  • Welcome Lointhecity! Of course you can join. Do you have that scale hidden or inconvenient to get to so you'll stay off it. Keep up the running and let us know how you're doing.
  • Well, my goals are to, for once, stay on track.
exercise every day, no matter what it is, for at least 30 mins. a day.
    Drink more water
    eat better
    Stay positive.
  • Welcome LindsayL0ve - water, exercise, eat better - sounds like a theme. You'll do great.
  • September goals:

    1) Like everyone else on here, drink MORE water!! At least 3 liters a day. I am currently at 1.5
    2) Keep pushing myself to jog for at least an entire song (Kanye West "Stronger") on treadmill.
3)Keep being watchful of portion sizes
    4) Use 8-10 pound weights only when strength training
    5) Remember to stretch more!!
6)Stop comparing myself to everyone else at the gym and feling like a loser when I can only do a few half assed push-ups. I couldnt do ANY two months ago. So there.
    7) Enjoy sweating!

    I am at 176.5, down from 191.

My goal for this month is a 5 pound weight loss = 171.5
  • Welcome KantuKat. Looks like you're making great progress. Great goals. I'm predicting a successful September for you.
  • Update for today.
Water - doing well. I even thought to take water to the grocery store on my shopping run today.

Eating On Plan - Doing well with this also. Being home for the weekend, it's easier to have healthy choices.

Exercising - only got some minor walking in this weekend, but it's better than none.

How did everyone else do today or this weekend?
  • sept. goal
    lose weight...2-5lbs
drink more water (with crystal light)
    swim more
    bike ride more
    walk more
    eat healthier
spend more time with my son
  • Today could have been horrendous because football started and my parents always have a nice spread of fun and delicious (but not necessarily good for you) appetizers! But I managed to do the best I could....and since the food counted as both lunch and dinner, that wasn't too bad.

    1) Had my 64 ounces of water and might actually have a bit more before bed
    2) Stayed closer to the veggie platter and the lite kielbasa than the chips
    3) Went to the gym this morning (20 mins each - bike and elliptical and some weights)
  • Welcome findingmyzen. You've got a lot of activity goals. I'm sure you'll do great.

Congratulations Chele615. Don't you feel great when you avoid temptation? I know I do. You're doing great!
  • Back for a little accountability
Ate on plan until dinner. Will try to avoid snacking tonight, unless it's straight vegetables, to make up for it.
Did pretty well on water today.
    And did some minor walking.

Not a perfect day, but better than some.

    How's everyone else doing?
  • Well WebRover, my day was less than perfect too but we're still hanging in there, right?

Keep on track with my 5 day a wk am workout plan:I was a little lazy with the workout this morning. I cut out early becuase I started late and ran out of time. I can NOT let myself slack. It's still a relatively new part of my routine so I really need the consistancy.

Get back to counting calories - Still not doing it. I need a good swift kick to get me in gear on this one.

Get butter and cheese out of my house - I've definitly reduced the cheese intake. I'm down to low fat and spreads rather than full fat.

Take good care of myself- This one is going well. I have had to put some boundries in place with family members. I'm putting myself first and refusing to participate in the drama. It is bad for me and my health. Yay me!

Way to go everyone! So many of us have picked attainable goals. I love that! I'll have to remember to check in more often. Next time I post here I want to have all 3 of my goals acheived for at least a couple of days in a row, I should be able to handle that, right? Good luck everyone!
  • i know we're already part through the month...but here's my goals nonetheless:

    1. gym 1+hour 6 days a week--this is where i see the most results so this is where i place the most emphasis
    2. stop obsessively weighing/measuring (seriously, there isn't going to be a difference in a 60 minute interval on any given day)
    3. plan food every morning so i don't get stuck when i'm famished...
    4. reward myself when i meet my mini-goals
    5. i'm looking forward to a weight of 153 by the end of the month...i think this is reasonable given my history...

thanks for the idea to put these in writing for others to see...i love the title of this thread, webrover, i clicked immediately thinking: "now this is the kind of attitude i need to foster"

    thanks again,
    ella
  • I thought I would check in as this is my weigh in day.

The good thing is I lost one pound. I have no idea how I did that. I did not do well on all the other things I said I would do.

Exercise has not been good and I have not journaled. I'm getting the water in OK.

So I'm hoping for a better week.
  • Well, you are still down 1 lb, good for you Clydegirl! After reading your post I back-tracked and recorded my calories for the day so far. I have GOT to pay attention to my calories. By the end of Sept. I will have that back into my routine.
  • Gogirl - Sounds like you made progress on the goal that can have the most leverage - taking care of yourself. Congrats on that progress. If checking in here got you motivated to backtrack and post your calories, the thread is working! Actually it's you, Gogirl, working.

Ella - great goals. Planning is so important. Looking forward to reading about your rewards.

Clydegirl - a pound! WooHoo!! Good job with the water too.
