Ciao Girls!:)

angieME 12-06-2002 07:49 PM

Gotcha!!!

I am here!!!!!

Jen, Where are you? You have me worried. I hope you are ok.:?:

melekalikimaka 12-07-2002 11:21 AM

Hey Ladies, just thought I'd check in this morning. It's the weekend and today may just be the first Saturday that I'm in control of myself (the eating that is). I'll be in a computer-class from 8-4 which is kind of a drag, but at least it'll keep me from eating all day. Take it easy and I'll see you gals later.
Aloha!

SvelteChicky 12-07-2002 08:02 PM

hey Angie and Noelle... hope the other girls find us here. Had a weird day. Visite dmy grandparents, and that was depressing. Came home smelling funny. You know what I mean. They live in a nursing place, so that's the reason. Too warm in there, and so depressing. Do we have to get old? How about a soilent green type of thing? Huh?

Ate okay, and skipped the walk today, since we're oging to Williamsburg in the morning, and we'll walk around all day, I deserve a break,. Anyway, it's freezing outt here, and the snow refuses to go away on it's own. Well, hope you girls are warm. Ciao!

Kempyd 12-09-2002 11:39 AM

Hey guys I am here. I am really busy right now so I will check back in later today! See ya!

FlowerJenni1022 12-09-2002 07:56 PM

I'm alive..... and fat :( I've been eating like crazy. Guess ya'll probably guessed that since I haven't been her to fess up to it.

EH's operation was last Wednesday. He went home the same day, but had to go back in because it started swelling really bad. He's home again now, and the good news is they didn't find any cancer. :) Thank goodness for my youngin's!

I think my cold is trying to leave. I don't want to jinx it by saying I feel better, but I do.

I'm super sleepy. Kiddos got up in the middle of the night and were too wired to sleep. (Too long of a nap yesterday afternoon.) I think we're all ready for bed now though. It's only 6:53 here LOL.

I'm proud of all of you for sticking to it. I'm sorry I haven't been a good example..........

Gotta go..... little girl is calling me. I love you girls!
Jenni

melekalikimaka 12-09-2002 08:02 PM

Hello girls...sheesh, afternoon here already and you guys are probably asleep. Anyway, been a busy, busy Monday and that's good for business.

Jenni, good to hear you're back and feeling better. Especially good to hear that your EH does not have that nasty ole cancer. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, ex or not.

Hope everyone's weekend was fun. Catch up with you gals later.

*Noelle

angieME 12-09-2002 08:08 PM

Jen, I am glad to hear he doesn't have cancer. I am sure you have been under a great deal of stress. I am so glad you came on to let us know you are alright. I was a little worried about ya.

Noelle, How have you been? Did you have a good weekend? I went to the animal shelter to donate some stuff and watched Austin powers, Goldmember. It was pretty funny.

Kempyd 12-09-2002 09:34 PM

Jenn glad yo see you are back. Glad to hear about EH. I had to go through Cancer with my dad. I don't wish that on anyone. I know you need us now more than ever. I can't wait to hear from you more.

Noelle, you are 4 hours behind me right? (central time) I usually don't hit the bed until 10. I feel like I should be in it earlier but hubby like to watch tv and I hate going to bed without him there. I don't sound to codependent do I? lol

melekalikimaka 12-09-2002 09:46 PM

Hi Kemp, I am 5-6 hours behind you (I think)--Hawaii is always 2-3 hours behind the west coast (California/Oregon/Washington). We don't observe daylight savings time here so I don't know when to ever add or subtract the hours. Anyway, I pop in and out of this website during the day while at work and sometimes during the evening if hubby isn't hogging the home PC looking at things to buy from ebay or gov't liquidations...

