Di - keep hand weights by the computer and work those triceps while you wait for pages to load. You can do crunches, too! I think you'll be able to keep moving and losing. Good luck with the doc.
|
I'm so sorry to hear about your injury, Di. I've been so scared of that myself! I like the suggestions to concentrate on your upper body, I never seem to spend enough time there.Take it easy a bit and find someone to wait on you!!;)
Appleblossom, I tend to feed my kids organic food, especially the baby, but for myself, /I have to go with whatever is going to make the weightloss easier! I console myself with the fact that I am actually eating fruit and veggies! Something I never used to do!! I'm baby steppin':D But I do have guilt sometimes! Have a great one, TTFN |
Oh Di, Im so sorry to hear that!!
Oh man , I just read your post :( So ,so sorry to hear what happened. I few months back I had the fear that I might hurt my feet in some way and not be able to exercise. Well I walked everyday for 1 hour and soon I added another 30 or 45 minutes at night. I was wearing the samesneakers for all those months and they had no cushion left! Since Ihadnt exercised in so long my sneakers looked new even after 1 yr! lol But OMG I kept feeling this pain right under the ball of my foot. Each morning it felt like a big needle and I couldnt put any weight on it. The more I exercised the worse it got. Iwas terrified of gaining the weight back . I found what it was and now I forgot the name ! I know it was that the natural cushion of my foot had been worn down so thepain Ifelt was my bone pressing against my foot when I put any weight on it. IT was painful. I bought new sneakers and bought extra cushion support for them. I did have to chill out on the walking for about 2 weeks. I tried pushing myself to walk but it felt worse and I was limping around the park! I realized that if I didnt rest my foot that I would need surgery and my foot would never be the same again. You will be ok Di, just keep eating right and rest your foot. I know deep down inside you are worried after all the sacrifices you've done to get to where you are now. TRUST me you're not gonna throw it all out the window now! Take it easy and let us know how your appt went.

Hi Ladies! Today was a better day. My first day into my family weight challenge and I think I did pretty good. I don't have time to exercise in the mornings anymore because I drive the kids to school. That may change...the picking up part wasn't so bad because the bus stops with the door facing the house. So I might consider letting them get on the bus in the mornings but still pick them up after school.
Anyway as I mentioned my day went pretty good, even though my teacher called me Vanessa...oops. But I didn't get a chance to fix something healthy for breakfast and usually I grab a burrito if I don't get something from the house...aaah I LOVE burritos yum. I even exercised this afternoon which really perked up the funk that I have been in lately in addition helped me to overcome the most sluggish part of my day. I was mostly proud of my food intake but then I kind of slid downhill and you will see where that is, this is my food intake for the day... Breakfast....a medium pear Snack....small vending machine bag of pretzels Lunch....large Texas chili salad from Jason's Deli with a Diet Coke Dinner...a medium apple with lots of water Snack....here is where I take a nose dive...5 peanut butter cups with lots of water. Activities for today consisted of... 1.) Parking very far from my classes so that I would have to walk clear across campus. 2.) I took the stairs instead of the elevator several times pretending to foget something downstairs so that I can climb the stairs again. 3.) 15 minutes of the elliptical machine. 4.) 200 reps of stair climbing. I bought myself a small diary that is large enough to get enough information on to a page for the day but small enough to fit into my purse. I have made it a promise that I will write everything down no matter how small it may seem. I am hoping that it will work. But I am going to try and keep at it. This morning my scale weighed me at 198 I have only myself to blame. My wonderful size 18 jeans are not feeling comfortable when I sit. I never mentioned this but I have some really nice size 16 stretch flair dress pants and they are comfortable on me but are very snug to my skin. Well DH doesn't like them because they are so tight. I would like to have them fitting nicely by this Christmas but maybe even before that. I expected to be at 150 by my birthday in April and it doesn't seem that is possible but I am going to work hard at getting close to it. I already got a hold of the gym availability at school. The only time I can fit in is on Fridays so I am going to make it a point to get out there but if not I am going to go to the track and get up and down those stadium steps. I loved going up and down the steps way back when. Di~~~I hope your DR's appt went well and i hope you are feeling better. AppleBlossom~~~I never cordially welcomed you to the thread. I think I was in my Blue Mood...sorry. Welcome to the thread with lots of HugS. Thanks for being there for me ladies you are truly wonderful. Okay well it is late. I better get out of here. Bye. Hii everyone
