Good morning all

I hope everyones weekend went well.

Es, I'm glad to hear Pete's doing much better.

A little bit about me. I'm 17 and a senior in high school/freshmen in college. Right now I'm trying to get into the nursing program here to become a RN and from there I'm going on to become a surgeon. I work at Government Employees Credit Union (GECU). I come home from work and school, get all my homework done, cleaning, whatever done. My brother and his wife just moved in with us, so I'm helping to raise my 18 month nephew. I've got 3 dogs. Two collies, Max who's 15 and Awp who's 2, and Randy who's 2 and he's a Great Pyrenees/Grey Wolf. I'm not on any specific diet. It's all being done on my own now. I played softball and volleyball up until my life became so busy I had to quit. I'm currently looking for my own apartment (isnt going to well). I've lived in El Paso most of my life and I cant stand it here.

Zoe, wow 9.5 lbs!!

Hello and good morning to everyone else. I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

jenjen 06-17-2002 07:58 PM

Hi gang! Well, it's been a Monday. Not horrible, I was just stuck in meetings most of the day.

Cathy, Your yard sounds wonderful. I'm sorry for your loss. I know that must be tough when he was so much a part of your life.

Mota, WOW! You are busy. I was worn out just reading all of it. Good for you for going to nursing school and on to Med school. You sound very motivated and driven. What an inspiration.

Es, Glad your husband is feeling better. Hep C is a nasty thing. I hadn't heard there was a reversal drug for that. Doesn't sound like it's a great thing though with all the side effects.

Zoe, Congrats on your loss! You are doing awesome!

Okay...About me. I'm 30 - almost 31. Single, no pets. I work for the state. I administer some grant programs for our agency. I have a Master's in Healthcare Administration. I had lost a lot of weight (I was down to 190, with about 20 pounds to go), but I started the new job, moved, etc etc. and most of the weight has come back. This really annoys me because I have a closet full of great clothes & none of them fit. Of course, I'd gotten rid of my "fat clothes" so now I've had to buy new ones! UGH!!!!

I did get to the gym today. Was going to get up early this morning & go, but that didn't happen. But, I did make it after work. So, I feel good.

Better get going. Got to get some stuff done this evening. Talk to y'all later.

Hi ladies,

I hope your week is going well. I weighted in on Wed. and I loss1.2 lbs. I thought it would be a little better, but it's my TMO so I'm o.k. with that. As women we have to put up with a lot with TMO.

Thank you Zoe, for helping out with this site. Your doing GREAT. Your 4.5 lbs. loss is wonderful. Keep up the great work. :D

I hope everyone is doing well, and having a great week. "God Bless." :)

Cathy

Hello ladies

I suppose I should post a little bit about me too. I having been reading all the post with your bios and I haven't even thought about posting my own.....let's see.....

I just turned 47 (ugh!!) but don't look it. :D I have a daughter who lives in FL and will be 27 on the 4th of July and a son here in Texas who is 22. I'm married and work full time in management. I bill Medicare for durable medical equipment and really love my job. My husband is a VP for the same company and my son is a programmer there. (yeah, it's weird sometimes). I've worked there about 9 years, my husband for 11 and my son about 4. We live in Fort Worth but I miss the Tampa Bay area of Florida sometimes. I'm surrounded by nothing by land here but I've grown to like it here in Texas. I'm orginally from NJ, a "Jersey Girl" at heart. Let's see......what else???? We have a dog (yorkie/chihuahua) named Zoe (yeah, that's where I got that name) and a black cat named Hannah. Oh, I've been as high as 220lbs and as low as 129 during my adult life. I am presently at 189.5 after losing 9.5 in the last 2 weeks, starting at 199. I want to be 148 but I really do look SKINNY at 155 so I'll see as I get near to that number.......that's about it for me.

I will be back later to read all the posts I missed. Have a great evening.

Good evening ladies

Well this weeks been somewhat of a bummer for me. I strayed off track for two days. But I've already kicked myself in the butt for that and I'm back on track.

How's everyones week going so far? I hope all is well. Take care everyone.

