    Hi there everyone

    Happy Friday to you all. I am excited about our first weigh in . I think I lost alittle. Gosh, the last twenty pounds are so stubborn! I've been OP and exercising well every day so hopefully the scale will reflect that. Yesterday I saw this post on another site that had an image attached to it that showed what 5lbs of fat looked like compared to 5 lbs. of muscle. It was not pretty! Anywho, I printed the image and taped it to my frig. My hubby came home and was like Oh, that new picture is nice, hon!(jokingly).

    We are leaving for New England early tomorrow morning and will be back the following Sat. I have a question though. Can I still hop on my moms puter under my name so I can check in with you all though the week? If not, Gen, I will just post my weight tonight.

    Emaleyth~ The way you described your bathing suit adventure was too funny! I hear you on the choices we have to pick from too. It's ridiculous. I'm glad you found a suit though. Sounds nice.

    Gen~That is good news about your new membership at the other gym. Hope you like it.

    Well I had restful sleep last night. Something I haven't had in a while. But it feels good to get up with the birds. Call me crazy but I think you get more out of your day if you get up earlier. Anyway when do we weigh in today or tomorrow?

    Hey, Ladyslipper. I'd like to get a view of that picture of muscle vs. fat. Not that I am into that but it would be interesting to look at everytime the scale doesn't budge. Another thing...I am glad you post your weight for everyone to see. So that people like me who are in the 200's can believe that it is possible. Because when I was reading your post all that came to mind was "It is possible! So don't give up!" Wow I am truly inspired.

    Emaleyth was that your own life story of buying a bathing suit or was that a story you came across? Either way it was truly "uplifting". That was too funny. I had to read it over. Nothing but solid colors here.

  • Hey! I'm not going to post my weight loss till the end of the challenge. Someone please PM if I forget come 7/20/02 (Remember I'm a new sleep deprived mom who forgets alot lol)I decided to do that because I'm starting to become scale OBSESSED! I was someone addicted to the scale before and would do ridiculous things the day before weigh in to make sure I had a lost. I don't want to be that person. I will check in with everyone throughout the challenge just won't weigh myself. Hopefully this will help me not beccome compulsive and there will be a nice little lose at the end of the month.     hi everyone- I have to post early because I'm on my way to work. Well Thank God I lost that pound I had gained, so I can report a 3 pound loss. I lost 3 originally over last weekend and then gained that 1 and after busting my behind after my day of cheating finally lost that 1. So Gennel put me down for a 3 pound loss.     I'm very happy to report a 4 lb loss this week (actually, the first weigh-in was 9 days ago, at the challenge start). Now, I know this is mostly water weight, since I just got started. That rate is completely unsustainable for me. However, it is a very nice reward for finally getting started, and I have this challenge to thank for that!!!! Thank you everyone!

    Don't cha feel great for it? My weigh in results are that i maintained (again!)...well no doubt when i cannot journal right now and have all this company. But i am chosing well. Not much different foods than i normally eat. OK, i did eat 2 little chocolates! I fess. But before ya know it company will be gone and then i will really bust butt. Thanks all for being there. Talk later, going to see a concert by HEART tonite! So i posted early. Be strong all...i will chose well today with my meals also.

  • Wowsers! Everyone is doing great. That is so good. For my first week up in lights I have to say I maintained. Better than a gain that is for sure. But can you believe that even though I have been exercising 4 times a night with Denise Austin. But you know I do feel it in my clothes. So I must be losing inches at this point. I guess you go through that...you lose weight, then you lose inches, and back and forth until you get where you want to be. I can say that I lost 1 inch since last week. That makes me feel a whole lot better about my week.

    I have a question. Does anyone know if those ab rollers really work? I borrowed my mom's. I have only used once for 5 min. Boy those 5 min are really screaming today.

    Well thumbs to all you LOSERs. That is great. Keep it up.

    My loss for this week (and 2 days) is 3 pounds. I'm finally under 230 for the first time in years! Yes! Congrats to all.

    Kina, I don't know if the ab-roller works, but if you can feel it in your abdominal muscles, I'd say it must be working them, right?

    I went to my sister's house last night and she gave me a whole bunch of seeds and flower starts. If it doesn't rain too much today, I'm going to finish weeding my front flower-bed and plant them. Some women on another thread were cleaning out their refrigerators. I guess I should do that today too. Yuck! I think it's been 10 years since I've cleaned and defrosted it. (O.K. in case you think I'm even more of a slob than I am, I don't think it's been quite 10 years!)

    Jen, congrats on the 3 lb loss for this weigh in girl! You are on your way.
    Kina, I feel a little down when I see there is no loss for a week, but I get over quick like you did. Because it is better than a gain just like you said! I was so sure that I would lose at least 2-3 lbs this week! But I lost 1 lb. However,I keep losing inches so the heavy workouts I had at the Gym really work! When you see that you dont lose pounds measure yourself. I think it was about 3 weeks ago where I measured out of curiosity, my waist was at 32 inches and measured again today and my waist went down to 30.5!! These last pounds are gonna leave with a fight! But they will leave! lol

    I am happy to report a 2.8 lbs loss!!! So I am on my way. Just need to start exercising. I am very happy with new thing. Am trying to eat good, and get more veggies in...That one is hard, better start looking at my cookbooks and the receipes on this 3fc places.

    The rain here is driving me nuts already ! The normal rainfall for this month usually is 7 inches! And I heard it was around 15 inches instead! ugh!!! I would'nt mind if I was in the Gym right now but since I have to wait for this membership I will have to walk at the park until it comes!! I'm dreading the thought!
    I got to get back to drinking a lot of water too.

    Hi everyone. Today my dad offered to get me a discount membership at his gym. It is an excellent deal and I really could get a lot out of it. The thing is I feel strange accepting the invitation. My dad has always had a problem with my weight. He has rode me since I was 12 to lose weight. I seem to have as many issues in my relationship with him as I do with food and weight loss. As I said the deal is almost to good to pass up. Question is how do I get over my ill feelings towards him? When I was over 300 pounds he was embarrassed by me and wasn't good at hiding it. The more weight I lose and the better he seems to be with me. A part of me wants to scream that I am the same person with the 60 pounds off as I was with it on. It's only my outside that has changed. I'm trying to change my whole state of being. Make improvements with my mind and emotional state as well as my physical state. So how have any of you dealt with people who treat you differently now that your losing weight? I really need help here, so if anyone has any advice please pass it my way. Thanks, Di

  • Hi all.

    Grizzlyschick, I wish I had words of wisdom. What a situation to be in. In many cases, it works to just say...well, that's his/her problem, but when it's your dad, I just don't know. If the gym membership is what you want, though, go for it if you can. It's something many people just can't afford. I, myself, have a hard time excersizing in front of other people, but I know a lot of others really find it useful. Good luck.
