Clothing makes all the difference.... or .... First compliment

  • Well, its only been a few lbs on the scale, but alot of hard work on the exercise in the 2 weeks I've been back on track trying to lose.

Today, a coworker complimented me on my outfit and what she perceived as my weight loss. I'm wearing white capri's and a blouse that hugs my top but flairs at the belly and comes to my hips. So, it fits well in my upper body and hides my butt and thighs (my problem areas). So, it is a flattering outfit.

Granted, these pants are a bit loser than they were a couple weeks ago. They aren't baggy yet. She noticed and complimented me.

It is encouraging - especially since I have been discouraged by the scale this week. (TOM due any day too, which doesn't help).
  • Congrats. I love it when people compliment me as I lose weight. It's really encouraging. : )

  • It was really shocking how many compliments I got when I began losing weight. I wasn't even 15-20lbs down and everyone was commenting that I had lost "A LOT" of weight lol. I think it also had something to do with how I was carrying myself, how I felt more confident, and pulled older clothes back out of the closet that cinched in under my chest (I carry most of my weight in my hips, butt & legs)vand showed off my curves :P

I try to focus on that- more on how I look and how I feel rather than pounds.
  • Good Job!!! Keep it up!
  • That's awesome!

I've lost 25 pounds and not a single person has said anything. I finally went to one of the guys I am friends with and I work with and said 'Hey, did you know I've lost 25 pounds now?'

He said 'Yeah I noticed, but I thought it would be rude to say anything'

I thought that was odd, but my fiance's sister hates comments about her body whether they are nice or bad so I guess I can see that side of it too.

On the positive side, a couple friends I hadn't seen in a long time really noticed

Good work and keep it up! Even if it's not just the pounds moving, you could be losing inches and getting more toned which is much more noticeable.
