Talking 10% OFF - and it's not even a sale!

Dropped another lb. which brings my total to 17. I saw on another thread about someone saying they had lost '10% of their starting weight'. Hmmm, I never really thought of it in terms of '%' loss (and hey, I'm all for ANY type of incremental measuring to keep me going! ) and even my mathletically challenged brain realized that 10% of 170 is 17. How very cool!

Good job!

I guess I'm now at 5%. That actually sounds better than only losing 14 pounds

Keep up the great work!

Congratulations!!! Great job!

Losing ten percent of my starting weight (only one more pound!) is the first major interim goal that I am targeting.

Studies came out recently that showed that losing (and maintaining) a 10% weight loss resulted in noticeable improvements in health (cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and insulin resistance). That is probably why you see some folks mentioning the 10% goal mark.

Here's a link with some info...

Congrats!

My goal is 60 lbs off, and I've lost 8.

10% of the 60 seemed very easy to reach. 10% of my body weight would be 19.5 lbs, so 11.5 to go - I may restructure my goals!

Hey thanks for all the nice posts! Yeah, it's funny how if you look at something just a little bit differently, it puts it in a whole new light. I have so many different 'tracking' systems that it makes me sometimes. lol Oh well, as long as it keeps me focused and on the right track - - - it's all good.

I have one more pound to go before my 10% starting weight loss goal! In fact, i made this nice chart of goals (yes, Excel works for LOTS of things!) So, every time I lose 10%, my next goal is to lose 10% of that current weight. It's easier than looking at the big picture..and it's so nice to think of myself as 10% smaller. Ugh. I can't believe I ever let myself get that (this) big!