Hi ladies, well, ZOE, count me in. Everyone sounds so motivated, you just can't help but feel that anything is possible.

My Goal is to lose 20 lbs by Labor DAY.

Well, my daughter is calling so I have to run. Oh, if you care to join, I belong to a Walking Challenge thread under Exercise.

Hello everyone!!!

I guess I need to tell a little about myself too.

My name is Shanni, I'm 24. I'm married - 4 years in October.
I'm a stay at home mom of 2. Three year old twins, a boy and girl. I live in an apartment with noisy neighbors! :nono: Were hoping to buy a house this spring. I live in western Kentucky. I graduated from high school in 1996 and attened one year of college after. I gave up on that, got a job, met my husband, and so on. I've been thinking about going back to school when the kids start pre-school but I don't know what I want to do.

I haven't saw much of my husband lately. Since he started his new job it seems like the only time he's here he's sleeping. I hate that. And he is going to be working 4-6 weeks with no days off. He's already worked a straight 9 days!

I need to get the kids in bed.

Good Saturday Morning!

I am feeling really good, almost finished with 3 weeks of being OP. I must confess 2 things ~ first, I had pizza last night. Ok, so it's not the worst thing I could have had but I feel like maybe I had just a little too much. Anyway, I'm back on track again this morning, had my bran cereal, skim milk and a banana. The 2nd confession is that I snuck a peek at the scale again yesterday morning and I won't jinx anything by saying but I think I just may be smiling again come Monday's weigh in. :D:D

How are y'all doing this week???

Ruth HELLO!!!! So glad that you found us here! I am really doing well with this challenge and am confident that we will have many, many successes here.

Mota ~ Holy cow, what a busy girl you are!! <whew> I'm out of breath.... You really sound like a determined young lady, really grounded, knowing what you want. I would bet that you make all your dreams come to pass.

Cathy ~ my prayers are with you in your time of sowwor. I know that I am close with my dad too and I don't know what I would do if anything happened to him. But you must just keep on remembering all the wonderful memories you have of him.

Es ~ How's Pete doing? How do you like living in LI? I someitmes miss the NY/NJ metro area but surely not the cold weather.

Shanni ~ twins!?!? Wow, I would have loved to have twins. Tell me, are they as great a joy as they look? :) You too must be a busy, busy person, running, running and running ~ especially with them being 3!! Hope thos neighbor won't keep the babies awake.

Jen ~ oh, I know that feeling, getting rid of all your 'fat' clothes only to have to go buy "just a few while I lose this" more. I've had to do that myself. I was 220 and went down to 129, then stayed around 135.....all those 'fat clothes' went good bye. Now, I'm back to having a closet full of them. But girl, we're on our way back down, right??? :D:D

I sure hope I didn't miss anyone. Have a great Saturday. I'm off to my nail appt. Talk to y'all later.

cathy1628 06-24-2002 08:58 PM

Hello ladies

How did your weekends go? It was very hot here. The temp. was 92 and humid. I spent the day in my sisters pool on Sunday. I had to avoid so much food there. She kept asking me if I wanted anything and I kept saying no. I did have one small margarita through. I counted it as 5 points for the day. But it tasted so good in the hot weather. Then she had a cook out and I ate a grilled burger, and lots of fresh fruit. I did not tell anyone around me that I was back on ww. I always feel under a lot of pressure when I do.

I am 48 years old. I have four dogs Maggie, (lab) Cookie, (mixed) Muffin, (schnauzer) and Mocha, (cock/poo). I also have four birds. One blue crowned conure, one parakeet. and two cockatiels. Three of them talk. I have two children, a son that is 20, and a daughter that is 17. I work part time at Old Navy, as a cashier. I love to work in my garden, and I enjoy spending all the time I can in my backyard pool. My husband tells me I'm part fish.

Zoe, it's o.k. to eat pizza. I know it can be hard sometimes to stop eating it. I love pizza to. But you did a real good job at getting right back on track. And I :s: peeks on the scale sometimes to. It's so hard to stay away. But you are doing an AWESOME job at losing weight. Keep up the good work. Congrats!!!

