Talking newbie

12 Ok all I'm brand new at this soooo I may not get it all right...but anyway...I'm a 189lb. 40 year old married woman, with very very bad ankles from a car wreck 6 years ago, have had surgery once and am going to have to have more done later....it is not easy doing any form of excerise that involes useing my ankles...I can walk but not fast and not for a long way...CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE tell me what I can do? I love to swim but there is no place in my town that has an in door pool to be used..and the closes one is at the Y but they charge an arm and a leg to be a member...PLUS I got layed off work Dec. 3rd. I'd gladly give them my ankles but they won't take them as payment ....oh one more thing I'm only 5'2 so at 189 I'm VERY VERY ROUND.

Welcome sugarg!

It must be tough with the ankle problem. I have heard of aerobics videos where all of the exercises are done seated. I am 42 and married with 3 kids. I watch what I eat, but exercise really helps me, so I can imagine that it must be tough for you.
Good luck!

hi and welcome. it must be hard with ankle problems and still needing more surgery. i wish you all the best on your weight loss journey. i have ms and spinal cord damage and i can't walk very much due to these problems. (i use a cane and sometimes a wheelchair.) i do some exercises using a physioball and a chair exercise tape that is pretty helpful-just a couple thoughts, anyway. again, all the best to you. take care.

Sugarg, I agree with everyone else it has to be awfully hard with the ankles and all, but if your will is strong enough you will make it. I beleive that it is thru our strenght that we make life what it is
