Default Broken Scale?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place!

So...this morning, the morning of my 20th birthday...I stepped upon my Taylor Lithium scale. And the reading said 155.4. Impossible, I think! I was 158.8 but four days ago (keeping in mind that two days ago I started my TOM).

I stepped off the scale, incredulous. When Taylor scales get bumped a bit, they give incorrect readings and have to be reset by stepping off and letting it settle. I stepped on again, confident it should be the correct weight this time. Again, 155.4 exactly. And again. Annnd again.

Is...is it true? Have I met my most cherished mini-goal of the moment on my birthday? Or is the dang thing mocking me again??

P.S: After each reading, when I step off, the screen displays a tiny little 'o' that flashes over on the left side. I think it does this every time. And it was NOT flashing the standard ERROR thing it does when bumped. But...surely. Surely I didn't actually LOSE 20lbs? Right? Man, this probably takes self-doubt to a whole new level...

I drop about 5lbs on day three of my period every month, of course I've usually put on a little bit in the days leading up but I'm convinced that the weight I put on is 'water weight' but the weight that comes off is 'fat weight'. I guess the thing you want to hear is that it will stay off and it does for me, so well done on your mini goal and happy birthday.

And if you're 5'6" and 155lbs you have a BMI of 25, so you're not overweight any more, congratulations on that too!

Thanks, everyone! Even if it is lying to me, I don't care. It was nice to see those numbers!
And thanks for birthday wishes! <3

we have the same scale...so I chuckled about this...because I think mine is broke sometimes because it doesn't register any weight loss..or a weight gain. great that your scale is broken like it is!

Just kidding. I know it is real.
