Default FREEDOM 5K ~ 4th Of JULY Results

Well Angie and I did a 5K and a bit more today, 4 miles.

It was a route we do on occasion down the beach for 2 miles and back. We park at a beach cafe and when we return we have coffee and croissants...today we split an egg and cheese and an egg/basil/tomato one.

The mutts had their water and turkey jerky of course

The beach was already loading up with people at 6:30am.

We plan to go back again tomorrow...

TIME ~ We had a great time! (right at 55 minutes)

ROUTE ~ A 2 mile trip down the southern California coast and back

WEATHER ~...it's California..."perfect"

HAVE A HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!

Boy, that sounds lovely! You're making me miss California, I grew up in the East Bay.

In about an hour I'm going to walk to downtown Brooklyn, then do clothes shopping and see a movie. It's about a 2.5 mile walk to the clothes store, then 1/2 back to theater, by the time I get home it will easily make the 5K goal (and be fun!)

Lovely day here!

Enjoy your day DRAGONWOMAN

Angie and I were wanting to see Public Enemies yesterday but never fit it in.

My step-daughter is back here for the summer...she goes to Wagner.

Angie and I got in 4 miles this morning with a walk to Starbucks, bunny poo park and home. It was nice not having to rush back home. We usually have to hustle because Angie needs to get back for bell choir practice...she is off for the summer

So I am adding another 5K....oh yeah!

TIME ~ 1 3/4 hours which included chasing bunnies through the park (thank goodness none were caught!) and coffee and tea...scone for Angie...turkey treats for the mutts with a mocha frappachino... water

ROUTE ~ Out the track and down the main road to Starbucks, the back route home with a detour through bunny poo park.

WEATHER ~6:15am to 8:00am...cool, t-shirt and shorts weather....perfect...sun is shining now...will be a gorgeous 4th!

ENJOY YOUR 4TH!

I just finished my 5k about 2 hours ago. It was torrential rain. You should have seen us we were like drowned rats. I hope this rain lets up for later.

We walked it I don't know what our time was.

The proceeds went to Juvenile Diabetes.

I get to add 1.8 miles, since I walked back! Altogether between 4 and 5 miles walked today. Thanks for that challenge, I wouldn't have bothered to walk if I hadn't signed up for it. Was lucky today was so nice weather wise too.

Great work, group!

bunnies are great, I never thought of them as a source of exercise, just goes to show, you can find it in the funniest places.

Did a 5k walk this morning, bright and early, 8:00 am. I hate walking, it bores me. I wanted to break into a jog. A deer came crashing out of the woods right behind me. Just about ran over a guy. That was fun. 45:03 was my time.

Well it's a far cry from last year's 5K but I did complete one yesterday and will go for another today. Yesterday I walked 2.35 miles at my usual pace, then added another mile and a half mowing our lawn. I prefer not counting chores as exercise but for now it helps me reach the goal. Today we are going on a 2 mile hike and I hope to get out for a short neighborhood walk this afternoon.

Thanks for the push EZ. It's too easy to get frustrated waiting for this darned nerve thing to heal but I need to keep moving!

I did it! Another 4 miles today - half hiking and the other half at a good aerobic pace. And in a complete change of pace this year it isn't raining.

Well, I moved into a new apartment this weekend so my 5K was postponed until today. Better late then never, though! 3.75 miles/37 minutes - woohoo!

Gary - Never came and posted my results!

I did mine on Monday afternoon 7/6, had to put up ceiling fans on the 4th as my AC went out... again...

38:04, mix of walking, running & sprinting at different inclines. Still not going for a great time, going more for the HIIT impact! Actually did two this week, Monday & Wednesday, with about the same time. Yay!