SvelteChicky 12-10-2002 07:07 AM

HI Girls. Back from Williamsburg. It was beautiful there, and much warmer, even though it was only 3 hours south of me. Saw the Grand Illumination... best fireworks i"ve ever seen. Longest walking I've don ein a while, but worth the wait to see the sky lit up so pretty. Stayedonly one night, and ate atre ate ate. First of all, hubb'ys dad loves to eat three big meals each day. Every time you wak back to the car, they're talking about then ext meal, and that makes you nauseaus aftera while, not to mention the travelling with a full stomahc. But , i mad emy own decisions, and that'll probably show up in the scale. We did have fun, although onthe way back,, half way home, fatheir n law gets a phone call from a state trooper, "Sir, someone fuond your wallet at the gas station in Williamsburg, you're gonna have to turn around and pick it up. Unless you want us to play cat and mouse and ticket you for driving without license." SO, we turn around, drive all the way back, get ithe wallet, turn back around.... you get the drift. What a long trip back. Woke up like i"d been drugged this morning. I can't belive how biting cold it is here,a dn I hear we're getting more snow, maybe today or tomorrow? Geez! I've decided to start doing workout videos until the weather is better. I'm tired of being stressed, and slipping on the ice out there.

Jenni: I"m so happy to hear from you. You are a great example, because you keep coming back, fessing up, and getting back on track. Life is not always smooth sailing.. We all have tough times. But keep coming back here, adn check in. We're gonna love ya til ther's harldy any of you left! :)

Kempy: You okay? I saw you missed a cuople days? Is hubby outta town?

ANgie: Are you guys buried in snow yet? Maine should be a glacier by now!

Noelle: After this weekend, Hawaii sounds like a dream come true. Do you guys put up chrismtas trees,a nd pretend snow? Ha Ha

Kempyd 12-10-2002 10:32 AM

Chris - I had a friend in this weekend. We spent the entire time shopping. Saturday night we went to Joe's company party (300 + there) Sunday I went grocery shopping (spent way to much money, but I got a lot of good deals) and then we went to eat with my family in Baton Rouge that night. I have been very busy but that is good. I need to have that in my life. I am so sedentary most of the time.

I am trying to get an association going for our subdivision, and we will be busy with Duck's Unlimited this year. That should get me going for a little while. I need to do something to make myself move more.

Kempyd 12-10-2002 11:01 AM

Noelle, I see that you are on. Good Lord woman what time is it? And I cna't believe you are up. I wish we didn't have daylight savings time. It really screws me up. I heard that there is one town in the mid west that doesn't follow it either. I want to say Indianapolis. I could be wrong though.

melekalikimaka 12-10-2002 02:27 PM

Hello all. Just checking in.
Kemp: I am 5 hours behind your time ( I just checked my "earth time" calendar to see what the difference was) and 2 hours behind west coast time. I think my computer didn't shut down completely last night and may have still had me connected. I've got a little wireless network running to my mom's computer upstairs (shhhhh, don't tell anyone I'm "stealing" cable :) ) so she can get internet service...sometimes that makes the computer do weird things. What's Ducks Unlimited? I have a lab t-shirt that says Ducks Unlimited...never knew that it was an organization for anything (duh, sorry for my ignorance)

Chris: Williamsburg sounds like a great place to visit. I have got to get to the east coast one of these days. My former boss just took a vacation this past September and hit the DC area and Williamsburg. Said it was a great trip all things considered. (This was about the same time of the DC area sniper attacks).

Angie: Can you give me a little of your willpower? Or maybe a little brainwashing? Sometimes all I think about is eating...you're amazing. I could not be around donuts all the time and not eat any.

Jenni: We're all behind you if you need us.

