Yep...a New Year. So hopeful, so delightful. 100 pounds is a major feat, but it CAN be done. It can be done before this year is done...I hope that one year from today that you are on the other side cheering on the folks who are just beginning to take their first steps to freedom. Starting a New Year, a new decade, without the baggage is a dream come true. I wish you the best in 2010.

sure, you can do it. it's a challenge to lose weight, esp coming out of the holidays when the average person's mindset is indulge in goodies, ha (um, actually I'm saying that was my mindset, ahem). but it's habit and routine and fine tuning. not too much luck that I can think of (unless you count, say, dropping a donut on the floor accidently so you don't end up eating it)

If I can do it You can do it I am down more than 200 pounds to date so if I can drop 200 you can drop 100! I wish you luck on your journey even though luck has nothing to do with it, determination, drive, willpower and staying strict is what it will take but if you want it you can have it.

As Ever

Deciding to do it and starting are the hardest part. Give it a few weeks and I'm sure you'll start to feel like it's more doable! It really isn't that hard once you set your mind to it, make peace with the idea that you aren't going to eat the way you used to ever again, and come up with a plan that you feel comfortable with. And then the positive changes help to propel you along. I guess what I'm saying is, don't go into it thinking it's going to be hard. A challenge at times, yes, but you're up for a challenge, right?

Me too. I give up as soon as I hit a plateau. That's why this time I chose to focus more on my time goal, which is to still be on plan one year from my start date. No matter what my body does, I want to see where I'll be one year from my start date. So I may have a bad day, but that's all it's going to be. Every day I make a new commitment to myself which is really easy to do. My weight is the first thing I've thought about upon waking for as long as I remember.

If you have any doubts on whether or not you CAN do this, rest assured that you absolutely CAN do this. Losing weight and lots of it IS a doable thing for anyone and everyone. Yourself included. Weight loss is not some crazy, unheard of, out of this world, far-fetched, scheme. It's something that each and every one of us has the power and the capabilities to achieve. Know that and take comfort from that. You want to lose weight? Than choose it. Take the steps necessary to achieve it. DECIDE to do this - commit to do this - and then it shall be done. Don't dread this. But be excited about it. Look forward to it. Challenge yourself. Raise your standards. Require more from yourself. Then step up to meet the challenge. Devise a plan, map out a plan of action to get the job done.

I for one won't wish you luck - why? Because luck won't do a darn thing for you. No. Losing weight's got nothing to do with luck. Which is a good thing. Luck is something that we can't control. It's something that happens to you - if you're lucky. For weight loss to occur - well YOU'VE got to MAKE it happen. It won't happen on its own. You've got to work for it. No relying on anyone or anything. Just you, you and more you. You've got the power. You control it. You hold the key. It's something that you CAN manipulate. Which is an excellent thing. It's fantastic that something so important and so vital is NOT left up to chance. No, it's left up to YOU. With hard work, perseverance, determination, effort, commitment, patience, persistence, consistency and the right mind set - weight loss is yours. It's yours!!! It's yours for the taking. So by all means - take it!

I look forward to hearing of your progress.
