Your question was how do you keep going? And my answer to your question is another question: why would you stop? To gain all the weight back? To be unhappy again? What you're doing is modifying your life.....for life. It's not a quick fix, it's not a blip in the radar, it's not just something you have to begrudgingly do for a little bit until you lose the weight and then you can go back to your old habits. It's a change that's going to be with you, for the most part, forever. To be healthy and happy it has to be permanent.

I'm with Robin, LoriBell and LittleMoonRabbit on this.

When I first started lurking around on 3FC, I read the Maintainers section almost exclusively. Over and over I read that "maintaining looks just like losing", and eventually it dawned on me that eating right and exercising were going to be in my future... forever! So now, when weight loss slows down or - yikes - stops for a while, I just take a deep breath and keep on keepin' on. If the weight loss continues, that's great but if it doesn't, well, I'm eating healthily and that's an end in itself. But I know in my heart I will get there - 150lbs - or maybe even less. Just keepin' on keepin' on.

If I had to name the most valuable thing that I've learned from reading in 3FC, this would be it. Even though it seems obvious now and makes perfect sense, it honestly never really occurred to me that this change must be permanent. It's not something I can ever stop; not if I want to maintain a slim and healthy lifestyle. This knowledge makes it a little bit easier to keep going when the scale isn't rewarding me, because I know that when I do reach my goal weight (and I will), it's not like anything will be different. I will still exercise, I will still count calories, I will still need to be conscious of what I eat.
