Default The "NO" list

What are your foods that you can't have in the house, or even around you, because they make your willpower crumble into a little ball and die? Some of you may not have any (tell me how you do it!), but if you're like me, there are a couple of foods...

For me, it's mozzarella cheese sticks. They were my comfort food before I started my lifestyle change back in 2007. Hard day at work Monday = Cheese sticks with ranch for an afternoon snack. Busy and can't eat a good meal that night = Cheeseburger, fries AND cheese sticks with marinara for supper. Sometimes twice a week or more. I haven't even SEEN a cheese stick since July 31, 2007.

The other one I just discovered over the weekend. It's "pink stuff," or whatever your family calls it. That pink fruit salad concoction with cream cheese, grapes, pineapple, marshmallows, cherries and cool whip? Yeah...I didn't realize I loved the stuff so much until my husband had a craving for it. I made a bowl and couldn't stay OUT of it. I ended up tossing it all after dinner yesterday...wasted a bunch but if I hadn't...man...it would've been gone! I would've gotten up at midnight and eaten it all in front of the fridge!!!

Freshly baked bread. I love the way it tastes when it's fresh and new, and I know that it won't taste nearly as good tomorrow. These days, when I want some, I go to the bakery and get a roll. Built-in portion control is my friend.

Cool

Haven't stopped any foods from coming in the house.. But always make sure there is something I can eat when the potatoe chips and dip come out.. Usually grab the hummus and rice chips..and have a few of them.. Helps alot..

I don't have much junk in the house at all anymore. It is hard for me when there are homemade baked goods here. There are also times I will crave salty and chips would be really hard for me to have. I do keep pretzels though. I will also make baked goods from time to time but I use whole wheat flour and very small amounts of sugar and butter. That way I indulge, it's not so bad.

Definitely freshly baked goods - I made bread yesterday and most of my calorie count went to that... and there was an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie debacle a few weeks ago. Unfair - I love to bake... I wish that it didn't lead to my downfall...

Pizza! It's always been my weakness, I can't see a slice of pizza & not want to eat it... I usually give in though... My thought is if you deny yourself ALL THE TIME, you're setting yourself up for failure. I think you have to allow for a cheat meal sometimes!

Crunchy stuff like pretzels and even some cereals. Fresh baked cookies are definitely a no-no. I'm OK with ice cream, since my family eats it frequently. Fresh, hot pizza was my latest undoing.

I agree, Extasee...you've got to have the craving things sometimes. I'll allow myself "pink stuff" in moderation, and in public, at family gatherings. But no more at home!! I also love pizza, but I like to make my own. Comes out to about half the calories!

As far as ice cream goes...I adore Skinny Cow products and Blue Bunny sugar free fudge and fudge/vanilla bars. I've got a box of 100 calorie Skinny Cow bars in the freezer now, and the Blue Bunny ones are 50 calories each...
