Default What do you still do...?

This is a spinoff of the thread yoyodieterinvegas made called "How far have you come?" I was trying to answer it and there's still alot of things that I still do that I used to do when I was bigger.

I ALWAYS wear a sweater or jacket when I go out. Even when I lived in NC this summer and it was 100 degrees out, I wore either a sweater, or one of my husband's shirts that was kind of baggy on me. Inside my house I'm fine, and for special occassions I'll do it... but really, I HATE showing my arms.

Also, I suck in and and like... crab walk inbetween what I think are really tight spaces, even if I could probably fit through them without doing so.

I get embarrassed buying clothes because of the size, I always wonder if people are thinking, "Who is she buying clothes for? That CAN'T be her size, she's too big!"

I feel weird going into the section of the store with the cute clothes... even though I LOVE that section. I feel like people are going to wonder why I'm there because of how big I am.

Hopefully some of these things will go away with time! lol.

I can't say I get embarrassed any more. Now I kind of mentally dare them to ask me But, my first trip to the dressing room is usually a waste of time because I've picked everything at least a size bigger than I really wear because I don't quite believe that those little tiny things that are labeled as the right size are actually going to fit me.

And, I just caught myself - I'm wearing a top tucked in to jeans with a belt today () but I just reached to try and adjust some "stuff" I thought would be hanging over the top of the belt - that isn't there anymore They say amputees have ghost sensations of the limbs they have lost, I wonder if I still have "ghost fat"?

I am the same way with sweaters and jackets, I hate it. I always feel like I have to cover myself because I am embarrassed. I can't wait for this to stop. I also have issues with people watching me eat or eating around strangers. I always think they are judging what I put into my mouth, even if it's something healthy.

I still won't wear sleeveless, I just can't relax in them. It's weird.

I do that too! I'll go into a store that only has certain sizes and I feel like everyone will wonder why I am in there. I don't wear plus sizes but I feel like everyone is looking at me thinking that I do.

I can't wait to be to the point where I feel comfortable ditching the jacket and sweaters! I'm always afraid that my shirt will ride up and show my fat rolls.

I still haven't gone into a shop selling 'normal' sizes and tried things on in the changing room. I'm still buying mail order so I can try things on in the privacy of my own home. I'm a UK 14-16 (US 12-14) but I still think I'll get to the changing room and nothing will fit which is rediculous as everything I've ordered recently fits fine. Its almost as though I think store bought clothes are made smaller!

I still try to grab XL clothes off the rack, eventhough I fit into mediums.

I still turn sideways to go through aisles, turnstiles, and between chairs, and most times I don't need to.

I still have the tendency to 'eye' things and think "Will I fit?"

Melissa, I peeked at your progress pic's and you definitely belong in the cute clothes section. You look so good! Congratulations! I peek in that section, but I'm too old for it. I like to cruise through it quick and then I go to the section that would look a little more appropriate on me.
I'm another one that totally misjudges tight spaces thinking I have to squeeze through when I don't. I was in an auditorium a couple of weeks ago and a guy friend was moving aside to let me get down the row of seats. I was so afraid I couldn't get past him without rubbing against him. I told him "I don't know, I'm not tiny like your wife". I got by him just fine with no bumping, what a relief
