You have my sympathy. I feel as if I am in the same spot as you are, but I am not over 160lbs. Even with the little weight I have, it feels like a TON of bricks at times.

I am 21, just 40 min. south of the OK border. Where in OK are you? I have been overweight since puberty; then, I think I was around 200lbs. maybe more... who knows? I never really cared to know, nor did I do anything about being fat until here lately. I am putting my foot down once and for all.

Have faith in our Lord; He will help you accomplish goals if it is His will that you do so!

identitycrisis04 and TuneMyHeart,

You are not alone! 3FC has many forums where you can post with others who understand where you're coming from.

Here is a link to the forum Dieting With Obstacles:

identitycrisis40, you may not have Cushings--you'll need to see what the test says. Fortunately there are treatments for it, mostly meds, and they help a lot.

Here's a link to the 300+ forum:

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=124

And then there is a Support forum for those with 100 pounds or more to lose:

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=124

And of course 3FC has many other forums--browse around! You're sure to find new ideas and plenty of folks who know what you're going through.

Jay

Hi Identitycrisis,

I just wanted to say "hi" and let you know that you're on the right track. This support group is just the best I've seen. I have struggled w/ my weight for a very long time due to an issue with compulsive overeating. I really hope you can find a diet and stick with it. It's important to take small steps and be consistent....then, you'll start to see results and find that a motivation in itself. I also suggest doing a Google search on Resting Metabolic Rate. They have easy online calculators that will tell you about how many calories your body burns at rest and then, you try to cut that amount down by 10% and to workout 6 days a week...including weight lifting (to increase your lean muscle mass and to burn even more calories at rest). I wish you all the best. Hugs.

Ok, I just did it for you and found out that you burn: 2254 Calories per day. That's if you stay in bed all day. If I were you, I'd try to eat about 2000 calories a day and to workout on most days. Start with 20 minutes of cardio and work your way up to 40 or 45, 6 days a week (be sure to work up a serious sweat!). Then, do some weights about 3 days a week. If you follow this plan, you will lose weight (unless there's a medical reason.
