Angry Is all the exercise affecting my brain?

Obviously, yes, because my boss just stopped by and asked "Aren't you supposed to be on vacation today?!?"

Believe it or not, I forgot about my own vacation day!!!! And it would have been a perfect day for gardening, a bit overcast, not too hot and the ground is soft because it rained on Wednesday. Aaaarrrrgh!!!!

Oh dear I suppose it's better than thinking you were on holiday when you weren't! I hope you managed to swap today for a different day off

I do shift work, so even before this, I would lose my head if it weren't attached. (and I'm not even sure it is sometimes) But, yeah, I think the weight loss is also having an effect. I have been getting light, nagging headaches all this week. That happens on graves a bit, but this week has been worse than usual(almost constant). I'm on a restrictive diet and I'm thinking about easing off a little, at least until I'm back on dayshift. I'm also prepping to quit smoking in the next week or so and I'm scared to death. I don't want to blow my progress. Everytime I've quit before, I've gained 20 lbs. In fact, I don't think I'ld be here if I hadn't tried to quit before. Now is that sicko thinking or what???

I come to this forum to maintain my sanity. I don't know how I would have made it this far w/o it. I come in, check my diet's thread, check General Chatter, play a couple of game threads and in the end, log off knowing I'm not alone in this. It's the best feeling. I can live w/o my mind(I've done that before), but I've come to rely on all of Y'all.

LOL. Bummer, I'm sorry you are missing out on your vacation day -- can you take Monday instead?

Oh -- too bad about the holiday! I've been an avid gardener in the past, so I know how extra frustrating it is to miss out on perfect Spring conditions .

Only guessing here, but I wouldn't be surprised if in the short run calorie restriction and exercise would make the brain sluggish at times due to lower sugar levels at times. But in the longer run, I'd imagine that a clearer vascular system and steadier sugar levels would be a big boost to brain function.

Oh dear! I hope you'll get another day off, with similarly great gardening conditions of course...

And I can sympathize - I've been battling brainfuzz all week. Usually I blame it on the weather change or somesuch, but then I noticed that both my protein and sodium (!) have been way down and my starches and sugars way up for the last days. Today I made sure to get some good protein in and cut out the sweets and am feeling a lot better already.

Oh and as for exercise - my 30 minute run (well, jog) was the only thing that lifted me out of the fog yesterday

lol - I don't know about the exercise or diet doing this but I do know that its just being a human! My daughter once got up at 2a.m. and got a shower and dressed for school b/4 she realized that it was the middle of the night. Happens to the best of us! Ask your boss if you can take next Friday off instead to tie it into Memorial Day and get a nice long 4 day weekend.

I work mostly night shifts and have been known to show up on days that I'm supposed to be off, too. DOH!

A few weeks ago I was happily sleeping in on a day off, when my phone rang and my supervisor says "Ummm. You're supposed to be at work today."

AAHHHH!

I can't blame it on the weight loss, though. I naturally have brain farts like that every once in a while. Part of being human, I guess.

Oh my boss was laughing about it and of course, he did not fail to mention it at a staff meeting in the afternoon. :-)
I will take next Friday, it's not a problem - actually I will have two long weekend s in a row - this weekend is Victoria Day (Monday is off) and then 4 days at work and another long weekend! Can't complain about that.