Ruth, hello and welcome.

Es, how is your husband doing? I hope all is well with you.

Mota, good luck with every thing you want to do in school. I wish you the very best.

Shanni, wow you have twins. I bet they keep to going. Children are a real blessings.

Jen-Jen, how's everything going at the gym? Do they have a pool there for you to use?

My husband is waiting for dinner. So I will talk later. Good luck to all of you this week. Together we can do this. Together we
are :strong: "God Bless."

Cathy

evening girls

how is everyone? hopefully all is well with everyone. the past weekend has been somewhat of an emotional, stressful time for me. finals are here and i cant be more stressed. oh well with finals comes the end of the semester....free time in my busy life. or more work hours. whichever way i end up going.

i havent stepped on the scale lately. i dont really care right now what i weigh, i feel fine and im happy with that for now. i've managed to stay away from junk, i havent gotten much exercise but i plan to change that this week.

anyway sorry to cut it short but im in need of sleep. i'll be back to catch up on anything i've missed in the last few days or so. take care everyone.

Zoe 06-25-2002 08:29 AM

Hello all

Well, I think the pizza caught up with me as well as being bad on Saturday. For some reason, Saturday was just a bad day, I just couldn't get 'full'. Well, not FULL but I was wanting something ALL DAY LONG. We went out for dinner to a place called Fresh Choice and although it's a salad place, huge salad bar, that can be very fattening. I ate way too much, had 2 muffins (not 1 but 2!!) and ice cream. :( So this morning, a day AFTER weigh day, I still lost but only 1 pound. I guess I'm okay with that. I think next Monday's weigh in will be much better.

So I've reached my first mini goal (10 pounds by the 4th of July) and on my way to the next, our Labor Day goal.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Gotta run to work but I'll post again tonight.

Me <><

mota 06-26-2002 05:28 PM

one final down....one more to go

Had my BioLab final today...got 100% so of course that boosted my mood. Today started off as such a horrid day. I woke up a 4:30, showered, got dressed, did all my morning things. I headed out to work and my brakes gave out on me. I called my mother to come get me, we ended up trying to locate a Pep Boys, Midas, Tune-up Palace, anything to fix them. On the way I get pulled over bacause my back tires are smoking. To top it off I start crying. I blame it all on it being my time of the month. Oh well I've gotten through today. Tomorrow's a new day and I'm sure nothing worse can happen (knock on wood).

Anywho I've managed to stick to my "diet" even though my house is stocked up with junk. So far I've managed to grab fruit when I've got a craving for some sort of junk. I hope I can keep that up.

CONGRADS on the mini goal Zoe!!

Where'd everyone else run off to????

jenjen 06-26-2002 07:35 PM

Hi everyone. I'm still here, just been really busy.

I've been exercising, but not doing too well foodwise. Just can't seem to get on track.

Mota, Congrats on the exam. That's awesome. I hate car problems. They're so frustrating. Good for you for staying away from the junk food.

Zoe, Congrats on the minigoal. You are doing great!

Cathy, There's no pool at the gym, but lots of classes. I'm thinking about trying out one of the spinning classes. They actually have a beginner class I want to try.

Shanni, You must be really busy. Being single, I can't imagine having to chase one child, but two. WOW!

Short-n-sassy, Welcome to our little group.

I spent the weekend with a friend. We ate out way too much, but did get some exercise in. I've got to get with it. I want these pounds OFF!

Anyway, Have a good evening. I'll try to check in more often.

Zoe 06-29-2002 09:03 AM

Hello everyone  I hope that your Saturday is going well so far. I have a busy day ahead of me today so this will be short. I just wanted to check in and say hello. I hope that y'all are staying on track this week. I've not been 100% but I'm still down 10.5 lbs in 3 weeks. I suppose that could have been better but I just wasn't concentrating enough.

I will write again tomorrow. I'm on my way out to run a few errands, then some things around the house to do and then a BBQ/pool party to attend this afternoon......whew! I'm tired already.

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Zoe <><
