I am SO GLAD for all of the people I have met here. I read every post in the forums I moderate and many other areas besides, and it brightens my day to see everyone providing so much support and encouragement to all members, whether those members have been here for a day or 5 years.
Not only would I have struggled so much more to reach my goal without 3FC, I'd struggle to maintain it, too. And every day I learn something new from you lovely folks.
So thank you to each and every one of you for all you contribute here. 3FC wouldn't be the same without you.
(Forgive me for being a little sentimental here, but my New Year's Resolution this year was, essentially, "When in doubt, do the good". So whenever something nice to say about or do for someone comes to mind, and I find myself thinking "do you think I should, or is that weird/unnecessary/strange", my resolution was to just DO the nice thing and not overthink it. So while walking my dog tonight, I was thinking about what a wonderful place 3FC was, and decided, you know what, I want to share that.)
What a wonderful post! I'm glad you made that resolution because your post really warmed my heart! It's funny because just the other day, I was thinking about this movie with Jim Carey called Yes Man? I think that's the name. Anyway, in this movie, he pretty much says yes to everything and ends up learning so much in the process. I don't think I'll take it to that extreme, but I want to say yes more often to things....so your resolution kind of made me think of the change I want to make in my life too.
I would also like to thank you directly. You are such a voice of reason and logic all wrapped up into support and great advice! Same goes for Heather, by the way.
Mandalinn, you are a wonderful inspiration to us, both in our weight loss journey and life attitudes. Thank YOU for being part of the good stuff that 3fc brings to us.
Mandalinn, what a wonderful resolution Thank you so much for always being so helpful, kind, and inspirational. And I think you're doing a fabulous job a a moderator
Talk about learning so much from each other! Man! Without this thread, I wouldn't have learned about such a wonderful resolution!
I too love this place. I don't think I've run across any negative threads in the three months I've been hanging out. We have the occasional pop vs. no pop and sugar vs. aspartame drama, but we also keep it in check. It's just a really, really motivational and supportive place to be.
That is a super resolution, "When in doubt, do the good!" My mother used to tell us "If you don't have anything good to say, then it's better not to say anything" -- so I have been trying to keep that in mind too.
Presently, I am reading a book by Norman Vincent Peale called "The power of positive thinking" and he really believes that we are what we think and say ... and that we can change our world from the inside out by switching to a more positive mindset. Your resolution would fit in perfectly ...
