I'm losing but I'm not losing the right things!

Ok, I just need to rant for a bit.

Saturday night, I went out with some friends to an 80's party. Later that night, I'm dancing in front of a mirror, and I notice that my upper body is significantly smaller (which I'm happy for). If I stand a certain way, I can even see my collarbones - I don't know the last time I've seen those, probably 2005. But my boobs - they're shrinking rapidly! I used to be a DD cup, now I'm probably a C cup. I don't want them to get any smaller!!!!

And my stomach - ARRRRRRGH. It's smaller than it was (in May, when I "got back on the wagon", my stomach was 48" around at its widest point, now it's 43") - but it's not shrinking FAST ENOUGH. Everything - my fingers, my feet, my butt, my boobs, my arms - seems to be disappearing -- except for this barrel around my waist.

I know that spot reduction doesn't work, but I am not happy about losing my boobs! And I'm happy about losing weight, but I want my kangaroo pouch gone!

Ok, rant over. Feel free to join in my rant...

Ahh doesn't it feel good to just let it all out ;) I know we never lose weight as fast as we want, but the great thing is when you lose slow.. it stays off longer!!! Congratulations on your weight loss so far! :cheer2:

You're doing great, no matter where the weight loss is coming from! But, I really understand how you're feeling, because I started at a 'B' and now I'm probably down to an 'A' or maybe 'A1/2' if I'm lucky! It doesn't seem fair, but I'm thinking that maybe after the weight around my waist and hips comes off, I'll be proportioned right:D Keep up the good work anyway!

Extasee58865 10-27-2008 10:31 AM

You are doing a wonderful job & everything will fall into place on it's own. You are not going to keep losing weight, but keep the belly, it just won't happen! Eventually it will catch up with everything else. I know how you feel though, my problem area is def my stomach and I like you, can't wait for it to go away! Keep doing what you are doing, it will happen! BRAVO!

Wanted to add this as a rant-why do those of us who've never had much of a butt seem to lose what little we have first? Hips form a rounded shelf above it, but the butt just gets smaller and smaller-grrrrr! My jeans just get baggier and baggier! My little sis didn't help either-she's always been thin (size 2-go figure:p) and she doesn't have a butt either-says it's gonna just keep getting smaller and I'll still have baggy jeans! Aaaarrrrrrrggghhhhhhh!

The boob loss can be quite a challenge to accept...I went from a solid 38D to a 32B, or B 1/2 as it may be. I'm having serious body image issues, but it'll get better in time. Some women lose more boobage than others...don't let it stop you!!!

mandalinn82 10-27-2008 12:09 PM

Ronni - lunges, squats, ballerina squats...get to know them. With diligence, you CAN build yourself a passable butt. It won't be big, but it will be rounder (and firm!).

grneyedmustang 10-27-2008 12:19 PM

I'm losing my butt too...not that I had much of one to start with!!!! I think I'm going to tackle the "walking lunges" next...

JulieJ08 10-27-2008 01:16 PM

Yep, it helps to just let it out sometimes.

I keep telling myself my abdomen will change a lot in the last 10-20 pounds ;). It will, it will.

I think my chest has finally figured out it's losing the weight loss race, and decided to get back in the game :o so I sympathize.

PhotoChick 10-27-2008 01:32 PM

Heh. I sympathise as well. I'm ok with the weight I've lost so far (ok, so I never had issues in the boob area anyway), but I REALLY wish I could lose more and faster in my tummy and hips. I know it'll go away eventually, but good GRIEF. Couldn't it be NOW!!!!

Oh what I'd give to have that problem...

One my top reasons for losing weight is so that my chesticles will get smaller. And if they don't get small enough by the time I'm at goal I'll at least be at a safer weight to have reduction mammaplasty.

The good news is a)you're becoming healthier; b) you'll feel better because of it; and c) there's always the "Waterbra."

Cheers!

I wish my waist would shrink faster. I imagine that adding ab workouts would help (not as spot reducing, just building up the muscles to hold it in), but I REALLY hate them.

downtomygoal 10-27-2008 03:33 PM

your looseing tha tis wonderful! I loose on my top first as well. Beginning my face downard. It hink knowing that helps me deal with it better.

Newshinyme 10-27-2008 05:53 PM

Right now I am just happy my bras are feeling better and that they are not cutting off my circulation.
Now, if my arms would shrink a bit faster so that I can lose the roll in them, then I'd be really happy.

owlmonkey 10-27-2008 06:04 PM

You seem to lose the way I do-everything from the top really fast and then the bottom drags in loss. I really miss my D-cups, I'm now a B+ (not small enough to fit in a B, too small to fill a C. {sigh} I can see a difference on top, but it's my bottom size I'd really like to see budge. I keep telling myself at least I'm losing...