Well the docs was awful. This is the same doc who put pins in my hips when I was a girl. I had some kind of problem with growing so I have 4 in each hip. Instead of concentrating on my tendon as he should have he kept doing all kinds of range of motion with my hips and then said the pain in my upper thigh muscle was caused by my hips and not the problem with the tendon. So he then took my tendon which is absolutely killing me and twisted my ankle and bent it and said he didn't think there was a tear but if there was it's already damaged and only time would tell if he had to operate. So he walked on his foot on his tip toes and told me to walk like that! I thought he was joking so I laughed- he wasn't joking. He said not to bear weight on it but to still try to do normal things. He said the knot on the back of my foot was abnormal and he may have to operate if it doesn't go away. I just looked at him in disbelief. He told me to keep the crutches with me just in case the pain was unbearable. So I walked to the front desk to check out and the pain was unbelievable. The next thing I knew I was coming to on the floor. I had a seizure! Whether it was caused by the pain, or stress I don't know. So my evening was spent in the ER because they rushed me there after I came to. So now I have 3 weeks off. My insurance will only pay for me to go to this doc to be released to work, so I have no choice to go back to him. I just plan to relax and do everything I can to get myself better. I refuse to let that man cut into me. So if you don't hear much from me the next week or so, it's because I'm doing everything imaginable to get this darn leg better. Take care all. Di

Kina, I am so happy that you are feeling better!:) I'm sure you're going to do great on your family challenge. You seem so motivated! Girl you don't seem to be eating enough to keep a bird alive! If I ate that little all day, I'd have a meltdown in the evening and eat everything in sight! I have no willpower. I eat like every two hours. Here's yesterday:
Breakfast: 24 bite size shredded wheat & 1/2 cp skim milk snack: Wow tostidos and salsa lunch: 4 oz cod and a huge bowl of broccoli snack: 3 grahm crackers dipped in cool whip & an orange Dinner: 3 tacos snack: 1 cp Cracklin oat bran & 1/2 cup milk I guess it was a pretty typical day, just a little over. Can someone well vested with nutritional knowledge analyze it for me? I'm thinking a little low on veggies and a fruit but too high on carbs? I'm nursing a i exercise for 30-45 mins almost every day. What do you all think? Well, it's Friday, I'm hoping something interesting will come my way. I NEED to get out of this house!! Any one have anything good planned? I am so ready for spring!! TTFN, |
Great friday morning all! :flow2:
I am in a great mode this morning. So good that I even brought my workout clothes to hit the cardio after I get off today. I have them sitting on my desk so I have to look at htem all day. I have nothing to do when I get off so there are no excuses. I can't beleive it but I have actually broken the challenge weight. I hopped on this morning thinking I would see a gain b/c we had sushi last night but I was actually down another pound so that makes 7.5 lbs total. :dancer: I can't believe it. I never thought that it would be this easy for me. I do have my moments when I think I could devour a Wendy's burger. I have to really work to make it through those times. Kina you are starting off on the right foot. Doing all of the things that you are doing to get more movement in is great. Keep it up girl. You will be there in no time. Hi to all to follow. |
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Way to go Kempy!!!I am so proud of you:strong: . I knew you could and would do it. How was the sushi? I think I would like to try it sometime because I like fish but I am not sure how I feel about RAW fish. haha
|
Di and Serina you slipped in while I was posting.
