Default Losing pounds but not inches?

So today I weighed myself and I'm down to 215, but my measurements haven't budged at all since 220. What is up with that? How can I lose 5 pounds and not see evidence of it in measurements? Does this mean my scale is wrong or something? I am just throughly confused and more than a bit frustrated! When I was this weight before, my measurements were less than they are now. Do I need to pass another hump or something before I'll see a change again?
Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with you, but I have the exact opposite of your problem! I can see inches being lost and very few pounds. I think just give it time and a little faith, it will even out. Sometimes it takes the scale and our bodies a little time to adjust. Just keep at it and you will see those results!

Right after I dropped below 200 lbs. my waist measurement completely stalled out. I dropped 35 lbs before it budged even half an inch. The weight was just coming off places I don't measure, but still was very frustrating.

thanks - it makes me feel much better hearing that others have the same problem. I guess I'll just have to keep at it and eventually I'll see a difference again

Five pounds when you weigh over 200 is not enough to show up as measurement difference. Don't give up--as you lose more, the difference will show up.

what Jayell said!
Don't be in such a rush to see huge differences. Also you have to take into account human error. if you use a tape measure, reasonable BTW, t may depend on how tight you pull it or not in how you will see results.

Great on the 5 down, you seem to be on the right track so keep it up!

You are only supposed to take measurements once a month for this very reason. 5 pounds isn't enough to lose inches. Your body doesn't lose pounds and inches at the same time. Those weeks when the weight loss is tiny or nonexistant are when the measurements are changing and you have no control over where the change takes place.

I had the same problem! Well I still do! Sometimes I'll drop weight and my measurements stay the same. My guess is, like me, you probably don't measure all parts of your body just key ones, so maybe you are losing in the places you aren't measuring? It is probably the case. Don't get to discouraged, keep up the good work and I'm sure in no time you will see results!

Is this true? If so, that'd make me feel a whole lot better about stalling out for a little while.

I know 5 pounds is a lot of weight to lose, but honestly, it depends on where you lose it from. If you lose it from all over your body, it's less likely to show up in the measurements. Don't let it derail you - keep going - you are doing great!!