And yes, we do have Xmas trees here that are "flocked" with fake snow. We have never bought one like that though. We have an annual "Honolulu City Lights" christmas thing where they duke up City Hall with millions of lights and displays. Then they scout around O'ahu for the biggest pine tree and transport it to City hall and decorate it. Last year there was some kind of contraption that made it "snow". Don't know what it was but the flakes disappeared as soon as they touched ground. It was kind of neat seeing the snowfall but I'm guessing it was around 70 degrees at night. The coldest it got here so far at night was only 59...brrrrrrrrrr, that was sooooooo cold (haha)

Kempyd 12-10-2002 02:53 PM

I just typed this whole long thing and lost it, shoot!
Here it goes again..
Duck's Unlimited is a conservation organization. They buy land as a habitat for migratory birds. I think it is a lot of fun to be in. You get to meet lots of local business owners. It helps to have friends in high places. After all, this is Louisiana and I am sure that all of the country thinks that we are all politicians that only help out their brother. I have to say that I have used it a few times (getting a ticket fixed, buying our new truck, etc....).

I wish it would only get to around 56 here. Today it is 50 and the sun isn't out and that doesn;t help any. This is a good day to stay home but I know what I would be doing if I was at home, I would be sleeping. Hey, that doesn't sound to bad to me right now.

SvelteChicky 12-11-2002 07:08 AM

We ahve a duck obsessino here in my area as well. For different reasons I'm sure. People around here collect decoys. Fancy, painted,a nd artsy ducks. All kinds of peole, from all over, come here for the Decoy Museum. Then there's the decoy festival. We have the Potapsco river here, and a "boardwalk" for people to walk on. Pretty area really. Never like dthe idea of hunting though. Imagine you ,sitting in the mall, eting a frozen yogurt, and someone shoots you with a be-be? What the heck did you do to deserve that one? Anyway, I'd finish my ice cream before passing out probbly, Never waste dessert! ha Ha.

Isn't it great to sit an dlook at your christmas ttree, with all the sentimental ornaments from when you wre a kid, or even just pretty ornaments you put on yourself. This tme of year, it is so grat to just sit, think, and look at the beautiful lights, houses, trees, and the faces of people. Reminiscing.

Kempyd 12-11-2002 10:13 AM

I love our tree. Joe and I buy a new ornament together. I remember each year when I look at the tree. If peopel weren't in such a hurry it would be the perfect time of year.

I don't care much for the hunting part either but we do eat the duck. He doesn't do it for sport. I have to remember that I eat chicken and cow too. I try to forget about what happens to them though.

angieME 12-11-2002 10:45 AM

Yeah, I don't like hunting either. I hate to see the deer tied up to a tree. I feel so bad for them. Luckily, Jay didn't get anything this year. I feel like a hypocrite eating chicken and cow too. But yet I do it, go figure.

I have never had duck kempy, Is it good? It looks so fatty.

I didn't get my pap. period started. Now I have to go next Thursday but I did get to go talk to the FNP.

Chris, I want to see your pic too.

Kempyd 12-11-2002 11:02 AM

Duck is actually very lean. There really isn't much of the breat meat though. Farm raised tastes way better than wild. I can't tolerate that gamey taste. I heard if you soak it in milk it will take it away. I will have to try that . We have some breasts in the fridge.

angieME 12-12-2002 06:50 PM

Wow Chris!!!

You look georgeous in those pics. You are so tiny!!! Your hubby is so tall. How tall is he?

How is everyone?

Did anyone read my journal? I am having a moral dillemna(sp). I think we made up our minds to take it if it is offered. Jay just told me that about a month ago Johnny(BIL) tried to get MIL to take his donuts instead of ours so I say screw him!!! I can't stand him anyway. I figure that about a year ago we could have had a chain of stores if we were willing to take them all and Jay said no so we saved his business back then because that would have been 95% of his business. This family reminds me of the Adams Family(LOL)

melekalikimaka 12-12-2002 07:35 PM

Hello everybody. Where are you? It's been such a busy day here I haven't really had time to read many posts except @ lunch. I'm usually just sitting here fooling around but for the past few days it's been a whirlwind and I've had to actually work (gasp!).

Chris, so where's this picture the gals have been talking about?

