What Is Wrong With Me?!?!?!

  • I had a baby about 12 1/2 months ago. Before i got pregnant, i was at about 159lbs. With morning sickness i went down to 150lbs, and up to 180lbs at the last week of pregnancy. I was 165lbs after the baby was born, and now i weigh 183lbs! I was trying to lose weight before i had gotten pregnant, but now i have almost 30 additional pounds to lose. I HATE the way i look, and i am willing to do almost ANYTHING to change my body, the only problems is, i think i have tried everything!

I started exercising 3 days a week at the school gym 30 minutes a day. I have tried Alli, and even starving myself. I know i have an eating disorder.....i'm a binge eater. I don't know when to stop. I need help, but i can't get any support. I am a diabetic, and my thyroid is bad, my triglsarides are high and my blood sugar readings are out of control! Yesterday i ate over 6000 calories!!!!!!

I can't do too many exercies because i have ankle problems. I am having surgery on the 14th, and i am banned from any cafeine.

    Anyone, please help me!
  • Welcome to the forum ! Theirs nothing wrong with you while trying to lose weight and then failing..we all have our share of failures and success. The key to success and even for weight loss success is Consistency, Persistence & Some amount of Hard Work...things to remember when you are trying to lose weight is that you didn't put all weight in a night and you can't lose it either that way...it takes time to melt off what all you've gained and making small small changes in your daily life will help you attain your goal..small changes means that they are getting into your lifestyle and are permanent even though they may appear to take time to show the results.

Don't worry about failures even if you fail 100 times, we all do fail so many times and every failure should add more fire in your belly to succeed next time..Every great inventions you see around you are the results of hundreds or thousands of failed attempts..so next time you binge..overeat ..simply don't talk to yourself as a loser..as we all do make corrective actions and follow it.

Regularly Visit Forums like 3FC : Its wisely said that success breeds success..and company affects company. When you are surrounded by people who achieved the goals you are trying to achieve your chances would simply double up..why because you have role models and tested and tried methods to achieve the success, Ask as many questions as you can and then experiment after evaluating the answers wisely.

Log your food : Do it religiously...one good site is www.fitday.com

Put a Blog and share it with the community : You'll get inspiration when needed and you'll have something to pour and share your feelings without any restrictions.

Keep Reading : At 3FC you'll find loads of information, buy some good books which are recommended by the members outta here, keep hunting for the information but do not absorb everything that you read...remember theirs too much information so evaluate everything wisely and do what that goes along with your routine lifestyle.

Eat Healthy : yes yes yes...be a role model for your kid..would you feed him any junk or unhealthy food ? Eat wholesome food, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, fibre rich food and some nuts..t..when you search the forum you'll find loads of information on the eating alone as that's the 80 % factor in your weight loss success.

Exercises : Weight loss is 80 % your diet & 20 % exercises...but that doesn't means you should not exercise..so don't worry about exercises much till the time you are able to do it..doing small small tasks and making yourself active during your routine life is the first step and can result into weight loss...though exercises should be a routine when you are able to do it.

Finally..Go Slow & keep Going : And that's the most important part...I do like this line...Winners Never Quit and Quitters never Win..when you give up you are out of the game..so never give up...make small small changes which are possible..don't go too fast and then keep going..no matter what..don't decide to lose in just 4 months..make your goal for 12 months and even the target of 45 pounds would become easy and achievable. You've already taken one step by joining this site...now read for next few days..evaluate how you can make changes in your daily life and then JUST DO IT...life's worth it all
  • I think with the health problems you have listed, it would be best to ask your doctor what he would suggest and start from there. Maybe he wants you to do a specific plan to start out with.

As for support, this site is full of it. There are age-related forums, forums for health issues, each type of diet or lifestyle, exercise forums, etc. Find a few and start posting. Everyone here is friendly and supportive. We've all been at the beginning of what seemed like a long road. Some of us are still on it, some have achieved success and are maintainers and have TONS of good advice.

    Good luck and welcome!
  • I think that first you're going to have to make a commitment to changing your life. We can all offer advice and suggestions, but no one else can make those changes for you except YOU>

You know that 6000 calories is too much, so you need to figure out how much is the right number and start planning. Plan your food out so that you don't put yourself in a position to binge. Remove trigger foods from your house - if chips set you off, then get rid of them. If it's sweets, throw them all away. Make your home a safe haven from food that will trigger a binge.

    You can do this!!!

  • perhaps seeing a nutritionist as a start would help. you need enrgy for a baby and you need your strenght to get throug the day.
    good luck
