Default When You Get Away With It

Does anyone else have awful weeks where they just eat pizza and drink daiquiris and sit on their *** all week, and they go to their weigh-in and think 'oh my God,I'm going to have put on about 50lbs this week', and then when you get on the scale they've lost weight?

This just happened to me. I was thinking 'please God just let me stay the same this week' and I lost 1 and a half pounds! WTH?!

Is this going to bite me on the *** next week? I'm going to be really good this week, but what's the deal with this kind of thing?

it *might* bite you in the *** next week. anything could be goingon, maybe you were pre TOM last weigh in so your weight was high, or maybe you were dehydrated this morning. if you stick to plan this week, you should be ok.

ps this has NEVER happened to me. if i go off plan for like 2 days i gain weight.

This has happened to me. It has always scared me. Even though logically I know that I've been given a pass THIS TIME and it won't happen continuously, I'm always afraid that the little devil on my shoulder will kick in everytime I want something ...

'you know you can have it; you got away with it last time ....

I have no idea why this happens. I suspect it is because your body is in losing mode, so it doesn't switch gears with one slip. I have found, unfortunately by experience, that if I stray too frequently I don't get the free pass anymore and not only will I not lose weight, I gain it right away.

This is part of what we mean when we say weight loss isn't linear and what you do day 1 isn't always reflected day 2. It is certainly possible that it will bite you back later.

But either way, it was a blip, it is over, and you are back on plan! Right?

Happens to me every once in awhile. Sometimes I wonder if its because I just freak out about slipping, and it's really not as bad as I make it out to be.

Haha, in my experience, it bites me in the *** about a week later.

This. At least some of the time.

It always shows up for me. Right away, in fact. Guess my body's sensitive to junk food. Dang. No breaks for me.

Actually, come to think of it, I'd rather have it show up right away than a week later. At least then I can nip it in the bud.

To the OP: Make sure you're on plan this week, and it will be fine. If you still see an increase, then it's most likely water retention from the sodium/carb overload. That will leave after a few days. Good luck! Hope it keeps going down!

You are one LUCKY ducky! It seems that just one bite of something "sinful" and I'm up 5 pounds!

I agree that the scale is likely reflecting something that happened before you ate junk, like retention that made your last weigh in not as much as it could have been. If you would have been on plan this week it probably would have been one of those "WHOOSH" weeks we all love. (I'm not trying to depress you or anything! )