Di that is terribel that you can't get to another doc. I ama firm beleiver in second opinions. Laney I wish I could give you some nutritional advise but If you are nursing I wouldn't even know where to begin. I wouldn't want you to change your diet and it hurt your baby. |
You can get it cook Angie. I loved the veggie rolls.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to pop in and say hello... I've ben a little quiet here lately, but have been posting my journal a lot. I've been feeling a little out of it socially and put out a silly call for people to post comments for me... I just felt like I needed some hand-holding. It's been one of those weeks, emotionally and mentally. Anyway, I want to say that you all are so great. I ALWAYS say that, so I don't want you to think I am overdoing it, but it's true. So true. I love reading all your posts, through the good and bad stuff. I'll probably forget to comment about someone's something here, but offhand I would like to congratulate Kempyd for breaking her wall down, and to Di -- definitely time for a second opinion. It sounds like your doc is pretty unsympathetic and way to eager to get his knife in you. You need to do what makes you feel comfortable and cared for, and I don't think you're getting that with him! Good luck, and keep up posted! I know there are others who I haven't caught up with lately. The thing about being in a funk, or blue, or whatever you want to call it, is that I have a tendency to curl up into myself more, when really what I need is to be with people more, whether it's here or in real life. Sometimes it's not so good to be so self-involved. The world does not revolve around me! ;) Anyway... sorry to have blathered on... I don't even know if I am making much sense, but... I am hoping that with the weekend and fresh slate on Tuesday, I will be as good as new! |
Hey, do we really have one more week of this challenge to go? For some reason I was thinking that tomorrow was the end... Wow... if we do have another week, I will be very happy! If we don't, I'll still be fine. ;)
~~Amy, getting a grip |
Chin UP Choci
You know we all go through something each and every day of our lives but the most important thing for you to know is that you are not alone and as long as you allow someone to listen then someone will listen.
I see your weight stats at the bottom and they are truly impressive. I have a Sis-In-Law who I adore but don't get along with very much right now...that is besides the point. Anyhow she is weighing somewhere around your starting weight and she makes every vocal attempt to start dieting but never follows through on them. You on the other hand have taken control and made changes and done awesome in your weight loss. Get a grasp on what is causing you to have these blue moods. Find a way to write them down whether it be journaling or painting. But I know that yesterday I woke up and proclaimed that it would be a good day and it was. Of course at the end of the day I did not want to workout and then after I worked out I wanted to do more...I didn't, I didn't want to push it. I felt so in control after I did my workout. Keep yourself moving even if it is half of what you were doing before. I know that was my big mistake while i was going through my blue mood. Many hugs and smiles to you. Kina |
Thanks Kina. I really think that the weather is a big factor in my mood. It's been very, very cold here for the past week, which correlates with this funk I'm in. BF's got it, too, and so does my mom! :P
Like I said in my journal, I used to have it much worse. I am doing my best to stay focused on all the good in my life, and to do things that make me happy. This board is one of them, and I need to be a little more active here. At least I can say that I have stayed OP throughout this rough time. The scale has been stubborn, but I think it's because I haven't been exercising enough. I get my daily walks in at least, but I really need to get back with Richard Simmons and start really sweating again! I was out of commission the past few days with some VERY sore muscles, but I am OK today. I'm gonna work it tonight, and see what I can jiggle off for the weigh-in tomorrow! :) *HUGS* all around! |
Well, I have a feeling TOM is coming because I need chocolate. We had pudding for dessert last night. I'm battling the munchies and I'm afraid I'm losing the fight. Although the scale had some favorable news this morning but we'll see what it says tomorrow at weigh in. DH is home so I can go for a jog, and maybe I'll tack on some walking too. Griz, I know what you mean about wanting to go for it, but slow and steady will pay off. Back before marrige & kids I would run 4 miles a day and now I have trouble with 2. I don't want to push it because i have a funky knee that will remind me if I'm going to far or fast.
Sushi, yum.... Chin up Chochi! Its a full moon...... Kina, may I suggest You eat more for breakfast? Personally I set my self up for failure if I skimp in the morning. :D |
Weigh In tomorrow~!
