Default Maintenance break over...couple questions

So I hit "goal" a month ago and started maintenance. So far so good. Not thrilled with the way I've gone about maintaining exactly, but I'm maintaining none the less and I know I can work out a plan I'm proud of when I get there. Now I'm ready to get back to work for a few more lbs, but things are a little different now. While on my maintenance break I started training for a half marathon and taking my strength training pretty seriously. So my caloric needs are pretty important to my training and making sure I'm getting the proper fuel for my body under these circumstances. I know that creating a deficit while training can be tricky. Does anyone have any tips?

So far in maintenance I've stuck to "losing mode" during the week and slacked off on the weekends. I feel good on my runs and ST sessions during the week so I think if I just tighten up on the weekends the scale will start moving and I won't suffer any problems with my training. Does this sound like a reasonable plan? I'm also thinking about setting my cals just under the maintenance cals for my "goal weight" that way they're a litte higher fir the energy I'll need. I know I'll lose a little slower this way but I'm ok with that, especially if it means when I finally hit goal I'll already be at maintenance.
