Hey, I found ya'll. I like the name Shrinking Violets, it's fitting. what strange conversations I've been reading. I can't comment on getting 'frisky' as my TOM is purely hormonal, no physical. ... ??? But, OMG you have got me craving something bad, fried foods and chocolate and potato chips, OH MY!

So, as far as being on a plateau, I think I can deal.... weighed and MEASURED today.... drum roll please. 179# and 3.5 inches overall lost!!!!!!!!!! 1.25" off of both my waist and upper hips. And .25" from my arms and thighs, both of which I had given up hope of ever changing. YAY!!!!! I think I will be smiling all day.

Speaking of today, I need to get to the gym. I'm not going to bother with the step class, but I still need to go do cardio and make up on the lower body weights that I skipped yesterday.

I'll check in again tonight.
hugs to all

Good job Washu! Who does the measuring for you? I hat having mine taken I usually just rely on my clothes to tell if I have lost anything.

I guess you are just now finding out how strange we are here. lol I love the fact that we are all a little strange in our own ways I think that is what makes us such good freinds.

Chris, wow, you are down to 158? I remember when we started talking to each other you were around 170. That was in October so girl you have been doing great. Of course I think all of us here have been doing great. I think it is great that we keep on keepn' on. That shows that we really want ot make a change in our lives.

melekalikimaka 01-10-2003 03:53 PM

I remember weighing-in @ 158 when I was 14 years old (5'2" tall)--3rd period gym class physicals. I THOUGHT I was soooo fat. If I only knew what would become of me! Here I am 17 years later--1 inch taller, 12 inches wider (just guessing) and struggling at keeping it under 200 lbs. Bleah!

angieME 01-10-2003 03:59 PM

Hey, You guys have been busy today!! LOL I am a shorty too. 5'2".

Congrats Miss Washu!!! You are doing awesome. WE are SHRINKING VIOLETS!!!YEAH!!!!

Kempy, I have a notebook with my weights and dates in it. It seems to help but I only write the weight down once a week. Even though I have "Unofficial Weigh Ins" haha

Noelle, Did you ever convince your son that the motorcycle wasn't his? I thought that was so cute. I remember spelling out gifts to people until they could figure it out.

I am so glad it is Friday. I have to go to Bangor tomorrow and buy some order books and Brittany is getting a new clarinet. Can anyone say headache? LOL

Kempyd 01-10-2003 04:25 PM

Hey Angie, I finally saw where Bangor is. I was watching the weather channel and tere were in the north east and there it was. Boy, you really are up there. I wonder how long of a drive it would be for me? I think they have a web site that you can figure that kind of stuff out on. You can enter your address and the address of the place that you are going and it gives you exact directions with the amount of time it would take. Of course, we would have to take some of the time off b/c Joe drives like a mad man. lol

The weirdest feeling just came over me. I want to have a roast beef po'boy for dinner. I sure do hope that this passes. I know for a fact that they are not healthy for me.

angieME 01-10-2003 04:28 PM

That sounds good. What is it? I am making taco salad tonight with WOW Doritos. You would think I sell them wouldn't ya? LOL

melekalikimaka 01-10-2003 04:39 PM

OMG Kempy, stop it! You're making me drool all over my keyboard. I had a roast beef po'boy from Mother's. I still remember it even though it was 4 1/2 years ago. I have this habit of searching on "Google" everytime I hear of something new--like that Whoppie pie for instance. I typed in "whoopie pie recipe" and poof--there's a listing of websites with all recipes. I just did the same for the po'boy and and salivary glands are working overtime. Angie, from what I remember its a sandwich made with italian bread and the filling inside is fall apart tender--like "pulled or shredded" meat: roast :flame: beef :moo: , chicken, even oysters, with mushrooms, garlic, onions, seasoned with that cajun stuff....gravy oozing...3 Brawny paper towel kind of sandwich.

Oh yeah, you should buy stock in WOW products. I've never tried them myself (too scared to see if there are any ill effects) but it's great that you can eat them without guilt. :)

Kempyd 01-10-2003 04:39 PM

Do you mean a roast beef po'boy? It is roast beef dripping in gravy with mayo (I usually don't eat that) lettuce and tomato. It is served hot on french bread. It is so awesome. It is so juicey that it runs down your amrs when you eat it. Man, I need to stop talking about it. I think I just heard me stomach growl.

angieME 01-10-2003 04:48 PM

Damn, You guys are killing me. I used to buy sliced steak and fry it up and put it on sub bread with mayo, fried onions, cheese(LOTS),mushrooms. Greasy but oh so good.

