That is a good tip. I have been using a lot of really strong flavors, such as aged cheese and hot pepper to spice up my diet food.

Ok, checking in. I am at goal at the present time trying to keep it off. Lost 130 lbs. It was a long road only to find out that the road did not end once I hit goal. Still takes work I guess.

Anybody going to any Super Bowl Parties? I just got my invatation to one I get invited to every year and this couple goes ALL out on the food every year. I asked him if there was going to be any healthy snacks and he just looked at me like I was crazy! LOL!

He said if you want healthy snacks them BRING some. I think I am if I can think of some good stuff to bring. Last year they had besides all the chips and dip and stuff tubs of homemade Polish sausage (he's Polish LOL) and steamed shrimp. Lot's and LOTS of stuff covered in cheese and since it is a pot luck a lot of desserts.

I am thinking if I bring healthy snacks if there is non there I can eat my own stuff at least.

All I can think of is reduced fat chips and crackers which I really don't want to eat because even though it is reduced fat it is STILL a lot of fat and calories.

I was thinking something like tuna bites or chicken on a stick steamed or something but I am not a good cook.

Any ideas??? I really wanna go because we'll watch the game projected on a huge screen like at the movies these people have a great party room with surround sound just awesome to watch the game!

1 serving = 2 tbsp
29 calories, 1 g protein, 4 g carbohydrates, 1 g fat (trace saturated), 3 mg cholesterol, 1 g fiber, 138 mg sodium

Ingredients:
16 oz. can fat free spicy or zesty refried beans
1 Tbsp. fresh squeezed lime juice
1-1/2 tsp. chili powder
? tsp. ground cumin
? tsp. garlic powder
11-1/2 ounce (about 1-1/4 cups) jar guacamole dip*
? cup chopped green onions
1 cup light sour cream
3 Tbsp. canned, drained, diced green chilis
1-1/2 seeded, chopped vine-ripened tomatoes
4 oz. shredded 75% light cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. finely chopped cilantro leaves

Hey Jeremy,

I was wondering did you, by any chance, had too intense of a workout? Sometimes, I have noticed, when I exersice too intensely my muscles and joints hurt and during the next days I retend a lot of water. I had read somewhere, it was in 3FC, that hurt and sore muscles retend water to heal.

Maybe that is the case.

Well it happened to me when I started weight training..for the first two weeks I gained and then I lost..apparently it was water retention in muscles during the initial weeks. I would like to wait another week to see if its water or something else .

Do y'all watch your measurements too?

When I went on Blast Crew, which is a lot more physical than driving a haul truck, I expected the weight to just fall off. But it didn't. Huh???

Then, about a month later, the guys at work(oh yeah, I'm a chick, and a miner, ) started telling me I looked Soooo much better, "Have you lost weight?"

I took a good look in the mirror and realized that all though the scale hadn't dropped much, I was toning like crazy and was getting much tighter. Especially my butt, which is most of what y'all are interested in anyways. Just Kidding.

Could be what's happening with y'all too. Afterall, muscle is denser than fat and when you start building it you can plateau in weight loss yet still be firming.

Hi guys sorry for highjacking the thread, I just needed to ask - JB - only 1500 calories a day for a guy sounds like too little. Did a doctor put you on that amount or did you just choose a number? I am a 5 foot tall, 145 pound female and I am losing on 1500 a day. I have read that men should never go below 1800 cals a day, so if you are only 1500 a day and you are exercising a lot and not eating back those calories, you may be eating way way too little. You might want to do some research online and see if 1500 is enough for you - I don't think it is, and your body might not like such a small amount of calories especially with the exercise you are doing.

Just my two cents - sorry guys! just trying to help with all of he info I've been taking in over the last two years of losing weight. Good luck everyone!

I never sneak in anywhere, Gary. I come in with a bang. And be nice or I'll show everyone here your high school swim team picture.

Sides, figure if I have to hang out with guys all day at work, why not on my favorite forum. 'Specially now that several of the guys at work are chasing me down to find out how to lose weight. Girls aren't da only ones to get large sitting on their butts for 12 hrs a day 4-6 days a week. Figure it might help to get some Y chrome perspective.
