Default why is it soooo hard this time?

So I have been loosing my post baby stress weight. I am a foodie and have always had to workout out to stay healthy and to look good. I got pregnant with my daughter and when she was born she developed brain damage due to negligence. I didn't have time to cook and she didn't stop screaming from morning until night when she would conk out from exhuastion. So we started eating easily avaible stuff, junk food, and so I started to gain more weight. I was 125 before I had her and went up to 170 during pregnancy, I gained an additonal 15lbs after her birth over the course of her first year putting me at 185!!!! My mother came to visit and was so shocked by my appearance it shocked me out of my cocoon. I started to walk on the treadmill she bought me and then after dropping some water weight focused on my eating habits. I started in October of 2009 and lost almost 30lbs by March, so roughly 5 lbs a month. I felt like it was a steady loss and I was happy with it.
Then I went on vacation and gained back about 5lbs. I started once again this May and dropped the 5lbs gained but am not getting to far. I feel like I can't get out of the 150s. I am doing so well as far as eating and working out.I recently lowered my calories to around 1400 and I am just bouncing around the 150s. I know I have to keep at it for more then a week but I need some encouragment and some stories of others who have had maybe something similar happen to them.

Sorry it got so long! thanks for reading

Are you breast feeding? That can make it hard to lose. Are you measuring out your portions or eye-balling them? I started weighing and measuring and was surprised to find how far off I was from eye-balling.

AND - I SWEAR my body is different now than it used to be... I don't know if it is an over 30 thing or if it is a post baby thing... or both? But it is just NOT as easy as it used to be for me, either! I work SO hard for each and every little ounce lost. I just have to keep at it. Keep eating veggies. Keep the portions in check. Exercise has really helped me, too.

Wow, that's rough. My little man (9 weeks) has colic and I know the pressure of a 24/7 screaming baby makes it difficult to take care of yourself, let alone your situation with the brain damage and negligence. That's a very difficult burden. It might be a post baby thing, I am also finding it hard and I never had trouble losing weight before (I only did it once and maintained for many years). Part of it may be our changing bodies, the other part is not having the same time for ourselves, whether it is to prepare food or even just get some decent sleep.

SCraver no I am not breastfeeding. My daughter stopped eating altogether at 3 months. She has a tube in her belly now.
I am measuring....aghh! Thanks for the advice and encouragment. Its ridiculous how our bodies want to hold on to this weight,

sacha oh poor you! colic is horrible! Yeah its hard and I am lazy because I have so much to do with her I am like forget it I want to laze around on my off days of no DR appointments. haha You are sooo close! Only 10 lbs left. I am just dying to get out of the 150s

I wish I had more advice or a better story. I have had stalls in the past. But I can trace them to something I wasn't doing right. Well always not eating right. I remember getting really frusterated because I felt I was doing so much better than I had been doing. But unlike you I was still making poor food choices. Not often but it apparently doesn't take often for me to put on a few lbs. You are doing everything right. Perhaps after lowering your calories you'll see a whoosh soon. I think it sounds like your doing an awesome job and stick in there. It is worth it and it will come off!!
