See, this is why I never worry too much when the numbers on the scale don't change. I take my measurements (see
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147851 for my posts on how awesome that has been) and go by how my clothes fit and the comments I'm getting from others. So I *know* I've been making good progress, even when the scale stays the same or makes very little change.
I think we put far too much emphasis on what the numbers on the scale say, anyway.
That's not to say that you haven't done GREAT by having a 17-pound loss (That's AWESOME!!), but to say that there are other ways to measure success and THIS is a great reminder that we needn't be "married to the scale" in order to feel like we're doing good work.
So, be proud of yourself for the numbers and what they're showing you (that you HAVE made good progress) and now work on exercising differently or something that will really start to reshape your body in ways that are different from whatever it is you've been doing so far.
I had lost 2.5 inches off my waist just by dieting for five months. NO exercise. And then I started exercising. In THREE WEEKS I lost another 2.5 inches off my waist.
THAT is a huge difference and totally due to moving my body more, differently, consistently.
Hope this POV helps. Just wanted to talk about the importance in using SEVERAL means of measuring our progress, rather than getting married to only ONE way.
Keep going!
