Hardboiled eggs, fruit with a small amount of cheese, some turkey wrapped around a cheese stick, cottage cheese with blueberries, a few olive or some walnuts.
I have learned to try to eat one of these BEFORE I get home, cause I have been know to whip through the kitchen like a tornado eating anything that is not nailed down. I do better if I take the edge off the hunger before I get home. |
Good idea mid-wife. Like an "on the way home" snack. Just like some pain relievers...you need to take them before the pain comes back

If I'm really hungry after work and need a small snack I usually go for somthing like pretzels or a handful of peanuts. Or a slice of pepper jack cheese (I love that stuff! lol). And a glass of water because water always fills me up. Just to hold over till dinner.

Some of my favorite small meals to hold me over for a couple of hours...
Egg whites with low fat feta or blue cheese crumbled, with a bit of hot sauce. These can be made for about 100 calories. Two pieces of high fiber bread, with a couple thin pieces of meat, and mustard, possibly some pickles. These can be made for about 100 calories. Oatmeal, if I'm really hungry. 130ish calories. A high fiber bar, I love the Fiber One bars, and they have a great selection like ones with mini butterscotch or chocolate chips, dried fruit, peanut butter, etc. About 130 or so calories (depends on the bar). Some cherry tomatoes with fresh mozzarella balls and balsamic vinegar. 100+ |
