Default I hate & love food I feel really bad ADVICE

I swear I feel like crap anytime I eat I feel shaky, hot, dizzy and out of breath not to mention I feel VERY IRRITABLE. I am 140lbs and overweight I am 5'0 and yes that makes me overweight.

I cant find a great balance its like I never get full or I make excuses to be fat.

I was going to try and lose some weight for the new year, now I live close to yellowstone and they actually have been having a scare at the super volcano so I tell myself well if it blows I might as well eat what I want and be happy

But I am still in my 20's and I will tell you I need to do something I need to get into control I have been having some chest pains I have had a ekg a year ago so I think I am fine but I think its food related,I am swollen water lodged...Its no fun

I feel the only time I can do great is if I just drink protien shakes all day,but the minute food touches my lips even healthy food I binge........

Oh sweetheart, the first thing you have to do is admit you are an emotional eater. I know, because, I'm one too. Before anything else, have you been given a clean bill of health from the doctor? It sounds like you may have some anxiety that is affecting your relationship with food.

Have you looked into counseling?

Have you tried counting calories? It might help you get some control.

what do you define as 'healthy food' that you binge on?

I'd say that you need some counseling about this. Can you make an appointment with your doctor, or with a dietitian, to talk about the difficulties you're having? That would be the best way to go.

In the meantime, you should focus on eating healthy foods in moderate amounts. To help you do this, make a list of all the foods you eat every day and how much--just so you can see what it is, not to change it. Then once you see your list for a week, you can think of the next steps.

You cannot be healthy living on only protein shakes, and you cannot lose 40 fast. In fact, you're looking at about 5 to 8 months, so it's important to find a healthy plan you can follow.

Have you checked out Weight Watchers or one of the other plans where you attend meetings for support? They might be helpful also.

Good luck!

I would go see a doctor and get your blood sugar and so on tested- my friend was 120 and 4'11 and was diabetic! She is now 90 lbs and doesn't take insulin or anything anymore.

Get checked- 140 lbs doesn't seem like a lot to some people, but some could argue you are over 30 lbs overweight- since you are smaller it might have a larger affect than a person who is 6 feet tall and 30 lbs overweight

I agree, the first thing I would do is go to my dr. and get a glucose tolerance test done. Most people feel shaky and weird from NOT eating enough, it sounds like you have the opposite problem. It sounds like it could be related to your blood sugar or insulin levels. Good luck!!

Lol I just have to say, from a geologists perspective, a yellowstone 'super eruption' in our lifetime is not a threat. Other than that, the advice other people have given sounds great.

I agree with psych. As a diabetic, I can confirm that is the reaction I have to eating, especially any meal with carbs. It was the "hot" that got my attention as a possible blood sugar reaction. Share this info with your dr.

Yep...see your Doctor ASAP. You are describing how I felt 24/7. In my case I have generalized anxiety plus panic attacks. I'm much better now after seeking help, but I was a mess for a long time. The only time I felt better was when I was eating, 20 minutes after the fact I felt terrible. Eating was keeping my mind focus on something other than all my "symptoms" (Chest pains, difficulty breathing, dizziness, palpitations, hot flashes, head aches, faintness......) In my case I was self medicating with food and alcohol.

I AGREE ... I was just thinking you are describing General Anxiety Disorder and panic attack symptoms I know because I suffered from them for a long time until I got treated and educated.

A psychologist taught me deep breathing and meditation exercises that have changed my life. She hooked me up to a Bio Feedback machine to show and prove to me that our minds can control our heart rate, blood pressure and anxiety level.

I vote with SEE a professional ASAP they can help you immensely!
