Thanks SWEET-C they are in my truck, I was trying to get them both with their heads out the window, we have another picture from a few years back like that, wanted to compare.

And I believe I hold the record for busted threads and being a thread killer!

I've "bumped" myself so many times I'm up for self- abuse!
  • ONE COMPLIMENT:

"Hey Mom! That skirt looks really good on ya! You should wear mini-skirts more often." ~ Earlier today from my 15 year old daughter on a skirt my husband purchased for me last week.
  • SWEET! SUNSHINE!

One thing today ~ I walked the dogs 1.5 miles easy....one dog has a tired leg right now....came back home to finish getting my 3 miles done on the treadmill...had nowhere to go so I did 4 on the treadmill for 5.5 today. PUSH IT a little harder when you can!
  • What I've learned: Truly research a diet before you dismiss it as being a fad. I totally thought that South Beach was one of those "eat oranges and drink water" all day fad diets, and I've discovered that is further than the truth. Truth is, so far I'm loving South Beach. And it's working!
  • One piece of advice - It's never too late to put the fork (or spoon, or cookie, or handful of chips) down!

One tip - if you like crunch on your salad, you don't have to use croutons. There is a product called Just Veggies that can boost your veggie intake (it's just dehydrated vegetables) AND add crunch to your salad! I found it in the health food section of my local supermarket.
  • If you're in a restricted environment (work), have more food and snacks available than you plan to eat so you never are "out" of healthy food.

You really have to get your head out of the diet/restriction/can't have/denial/race-to-the-finish mentality and into a life change/healthy eating/healthy snacking/in-it-for-the-long-run (life) mindset.
  • I'm learning to balance what I love to do, with what I need to do...
  • Plan, plan, plan! Take snacks with you in your purse. Take your own salad dressing in a small container. Call ahead or check out a restaurant's menu online. You won't get tripped up as much if you plan ahead.
  • I will chew my food slowly, enjoying the taste, and slowing down the ending of the meal. I did that today with my hamburger. Because I know that I can't eat hamburgers all the time and lose weight.
  • I will not feel guilty when I indulge in something "extra." It is possible to eat anything you like, as long as you don't eat too much of it too often. Everything in moderation!

E.g. - I'll be getting deep dish pizza with a friend this Friday. I have done well on plan so far this week and I plan to keep going, but I give myself permission to enjoy my pizza night and not feel one ounce of guilt about it.
  • ONE EXCHANGE: Swap chicken burgers for quorn burgers in chicken style (im not a vegetarian but these taste just as nice , have less fat and cals yay! and go well with jacket patatoes ,, or a bun with some veg or salad

ONE COMPLIMENT: yesterday, i tried on my bikini for my hols in oct, n i sed to my mother, do i look fat in this? n she replied, no you dont , and if you carry on with this diet you will have the best bod on the beach, its already starting to show she beleived in me yay!

ONE ( 4 actually haha )QUOTE: "People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas." ~Author Unknown

"Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork." ~English Proverb

"If hunger is not the problem, then eating is not the solution." ~Author Unknown

"I'm allergic to food. Every time I eat it breaks out into fat." ~Jennifer Greene Duncan

    yerrh well thats mine hehe
  • even if you dont feel like working out.. force yourself to do it. It will re-energize you, help your health and make you feel darn proud of yourself for doin it!!
  • Cooking an extra piece of turkey bacon at breakfast to spilit with my dogs is fine

Eating half of their piece is cheating!