Angie I read your journal and left a comment for you--you know, I would never have had this problem with my BIL since he's never ever gotten off his @ss and had a job (EVER). What bugs me is that when he's short on funds which is ALWAYS since he doesn't work, is that he's always calling us to see if he can work for cash. Oh yeah, his name is "Rob" but I call him "Scrub".

angieME 12-12-2002 07:49 PM

a little sumfin under the tree

Here is two of my kitties. they were strays on out lot when we bought it.

melekalikimaka 12-12-2002 08:06 PM

Those are beautiful cats--they look so lazy and content. They are very lucky you took them in. My cat always a "*****y" look on her face (just like her owner)

how do you insert those pictures on here anyway? and how do you resize a digital pic to use as your avatar? I can't figure it out.

SvelteChicky 12-12-2002 08:08 PM

Pictures

HI Girls, Okay, here's a picture I just love. of me and hubby. Isn't hea a cutey? I love him so. Well, today was blah for me. I had a long meeting at work, and they gave me grief about using too many minutes on the company cell phone. Get a grip. I was forced to eat out for lunch, but managed to get a chicken ceasar salad. Then, I came home, like I'd die if I didn't eat, and had salad again. Then, for dinner, hubby made me roast, white rice and broccoli. He's so good to me. Well, I"m getting a new hot water heater, and they're noisey. Hope the picture comes out.

SvelteChicky 12-12-2002 08:09 PM

hey it worked!!! SOme people day we look like brother and sister... eww! here's another one. I'm on a roll.

melekalikimaka 12-12-2002 08:14 PM

Wow you guys look great together--he's sooo tall and you look mah-velous! Thanks for sharing that, I need the inspiration and motivation right now. Gee if I were your hubby's height maybe I'd be at a healthy weight right now, hehe.

SvelteChicky 12-12-2002 08:24 PM

He's very tall, and looks adorable, but his weight changes al the time. he has Crohn's Disease, so he's on chemo, and has terrible bouts of ab pains. He is just now getting healthy again, after losing 60 poundsi n a few months, only to gain it all back when he starts to get better. He tends to stop eating when he's sick... then as his health improves, he eats again, and rapidly gains. He hates it.

angieME 12-12-2002 09:39 PM

To do your avatar you click on usercp at the top of the page and go to change avatar. To resize it I use my picture it software and size it to the exact dimensions that this sight allows. If you want to you can email me a pic and I can try it for you and send it back so you can use it.

Chris, how is Chris feeling now? Better I hope.

SvelteChicky 12-13-2002 09:10 AM

healthy man aboard

Hello!!! Last night, we got a new hot water heater. Can't believe ow excied we are. We're planning to sue our warrenty company. It's a long story. They never pay. That's the short story of it.

So, hubby is healthy. Heavn'et used the Emergency meds yet. Thank God. I think we're on an up slope. hope it lasts forever.

Noelle: Did you figure out how to use the picture part? When you 'post reply" to this thread.. at the bottom is an option :attach file".. click browse, and decide what picture on your cpmputer you wanna show... then click ok, and then post your reply, It'll show up in the reply from you.. try it.

Angie: you guys get to use that snow blower yet?

Kempy: how's your exercising going? Just checkin in.

Jenni: Where are ya girl?! It can't be that bad! We're here when you're ready.

angieME 12-13-2002 01:12 PM

not much snow here yet. Jay is getting depressed. His snowmobile is just sitting in the yard being used for a bed by the cats/ LOL

melekalikimaka 12-13-2002 01:33 PM

YIKES! The picture thing works. Here I am in all my glory. Thanks for the tips ladies. Hope I didn't scare ya.

Chris, sorry to hear of your hubby's medical problem. He's lucky to have you to support him through it.