Weigh is tomorrow! Withthis being said , guess what I ordered for dinner just 5 minutes ago? Two large pizzas! ugh! I got home just a few min ago from helping my girls sell girlscout cookies and I cant believe that we sold $319! in two days! All the cookies I ordered are sold and my girls are so proud of themselves and so am I! I'm tired so hubby said to order Pizza since that is one food we all like. I was freaking out cause Ive done sooooo good this week! But its true! I've pretty much maintained about 3 months now, I think.... So there is lunch for the girls tomorrow and I dont have to cook them lunch either lol. So I promised myself not to have more than two cheese slices, soak as much oil with a napkin too lol. By the way Kina, I read what you had to eat and I have toadd my .02 cents in. Please dont get upset! Pretty please. But The breakfast and dinner is too little food...Even if you had those peanut butter cups, its not enough food. Maybe calories in those peanutcups but not enough food.
Well I better go make me a cup of coffee or something, after driving around for almost 3 hours Iwant to drop on my bed and just sleep. ttyl everyone! Gen |
Gennel, I have to say how proud I am of you!!! You are doing so well at maintaining. I think I maintained for about a month before I started to climb up again. Way To Go!!!! I am hoping to be at my goal by summer and I am going to have to get some advice from you on the easiest way to do it. I do plan not to have an entire mess up day this time. I can eat alot of food if I set my mind to it and a time limit. haha I want to be sensible this time and I think you have it figured out. So pat yourself on the back from me will ya. Have a great night and I will be weighing in in the morning.
|
I have to tell you guys breakfast is the hardest thing to squeeze in especially when I am trying to get on campus by a certain time. I know my food intake wasn't the greatest but i have to admit that it's a heck of change from what I had been eating a few days ago. But, Gennel, I take criticism with open arms. I mean I am ready to learn more everyday.
Okay DH my wonderful honey is taking us out to dinner. talk later. Kina |
ciao ladies,
I had just fineshed breakfast when I realized that today was weigh in, I lost a pound this week. It's not great but its good. I can't chat long, we're covering the highschool Basketball tourney. I'm not a bug sports fan but it should be interesting. Later |
It's amazing what kind words and a few cyber hugs can do... I think I can safely say that I got shook out of my funk. I want to thank you all for catching my back! It made a huge difference in my outlook.
I had a pretty amazing weigh-in this morning, but I feel like I cheated in a way! I didn't even have 1000 calories yesterday, and about 300 of those were white wine! It was just one of those days when I just didn't have my mind on food at all. It was a fairly busy day, so that helped... and I was also determined to get Richard Simmons in, because I knew that would jumpstart some weightloss. I did Sweatin' to the Oldies #3, which kicked my butt for almost an hour. I had planned on eating dinner, but it was so late by the time I did that, that I really didn't want to. Anyway... I weighed in at 273, which is a 4-pound loss for the week and 12 for the challenge (so far? Is this the last weigh-in?). Wow. It feels good. And I couldn't have done it without you! |
Hello everyone!! Choci, I am glad you are feeling alot better. Whenever you get down just remember that we are ALWAYS here for support!!
I weighed in at 167.5 which is a loss of 3 pounds for this week and a total of 7.5 for this challenge so far I have noticed that my weight loss works like this, I lose it on Monday or Tuesday and the scale doesn't change for the rest of the week but it is usually a good loss. Strange.Makes me happy anyway. Have a great weigh in girls!!! |
Congratulations on your losses everyone. So far it sounds like it's been a good week for weight loss! I am down two pounds this week to 177. I am very excited to be here!! I'm killing time right now till Sarah goes down for her nap, then I'll be hitting the treadmill. Yesterday was my day off so I'm hoping my legs will be rested and ready to go for it! I've been aiming for 30-60 mins five days a week. Does that sound ok to you guys? What are you all doing? Happy weighing in everybody!! TTFN,
|
Well I know I started this challenge at 194.5 and then somewhere along the road went up to 198.5. I swear I know that my scale is messed up. Anyway I jumped on the scale this morning and I have lost 1.5 lbs of the gained pounds. I guess it makes a difference when you actually use your equipment than just looking at it. LOL Well I think I am going to schedule yoga on the weekends. Since those are my quiet times. I am going to try and get 20 ab rolls a night. And I am shooting to get 2-4 miles on the elliptical machine every other day. I need to actually sit down and create a workout schedule. I think once I do that it will be more encouraging to me.
