Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Today was weigh day. I just haven't lost anything this week. I'm soooo close to losing 25lbs. since starting but I just seem S~T~U~C~K~. I am sticking to the food plan, calorie plan and portion plan AND walking and lifting weights but I"m stuck. It's making me feel grumpy and I am envisioning a plate of brisket with coleslaw and potato salad with a nice cold beer........UGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
Just wanted to say hang in there. Keep doing what you are doing, and the weight will come off. Try not to worry about the scale and just focus on health. Easier said than done, I know, but this is what helps me sometimes. You can do this!
Oh my. I heard that sigh from all the way over here.
Stuck happens. It really does. And it sucks. But if you are on plan and exercising, you just have to keep doing what you're doing. Eventually the scale will start moving again.
I personally have a very stable pattern of losing for two weeks and then stalling for two weeks. Once I figured that out, the stalls were much easier to take. And the exercise really wreaks havoc with the scale for me. I drop dress sizes, but not necessarily pounds. It took me a long time to be ok with that, but eventually I had to come to terms with it. You will too.
Stick with it. Stick with it. STICK WITH IT!!! Those pounds may be stubborn - you just have to be MORE stubborn. Keep eating well and exercising and creating a calorie deficit and the weight will have no choice but to come off.
Forget the stupid brisket and potato salad and beer. Make yourself a nice dinner of grilled salmon or chicken with a big, gigantic salad loaded with romaine hearts, baby spinach, grape tomatoes, red onions, bell peppers, cukes, shredded carrots, hearts of palm, sliced strawberries. Or perhaps some yummy roasted turnips instead. This way you'll be having delicious food - and food that's good FOR YOU.
Hang tough. It's worth it. I look forward to hearing of your progress.
Yup, stick with it, it WILL budge eventually. My weight's been floating around the same 4-5lbs and it's driving me nuts, but I know if I keep with it, something will happen. As frustrating as it is to be stuck, it's more frustrating to give up/cheat and gain!
Stick with it! For the last 10-12 days I was in this darn plateau... started off fast and lost about 20 lbs. right away but got to 233 and the weight stopped coming off, my body just wanted no part of it. So I changed my routine... started walking more and going on longer bike rides and EATING MORE, healthy foods of course. This week it started coming off again, 229 lbs. as of this morning. So don't quit now, our bodies don't like change but in the end they really have no choice.
let me tell you, last week I didn't lose one pound! I even gained two back, and relost the two I had regained, and this week I lost two more pounds, so some weeks are better then others!
don't stress about not losing the weight as quickly as you would like. Stress can really really hurt a diet. If you would like you can try and shake things up a bit, try new things. but weight loss is all about patience.
Yes stick with it!!!! Do you do mesurements also/ On the weeks I didn't loose #s I lost inches. Also if you are lifting heavier weighrts you may need to bring up cals....I know that is scary but when I lost the bulk of my weight I got stuck and one of the maintainers here suggested a uping cals cause I was putting my body into starvation mode and it was holding the weight. It worked!!!
Thanks everyone! I have just been working so dang hard all week with extra miles and extra reps I really thought that would be the little extra umphhh to start the weight loss again. And no, I might have thought about that brisket and beer, but I wouldn't give in
I just wanted to thank the above posters for their support, and advice. I followed up on some of the advice and wow what a breakthrough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I weighed 247 lbs when I first posted my disappointment.
I have since lost 10 lbs and 11.5 inches !!!!!!!!
THANKS YA'LL I really appreciate it

One thing I discovered along the way is that I'd get temporary stalls the week before TOM or the day or two after eating high-carb or high-salt meals. I've had a couple of times when I weighed the same for three weekly weigh-ins in a row and wondered if I needed to change things up--I'd usually have a good week the week after that, though.
