The dreaded "what did you do?" phase

  • Yep, I'm back in that phase again! Which I guess tells me I'm doing everything right

Yesterday at the kids' school, about four mothers and even another student asked me what I did to my hair...well, you see what I did was, NOTHING! lol

Then I stopped by CVS (I go in there for just about anything b/c it is close) and the lady working there said "Oh my, I almost didn't recognize you, you darkened your hair!" I've always had the very same dark brown hair!

When I picked my teenager up from school, I asked her if my face seemed slimmer to her and she said yes, a lot compared to 3 weeks ago. I told her what was going on and she said as far as my hair color, it hasn't looked any different for several years now. I tend to lose my weight from the chest up first, then belly, hips thighs last, so I guess that explains it.
  • Well hey, nice compliment! Keep up the good work!
  • I lose the same way. My husband calls me "Little Face", and I love it!
  • I get these really awkward comments from a few staff members at my school that basically translate to, "You're looking slim." Immediately after, they offer me a snack/a bigger portion at lunch/a drink. It's different than them asking how my hair has changed, but it's certainly strange and sometimes annoying.
  • Yes, I know what you mean, I know we have all put our foot in our mouths at times but I try to be EXTRA sensitive about weight unless I REALLY know that person and can unleash some tough love. I haven't gained that much back of what I lost but I ran into a neighbor in a store a few months ago and he said "yeah, I remember when you turned sideways we couldn't see you" Umm, that's a lovely way to remind me that I've gained weight! lol

I don't know what it is but it always seems to be my hair. My husband said he noticed when I lost most of my weight (before gaining some of it back) that my body does this up then down loss thing and it is the same pattern of loss this time too. I'm sure that looks great, I'm a snowman, er woman, LOL
  • Ahhh I hate the "how did you do it?"
I don't have magical powers that suddenly made me lose weight.
Most of the time I just don't even know what to say because then it turns into a whole conversation. If I start explaining then more people take notice and join in and it becomes awkward haha
Usually I just say, "I didnt do anything, I ate healthy and exercised" and people somehow won't take that for an answer lol
