  • Quote: [COLOR="Blue"]I was just thinking about this the other day. How do our bodies know what our goal is and when we're getting close to that goal? When I get to within 10 lbs. of my goal I was going to change it down another 15 lbs. so my body wouldn't know it was almost done having to lose weight and wouldn't slow down it's rate of loss.
    That's not a bad idea!

Quote: So the shorthand version of that is: the closer you are to goal, the harder it is to lose.
And yes, that's exactly how I meant it.
  • Hi Azul!

Like others I know your fustration well. But there are a few things to keep in mind.

As you loose weight the body needs to adjust to it so you may just need a little patience, a little persistance and a little faith it WILL start moving again. Also, you've lost a lot from you stats to the left. As we near our goals, it gets harder! I've plateaued at 170lbs for about a year, BUT my body composition was changing during that time as I built much needed muscle. I've just started to loose again, these last 10-20 are killer, but I'm not giving up!

During times like these I find that if I focus on the everyday lifestyle habits and stay off the scale it moves! Try fine tuning your diet and exercise a bit or add an active new hobby.