So anyway. Thanks to all of you for the support, the encouragement, and the wonderful posts. Wonderful thoughts go out to all of you this weekend. Enjoy the long the weekend. Bye. Kina |
Kina - you do need more food often and you'll feel better, I think. Breakfast can be fat-free yogurt and some grapenuts stirred into the yogurt cup or a handful of shredded mini-wheats. The protein/calcium is good for you and the cereal will add fiber and keep you fuller. It also helps carry away some of the fat in your diet. When you're home - throw some eggbeaters and a slice of lean ham into the fry pan for scrambled eggs/omelette. The Eggbeaters are only 30 calories per "egg" and no fat, since they are just egg whites. Have some whole wheat toast with sugar free Smuckers preserves! Awesome.
Yesterday I had a huge serving of stirfry vegetables for lunch - no fat just the butter spray to start it and some stir-fry sauce (no fat). I threw in - scallions, onions, green pepper, plaintain, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms - whatever I had in the crisper drawer. Supper was the usual Friday night pizzas - pita breads with homemade no-fat pizza sauce, mozzarella and turkey pepperoni. I put them under the broiler for about 5 - 10 minutes til they brown up a bit. They come out to between 200 and 300 calories each depending on the toppings and amount of cheese. If I eat light all day - I can have *3* for dinner while we watch a movie. Very little fat and the wheat pitas add fiber. Just some ideas! If you need a new appliance - go for a grill - mine is Hamilton Beach ($60) and I use it every day. It's similar to the George Foreman - fat runs off - but larger. I do pita bread, chicken tenders (10 minutes), pierogies, vegetables - all kinds of stuff. Mine has a timer so I set it and walk away. The pierogies are great if you're a starch/pasta addict like me. You don't have to be Polish! LOL If you have a half pound of pasta - it's 800+ calories. The frozen potato and onion pierogies are only 400 calories for half a pound. Big savings and very good with salsa or marinara sauce or sauerkraut. It's become one of our favorite treats. We grill them and they come out toasty around the edges with just a little butter spray. I'll shut up now. :) PS I always have a low weigh-in on Thursday because on the day before I eat lunch with Dad and then don't have supper because BB is busy elsewhere. Saturday, I'm afraid, I still carry last night's supper around. :) NO loss this week - maintained, though! |
Good morning everyone. I've been up and down so many times this challenge, I had to go back and see what my original starting weight was. This morning I'm down 2 pounds from last week. That means 1 pound from the start. Finally, I'm doing something to move in the right direction! Glad I could count myself among the other losers this week. I AM in good company.
Jen 238/230/140 |
Thanks Rusty those some great ideas. And that griller you talked about that is definetly something DH and I want to get. We plan it soon. He wants the big B-B-Q because it will be big enough for the whole family. I have grape nut flakes up there but hate to have milk. I think I am lactose intolerant as much as I enjoy milk. But I think I can force it atleast for breakfast time and maybe add a banana into it for some sweetness instead of sugar. I will do that.
Jen~~~Weigh to go Lovie! You just keep doing what you are doing and before you know it you will be there. I know I am going to try and do all the opposites of what I had been doing these past few weeks and perhaps I will be at my mini-goal before I know it. How much longer do we have on this challenge? Does anyone know? Okay I am really out of here. You know how men hate it when they want you ready by the time they get back. Aaargh! Bye. Kina |
I have one of those big grills too. It is the best thing in the world to have!! Everything cooks super quick and I feed a family of five from it. I love putting veggies on it to go with supper. I would definately recommend getting one. We actually sold our outdoor grill after we got the indoor one. Cleanup is easier and it cooks so much quicker. lol
I think the challenge ends on the 25th. right? Have a great day all!!! Kina and Jen, You are dedicated and that is what counts. One day at a time and you will get there. |
Congrats on the losses ladies!! A pound is a pound, and one gone is always a good thing!! This is a long, hard journey and every tiny step is actually a huge feat!!
