I shifted my window forward an hour or two and then had a couple of snacks late in the work day.

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas!