SvelteChicky 12-13-2002 05:41 PM

Noelle, you re so beautiful.. youtalk down to yourself wayyy too much. You are a gift to this world.. and a chance for all us chicks to hear about Hawaii. Just kidding, a little. Love your picture. Hubby's okay. We're living a "normal" life, for us. Everyone's home culture is different, and we're living proof. We're kindof unocnventional. I work, he stays home. He cooks for me, scrubs the bathrooms, so i don't have to... it's different than most people, but it works for us. I clean the laundry, and he makes breakfst. It's a system. Well, thought I'd put my two cents in. Hope you're on track today. Took a walk, even though it's raining. yee haa for me.

angieME 12-13-2002 05:53 PM

Yeah Noelle, You're a hotty!!! LOL You are very pretty.

Chris, congrats on the walk. You are doing great!!

Kempy and Jen, WHERE THE HECK ARE YA!!!!!!

angieME 12-14-2002 09:32 AM

2.5 pounds more gone!!!!

I hit the 30.5 pound loss mark today!!! Only 7 more to go and I am halfway done. I was surprised to see 2.5 gone this week since my period started and I have wanted to EAT all week. I haven't really overeaten... just a handful of wow chips here and there but I wanted to.

206.5 starting
176.0 current
130.0 goal

SvelteChicky 12-14-2002 03:17 PM

WOW! Angie.. I'm so proud of you. Even in the face of mega hormones, you've been good. And you can see, it pays off! Great job so far. Now, when you're half way, you can see how far you've come, and how attainable your goal weight is. Remember, just because you've taken off weight.. doesn't mean you can cheat cheat cheat. I have to tell myself that all the time. Food cannot necesarily be a reward. and stopping exercise can make it or break it for ME.

Angie: You inspire us here... stay around, so we can celebrate your goal weight!

Kempyd 12-15-2002 07:31 PM

HI all! I have been sick so I havn't been on the computer.

WOW Noelle. You are very pretty. Chris is right you talk down about yourself to much.

Chris I think it is great that your hubby does what he does. Mine would go crazy if he had to stay home. I would probably be clean for about a week and then it would start to fall into disrepair. lol

Angie, you go girl! I can't wait for Christmas to be over so I can get back on track. We have way to much going on for me to even think about working out. I am ready for January and so is Joe. For the mean time I will just keep track of what I am eating.

SvelteChicky 12-15-2002 07:44 PM

Good for you. Set yourself a goal, and give yourself some clack this time of year. It isn't fair to try too hard, and kill yourself, when all you wanna do is enjoy yourself, and indulge. Hey, it's only chrismtas once! Anyyway, it's not every day we get to eat the kinds of foods that the holidays brings -- like pumpkin pie, and sausage balls, and cheese balls, and those cheese trays... and the different cookies, and cakes, and chocolates... I could go on. I'm gonna give myself a break,a nd let it all slide a little. I now that Jan6th, I'll be back into Aerobics, and I'll watch more then. I"m not completely off the wagon, just anticipating the week ahead, and seeing how I'll fall prey to temptation. I need permission to screw up.

angieME 12-15-2002 07:46 PM

I am having a hard time this week too. I want something sweet but I don't know what. So I keep talking myself out of anything. Christmas sucks for me with the eating. I always make fudge and cookies and stuff and it is hard not to do it. But moderation is a four letter word for me. I just can't do it. LOL Soon it will all be over and we can go back to not feeling like it is the season to overeat. I hope. LOL

SvelteChicky 12-16-2002 08:05 AM

I"ll second that emotion, Angie. This holiday season is too hard to be couting, and watching, and kiling ourselves for one bite of this, a little a that. I'll be lucky if I get my walk in. That'll be my goal. Take a walk every day. Then I'll be good.

Kempyd 12-16-2002 12:36 PM

Well, I have no voice! I am still at work getting parper work done but do you realize how hard it is to stay quiet? Every time the phone rings I jump to get it. I think if I answered it they would hang up. They would think it is an obsene (sp) phone caller. lol

I broke down and had some hershey kisses today! I think I am hitting PMS. I start next week so here goes the week of chocolate cravings.

I hope all of you guys are doing great. I'll check back in later.
