Protein Bars and stalls?

I love protein bars....especially the SoyJoys. I keep them with me at all times for those snack attacks....but for some reason, I've come to realize, that when I incorporate them into my daily meal plan, the scale stalls? If I go days watching calories and not eating the bars, I see progress. But when I do, the scale stops. I know the smartest thing is to stop eating them, but they are one of those quick fixes that fill me up and keep me from munching on other things. I travel for work, and they are by far the easiest thing to keep handy. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this, or know why?

I have no idea... a SoyJoy berry bar is only 130 calories and 14 net carbs. Doesn't seem like it'd really do you in at all... I'm curious too, so hope someone else can answer this!

Does it have a lot of sodium???

Hmmm... They don't look like they have a huge amount of sugar or excessive amounts of artificial stuff, the sodium isn't too bad.... I will say that soy bars often make me a little gassy :o and sometime bloated feeling, maybe that could cause a stall for you? Also, if you eat them when you are on the run, are you getting enough water on the day in question? I stall if I don't get plenty of water, especially if I throw in a protein bar on the same day.

Sometimes our bodies just have reactions to certain things - things that just really don't make any logical sense and aren't explainable.

If you think that the bars are causing the stalls, then ditch them for a while and see if you can find a substitute product. Or make your own bars at home with some protein powder (maybe subbing whey protein for soy protein?).

Me too on the water issue. I see very little, if any, progress when I'm not getting enough water.

So make sure you are also carrying along some water to drink.

Thanks everyone....I'm trying to stay away from them to see, yet I have them in my car and there are times where it's better for me to grab one of those than risk turning into the drive-thru line.