I got a mini George Forman for Christmas and I really love it!! I use it for fish and chicken usually. It's super quick and everything comes out yummy. I got four miles in on the treadmill today. That's pretty good for me. I'm behind on my monthly goal because of Sarah's hospital stay. I have to play catch=up the rest of the month. But that's ok, I need someone to stand behind me with a cattle prod!! I guess I'm lucky because my dh is so supportive, but loves me no matter what I weigh. I really feel like this is the first time I am 100% doing this for myself. I think that's very important. Have a great one ladies, TTFN, |
WOW everyone is doing awesome. I *think* I have a 1lb loss this week. My official weigh-in day is Monday so I will update you then. I like the idea of the George Foreman type grill. I am moving in to a new apartment next month and I think that may have to be one of my purchases. I am going out dancing/drinking with my girlfriends tonight. Hopefully I can keep the drinking to mostly water and do some booty shaking to burn any alcohol off. Have a great weekend ladies!
Claire |
Well the scale is still reading a 2 pound loss!Hurray!!! 1 more pound and I'm back to my pre holiday weight. 2 more and I meet this months challenge, something I have never done before!!! Next week is going to be tough. Actually, just the rest of this week-end is going to be tough. Wish me luck!!!
|
WTG Apple Blossom! Isn't it a pain trying to catch up after a temporary gain? I hate it. I know I'm not going to make my goal this challenge, but I may come closer than I thought earlier. I guess I got my weekends mixed up and didn't realize the TOM was right around the corner. There's so much going on in my life, I didn't recognize the symptoms either. Anyway, I woke up this morning and TOM had arrived. I can't wait to see how much weight comes off in the next week now!
Thanks for the words of encouragement and Rusty, thanks for all the meal ideas. Now that I'm a stay-at-home mom and caregiver for a while, I plan to try all kinds of new things. Jen 238/230/140 |
Weigh In Chart!
How is everybody doing! Well today was so chilly here in Florida. My husband and I had to sell Girl Scout cookies at our local Kmart at 9 am this morning! We were totally freezing even with the sweaters and long sleeves underneath. My hubby ended up going back home and getting the girls their winter coats! Back home now and all warmed up. My scale has been between 129-130 so that is a good sign! The challenge ends on the 25th of this month and I will start a new one the next day...

Hi guys!
I really have to apologize for dropping off the face of the earth this past week. I have been reading the posts, but I just haven't been able to get my act together to post anything. Work is crazy busy and I usually write my responses there...
Anyway, it should like everyone is very upbeat and motivated this week - which is a great thing! Congrats to everyone who lost! I forgot about weigh in yesterday so here is my numbers: down to 156.2 for a loss of 1.6 this week and a total loss of 2.8 lbs (and I had to go double check that and subtract my current weight from the weight I posted in my first post) since the start of the challenge. Do we just have one more week? Wow, time has flown... Just wondering what an average loss per week is for everyone? I seem to only go about 1 lb a week (which i am good with), but I am curious what everyone else is doing... |
Back to eating right
Well this weekend I ate very good until dinner time. For dinner I ate whatever I wanted. I havent had dinner at home for the past two days. Birthday party saturday night ,all hispanic food! Then baby shower today again all hispanic food, roasted pork, honey baked ham, potato salad, delicous cake too! I'm feeling full from the slice of cake! So anyway tomorrow is back to the gym again.
Well I better get going , hubby calling to watch a movie. ttfn,Gen |
Madcat I am usually around 1 lbs a week too. I think that is a good amount. Nice and slow.