Have you guys noticed that we have talked about food ALOT this week. Ha Ha I guess as long as we aren't eating it it is okay.

Jay had to have a brownie today after I baked them, then I cut the chocolate chip cake too big and had to cut a piece off so I was going to throw it away so I didn't eat it...NO, He had to have it. I wanted it so bad.

melekalikimaka 01-10-2003 04:51 PM

Hey, food, we talk about what we know (haha). Let HIM eat cake. Guys don't care too much about putting on a couple of pounds anyway.

Kempyd 01-10-2003 04:53 PM

I would much rather talk about food than eat it. With Joe being gone I am really trying to keep my mind occupied. I plan on watching lots of movies this weekend. It is going to be cold here so I know for a fact that I won't be going outside. Me and my wimpy self it is going to be in the lower 40's. I know Angie and Chris don't laugh. Noelle you understand me don't you. I bet you would be the same. lol

SvelteChicky 01-10-2003 09:48 PM

Wow, i've been gone a long time. Seems the conversation veared, as usual, to delicious drippy foods. Man, we could throw one **** of a calorie fest.. with Angie bringing the WoW for regularity! Ha Ha! We've got great chicken cheese steaks, which are not, by the way, healthier than regular ones. Cause you make up for it, with cheese, and greeasy goodness. I love those. I can't finish one, but i'm wiling to try it over a couple of meals worth. Drooling wihle I type. Go Figure. I'm an eater.

Have another topic for ya: my boobs are droppy ever since losing weight, and my inner thighs are jiggly, like I can't firm up all that flesh. Seems like when it was fuller of fat, it was firmer too. What the heck can I do? My bodies looking, naked, saggy. Shouldn't be, since i'm exercising so much. Should be firmer than before, i feel like i'm dropping a lot. Any others? I thought my boobs would get perky and firmer, but they're on round the clock bra-control.. imagine me jogging, could poke out an eye. (36D).. don't laugh.

So, I was bad today. had a slim fast for breakfast, too lazy to cook or anything. Then, went off to work and didn't wanna go fast food, then boss called me and we had lunch at one of those greek diners. Had turkey and provolone, on rye, half sandwich, with tose delicious steak fries, and a salad. Then, came home,a nd since we were planing to go out right after i got home from my last appnt, we ate dinner at, get this, 3:30pm. the only time I could squeeze in. Pancakes, and turkey bacon. Scarfed every bite. Then, after work, picked up hubby, and went to Basket Bingo, first time. Everybody brings their snacks, didn't know that, had 2 dollars left to my name, bought a 25 cent bag of doritos. diet coke... drooled over everyone's hot dogs and pizza. Starving for some reason. Come home, ate rest of tukey sanwich and steak fries. Feeling like a whale, expecially cause no walk today. Dog will probably **** all over the rug tonihgt while we're sleeping. that'll be nice to wake up to. Really feel like a slug. That's my day. Sorry it's a novel.

melekalikimaka 01-11-2003 12:54 AM

Hi Chris. Since I did lose a lot of weight a long time ago, I had the same problem with the saggy skin. Mostly on my thighs and upper arms but especially on my stomach. I did not have the boob problem since I had very little to begin with and that was the first place I lost weight in. Since I never successfully maintained that loss (hence I am here today), I never had a chance or didn't have a clue to exercise like weights or anything to tone my body. I am assuming that weight training would slowly firm up your muscles and skin. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful :( . Ask Kempy, she might know about some exercises to firm up that extra skin.

SvelteChicky 01-11-2003 08:56 AM

NOelle, where's your pretty picture? Thanks for the advice, glad i'm not crazy. Watched a plastic surgery special on discovery channel,a nd saw a woman get taht extra skin on her inner thighs removed. Eery to see her go through the pain of recovery, for that. I hate weights, and when I visited that Curves gym a wihle back, I remember hearing her say, yeah, you need resistance training. Ws she right? Do I have to do a whole routine, or my body will look funny? And, I still have the cellulite on my thighs back there, prayed that would go away, and its' still there, less, but still there... spoke to my cousin,a nd she said a frien dof hers, in high school, lost lots of weight, got down to 120, but still had all that cellulite. How weird is tht, being so thin, but with that mess still on her legs. Bothers me, cause it's always been something I thougth would go away if I lost weight... here I am same problems, less body.

angieME 01-11-2003 09:28 AM

Good Morning Girls!! It is weigh in time and I lost 2 pounds this week and 4.5 pounds so far for the month.( I had jumped on the scales yesterday and it said 170 but I guess I ate more than I should have of the taco salad...oops) Oh well, there is always next week.

Chris, I am going to go try to rework your pics right now.
