tired

  • I started my journey to become a curvey little number a couple of weeks ago - the first week was just watching what I ate to see my habits.

Then I started Slim in Six and maintaining a log on the dailyplate (= gold). Also added more water and a one a day vitamin.

The first two days on the slim in Six Start it Up were wonderful, full of energy. Walking around the office during breaks cause I just wanted to move. Then Start it Up, while tiring, was not exactly pushing me to failure, so I was going to move to ramp it up tomorrow.

But today - I am WIPED. I have a very intensive troupe belly dance class tonight, and I have to be on the muscle. Am I missing something in my diet?

::I was going to post a link to my dailyplate diary, which is the only way for me to show you my eating schedules, but I can't yet - damn:::. So if there is a way to go in their and look I'm burlyqofborg

I realize I'm still tweaking the food - sugar is too high and sodium is higher then I want it, but not over the daily recomended.

I so appreciate the thoughts of everyone here on the forum...thank you all so much for your help!
  • I empathize with you. I feel awful today- just sore and totally wiped out. I did my "Melt it off" video last night and then went for a 50 minute walk with my dog and today I feel awful. I might be coming down with something because yesterday's activity wasn't out of the norm for me so I think it's something else. My diet has been good, so I don't think it's that.
  • It took me a few weeks to not feel wiped after starting working out. I think I started out too fast and should have worked out like every other day instead of daily, but I pushed through it, and my energy came back! I was afraid to drop my exercise down because it wasn't a habit yet and I was afraid I'd lose interest
  • Sometimes just a multi-vitamin alone is not enough- usually they only have 400IU of vitamin D and now doctor's are saying you should be taking at least double that- try adding a second vitamin that's vitamin D + calcium because you can lose a lot of these working out and losing weight.

Other than that if you aren't getting enough sleep I suggest trying to get some more in as well.

Good luck! It took me a few weeks after starting vitamins to start feeling better btw.

  • When I was in track I would get
worn out ALL the time. Just be careful,
don't push yourself, eat right, etc.

I pushed myself too much and
    didn't listen to my sore/fatigued
body and I ended up spraining my hip.

It wasn't pretty, it took about 2 months
to heal and even after that I couldn't do
physical activity for another 3 or 4 weeks.

  • I couldn't figure out how to see your daily plate entries, but what occurs to me is that you are "tweaking" your sugar. I think you posted the other day that you are trying to reduce? That may be contributing to your tired feeling. If that is the case, it will pass. I know; I recently cut refined carbs and was wiped and hungry for about a week.

And, as others have mentioned, don't overdo the exercise just starting out. Make sure you eat enough to properly fuel yourself. It's a balance - eating enough to have energy, but not so much that you don't lose! It may take some experimenting until you figure out what works for you.
  • Since people have been giving you good advice on food:
-Could you be near your period? I'm always wiped out in the days before mine starts, no matter how healthy I think I'm eating.
-Or has it been hotter than normal?
-Or perhaps you didn't sleep as well as you should have?
-Do you feel more stressed out than normal?
I feel like our bodies are just complicated. Some days, you're just tired. Be nice to yourself! Go to bed early if you can. Take a bubble bath. Listen to your body...it clearly needs a little TLC