Congrats Apple! I know you are feeling great. Jen I am with you on the waiting game. I am hopeing for a few more pounds off after this week too. Gen I havn't been eating very well either. This weekend I had pizza Friday night as treat. Saturday night we ate Mexican and went dancing (had to much to drink). Sunday we were hungover so we ordered pizza for dinner b/c neither one of us could stand long enough to cook anything. Bad me. (slap on the hand) I am doing better today. I am trying to get back on track. |
Water
Hi,
Just curious if you ladies have found any difference in your rate of weight loss when you are chugging lots of water. I have not seen any studies showing that people lose more weight when they are drinking lots of water but successful losers seem to swear by it. Does anyone have anymore info on this? Hope everyone is having a healthy day! Claire |
Hi everyone,
Apologies for not keeping up recently but like Madcat I have been swamped with work and getting kids back into school routines etc etc...Been maintaining, but have lost 1 lb recently to put me at 144. I am not going to be at my original goal but that's fine - I am aiming now at 140 over the next - however long it takes, I guess, as long as I keep working at it! Congrats to all! Keep up the good work! Lidian |
What's that cheese brand?
Hey I was wondering after reading allthe posts about lowfat cheese to make those pita pizzas? I bought some today and Im not sure if its the same type you ladies were mentioning? Its called CABOT cheese,50% lessfat. For lunch today I had one pita sliced in in half, spread 1tbsp of sauce and sprinkled the cheese and baked it for 7 minutes. I bought the cheese in a 8 oz block and shredded it at home in a machine I have. The pita was only 160 calories and 0 fat,the cheese was 70 calories and 4.5 fat. The sauce was 50 calories for halfcup which I only used 2 tbsp so I figured about 25 calories there and also 0 fat. So two slices of this yummy pizza was only 255 calories and 4.5 fat. I had this for lunch with a diet coke and was totally satisfied! Then dinner came around and I cooked cornbeef with fries in them on a bed of white rice, I didnt eat it! I cooked it for hubby and the kids. I enjoyed the lunchso much that I baked the pita pizzas again! But this time I ate two whole pitas and didnt slice them in half so I had 510 calories and 9 fatgrams for dinner.Breakfast today was blahhh but I stayed full for a long time today! It was oatmeal with skim milk, had it with regular sugar sprinkled with some cinnamon on top,had an apple for snack. And for my sweet cravings I bought lowfat yogurt "icecream" (Butter pecan) only 110 calories and 3 fatgrams . So today's total calories was around 1,400-1,500. Went to the gym and burned 720 calories in 1hr. I wanted to add today's calories to see how I maintain my weight cause I dont feel deprived! So there it is, I burn about half of what I eat.
Well I'm still wearing the sweaty shorts and sweater wrapped around mywaist from the gym! Iswear a lot of people from the gym must have eaten too much over the weekend cause it was JAMMED packed tonight!!!! They have at least 20 elliptical machines and all but 3 were taken!all the treadmills were taken also. Well let me go jump in the shower! ttyl, Gen |
Hi all.
Madcat, I keep aiming for around 2 pounds a week, but usually, I'm not dedicated enough to get there. I have on occasion lost even more than that though. I have a tendency to get frustrated that it takes so long, even when I'm losing consistently. "They" say that slower weight loss means a better chance of keeping it off, though. As for the water, Clarita, I can't tell whether drinking water helps me lose weight or not. It generally seems to be an all or nothing thing for me. Either I'm excersizing, eating right, and drinking lots of water, or I'm not doing any of those things! Hard to tell which one is having more of an effect or if they're all contributing. Catch you all tomorrow. Jen 238/230/140 |
Well I went and done it,
I pulled a muscle at the gym yesterday doing bicep curls. (That's what I get trying to hang with the big boys in the free wieghts) But I couldn't help myself. You see these guys lifting their killer weights then you look at your cutsie little dumbell and feel all wimpy. So like a dope I picked up the big ones and now I'm hurting. I'm walking around the office asking what I should do and their all like "heat it", "no ice it", "no heat it" So i figured I'll do both and see what feels better :) In the meanwhile I'm still going to the gym today but I'm doing all lower body to give my arm more recovery time. I hope i don't have to do push-ups tomorrow. BTW Clarita - Drinking water throughout the day helps to curb your appetite and keeps you hydrated, which is very necessary when working out. It really helps the weight loss process along. ( you burn major calories running to the bathroom all day) That's all for now ladies. -Dips- |
