Default Summer or Winter

So do you feel it is easier to eat healthier in the summer or winter? For me it's the summer because there are more fresh veggies and fruits to pick from the road side stands. For some reason I have got in the bad habit of eating heavier foods in the winter time.

So which is for you Summer or Winter eating?

Winter. Not so much eating as lifestyle. One, I am a teacher, and I always want to munch in the summer when I am home all day. Also, it's actually harder to exercise when I have more time: during the school year, my whole life is broken into 1 hour chunks, and exercise is just one of them. I don't think about it. Lastly, I am in TX, and it's just too damn hot to walk outside at any speed, so my options for exercise are more limited (not to mention all this heat really makes exercising a depressing idea).

Summer is easier for me! I wear less clothing so I'm hyper aware of what eating poorly does to my body.

Definitely summer! I feel very energetic and alive in the summer and I actually crave healthy foods. And it's easy to eat healthy in the summer because everything is so fresh and tasty. In winter I feel like a total slug. The cold dark days just make me want to curl up in a corner and eat cookies.

Summer! Lots to do outside, and because of where I live more less expensive veggie/fruit options. Winter is SO cold....it gets me to being more lazy, but I hope to break through that this winter!

Can I cheat and say Fall?
Summer is too unscheduled for my liking and I'm away from my gym. Winter just makes me think of Christmas.

September to November please!

Definitely summer because in the winter I love making hearty soups like potato mushroom and potato leek, along with barley and winter vegie dishes that are loaded with starches. Salad doesn't seem to cut it in the winter.

Summer, for sure! In the winter, I'm couped up in the house more because of bad weather, or because I simply don't want to get out in the cold. My downfall in the winter is I love to bake, bake, bake. And because I'm bored and can't get out and do stuff, I'm much more apt to munch on stuff. I'm actually really afraid of falling off the wagon this winter! =/

And actually, Spring is my favorite time of the year to diet. Everyone usually wants to try to get their body ready for summer, you can smell summer in the air, and the temperatures are perfect for walking outside--without coming close to having a heat stroke.

Each season is just different for me, none better or worse than another.

This Summer I have been extremely active, but past summers have been extremely sedentary. I work in the schools so I'm back up to being pretty active Fall-Spring, but I can be sedentary then too if I allow myself to be. So it doesn't matter the season, my activity level is up to me.

As for foods, I love them all! I buy fruit regardless of whether or not it's in season since it's always at the grocery store. And in the Fall I get to eat things like winter squashes, which I love, and sweet potatoes.
